It's just that I live in France and know for a fact this is propaganda. "socialists" are just the equivalent of democrats in the US, and the people responsible for those riots were just desperate youths trying to fuck things up. That kind of violence is pretty rare in France compared to the US where you have gangs because anyone is allowed to have weapons. They make it sound like these riots were a sort of organized conspiracy aiming at overthrowing the government or something, it's quite ludicrous, they were kids from the miserable ghettoes where the govt parked them going angry at the way their neighborhoods are turning into hell on earth while the government sleeps (i.e. they live in ghettoes segregated from the cities, their blocks crumbling apart, no schools, no jobs as nobody wants to hire them cos they're not white and so on and so forth).

The "democratic socialism" you mention has led to the huge numbers of disaffected immigrants in France, millions of whom are Muslim. I presume that you don't live in one of the "banlieux", which is where the riots usually happen. If you did, you might have a different view. The ghettoisation of certain quarters in a number of French cities has effectively made them no-go areas for outsiders. Where all of this will end, I don't know, but it doesn't bode well for the future.
