@bjbjbzz so how did your boat do today?, well my JV8 boat placed 4th in the final, pretty bummed out i was stroke and just didnt have it for the sprint, lost to 3rd by 2.8 sec... what boat where u in for stotes and what seat do u sit in your boat
@absegamifrosh8 Sucks, my JV8 did pretty much exactly the same last year. 4th, the worst feeling ever. We didnt make it outta semis for the V4. We were pit in the fastest heat, and our time was 4th fastest of all the semi races. But we placed third and the two teams that won ended up getting 2nd and thrid. Im bow seat Btw.
By far the most memorable experience of my life. I Can't believe we won by 6 seconds of open water.. OH then we won nationals too... LOL. I love you guys and I'm so honored I got to cox you guys threw our undefeated season <3
@carguyzo6 yo dude i know its a month later.... hows your season going, mine is going very well, i am the stroke of the Gami JV8.. we placed 3rd at cities last saturday. were u there?.
this is a rather late comment but do you know what there average 2k time is? my school St Paul's placed 6th or so for the varsity 4 and we are interested in racing more eights this year.
dude 2k dont mean shit on the water, u should know that if u do crew... its all about the technique and power of course... everyone just needs to click to have a kick ass boat
@carguyzo6 Yo dude, bonner v4 who won the v4 at stotes, strongest was 2 seat, at a 6:28. Stroke and bow were formally lightweights at around 6:35 stroke and 6:40 bow. And 3 seat was a junior at a 6:34ish. They were kinda weak 2k wise, but they knew how to move a boat. And they knew how to handle the conditions that day cause we row there everyday.
@bjbjbzz yeah my current v4 at our school (st Pauls) moves a boat really nicely. they had there first win last sunday and will get a few again this up coming weekend. All those 2k times are around were the people on our V4 are the best being a 6:23
@carguyzo6 Yea i was there, my V4 ended up winning with overall time. You guys are about 8 seconds behind us. We're young though, me being a junior and stroke a sophmore. but me and him pull a 6:35, and our middle pair pull a 6:28, both seniors. But the next two weeks were racing in an 8 with our second V4 for a couple invitational races. Tell your guys we'll take them on at 5th flick
@bjbjbzz do you go to Bonner? next weekend we are having some invitational race in baltimore and won't really have much competition unless we here back from some better schools. we normally race 5 boats normally until we have a freshman 4 but this invitational race we will have 11 boats. Freshman 8, Freshman 4, Junior 4 A, Junior 4 B, Light 4, V4, V8, Junior 8 b and a few novice boats.
@carguyzo6 Yea i do. And we used to be an 8 school, but our numbers have dropped, and we can only seem to get 4 solid guys in each level. Right now if we had a freshmen 4, we'd have 4 guys in the 6:50's. If we stacked the JV4 category we would have 3 guys sub 6:40 and one at 6:49. But we have two lower classmen in the V4, including me. But we have experience, our 3 seat and cox won stotes last year in the V4
@bjbjbzz I wish we were more of an 8 school but just like you guys we can only manage mostly 4s. St joes looks like they will win again for some of there eights because their Jr 8 pulled a 4:31 last sunday. my junior 8 which i am on pulled a 5:09. thats with a real shitty bow. cause there is an 8:20 in 2 seat
@carguyzo6 Yea St Joes is running off winning the freshmen 8 about 3 years in a row, so they are gonna stay good. We only got as close as 8 seconds last year. They are fast, and i have a few friends on the team, they know they are good. FTP
@bjbjbzz were we row is like a river off the bay and the water is not good for rowing at all. a lot of wind and wake from power boats. Anyway are best sophomore is like 6:50 but are land workout before winter break was a 200K challenge. 22 day to do it. after winter break we started to work on more strength and hard short pieces like 8 by 500 up to 12 by 500. on the water we usually do like 8 five minute pieces or 2 30 minute pieces.
@carguyzo6 Nice. During winter the first two months is purely endurance training. Every monring before school we practice, alternating lifting and erging each day. When it comes to erging, weekdays we do two 40 min. peices, while on the weekend we have to do 90 minutes straight each day. And for our lifting, We do about 600 squats, 600 bench rows, 600 composites and a bunch of dead lifts and sit ups. Just do sets of 12 by 50 reps. It makes me want to quit
THE ENIGMA CREW!!!!
