I don't know what to say, lot of peoples saying very good things about this guy but I DON'T thinks that this guy is a Ustad, somewhere he is off the track "LAY' and has no bass (kharaj) in his voice, he is just keep on singing anyone can sing like him. I don't see any remarkable point in his whole ghazal. Pretty much Disappointed.
@dyashankar His primary instrument is Sitar but he sings occasionally as he did here. As a singer myself i can tell you hat he does have a tonal quality that is unique , certainly no Rafi or Mukesh or even the current Udit ji's league. Just enjoy it brother and be happy that a sitar player has sung like this , a casual off the cuff rendition...still very nice to hear it
@89ruchi The original singer and lyricist was from Pakistan Gulshan Ara Syed, I don't remember the music director, it must been one of them. But Gulshan Ara Syed sung this song 100 times better than this Maulana Rais Qawal, I don't know what's his name.

I watched this in 1980 in England. This was a popular Ghazal and was played at my wedding. OMG, yaad-e mazi azab hay rab.
