@bucolic1 There is no "wallet", no pocket book. They spend over 1 billion dollars to hire these pirates. The gangsters the pirates were hired to protect represent trillions on a global scale. Even if each of the 800 people arrested got $100,000 it is pocket change. I have no better solution so I guess I should not criticize yours but.... I am just thinking out loud.

May be illegal? I do not like such a suggestive term being used. And keep this in the public eye, Even though i'm not near there every time I see a police car/officer these days I have to re-assure myself that they're good people.
I'm not always impressed with the financial news coverage the real news brings, but stories like this, attention paid to the war, Israel, and many of the smaller countries who'd get next to no coverage still make this a top news source.

The fact so many were willing to conform to this behavior, and so many are ignoring it, just shows how lost most people really are. They can't be changed. North America has become a very dangerous place to have an opinion. Turning the population into a bunch of paranoid cabin dwellers. No wonder the economy is sinking.
Excellent reporting, investigating and analytical work of the caliber one couldn't find anywhere else. @luwdmke mate, there are a thousand times more people than police. The people are wayyy more powerful. They just haven't realised their power because "the man" keeps telling them they have none. Well, the man is and has always been WRONG.
Can you see what is on the verge of happening? Revolution :D
@SimianAxiom Yeah I don't think Harper or McGuinty should get re-elected but the only alternative is one guy who didn't know what he wanted to be, an American or a Canadian. plus another guy is a seperatist and the green party wants to carbon tax us to death. We need to release all the petty criminals from our jails to make room for the real criminals, the politicians and the power hungry, corrupt police. How do we allow the authorities, who write the laws and the ones who are trained and responsible for enforcing the law, to claim they did not understand the law? Our rights are gauranteed by GOD, not by politicians or the police and can not be taken from us by the politicians or the police. We need turn on these people and show them no mercy.
Good report. Maybe you can do one on how the Israeli agenda has taken over our different party leaders too? We once believed we were becoming a fair and just society, but it no longer feels that way at all.
The police should be exhonerated and given medals. The reeking, shit heeled poor at that rally deserved to be rounded up and executed for their disobedience. We, the people with money, ARE the sole reason that this society exists. You, the unwashed and usless public, deserve to be treated like the slaves you are. As for the brilliant automatons of the military and police forces good on you for knowing where supper hangs. Tongue my balls while I deprive you of your rights and devour your children
@2551bali No Bali, the peasants of 18th cent. France were a far cry from their fiery 14th cent counterparts. The Jaquerie, now those mother fuckers knew how to ruin a party for the rich. The guillotine is far too civilized for the scum that duped us into war and ruin for short term profit. I think the wailing mothers of tens of thousands of dead Afghani babies would all agree that the Jaquerie knew how to throw a feast in honour of their loving lord, his lady, and their greedy spoiled children.
@2551bali Interesting that you brought that up. I wonder if that is where (the Jaqs) Mr. Saloth Sar came up with his ideas for achieving Year Zero. As bad as Pol Pot was, the Jaquerie did it right. They were a mob of disillusioned, disenfranchised, and disgruntled hooligans that rose up and began taking out their righteous indignation on the very people that were profiting from their suffering. I think rich power mongers ought take pause and remember what happens when they become too avaricious.
@TheAnarchist33 No, not a sarcastic remark. Given the status quo in revenge style justice where people are punished appropriately for their crimes; a guy like Dick Cheney, a guy in league with those that would profit from generating and perpetuating a resource war; a guy with the blood of countless dead brown babies on his hands; that guy should experience what it is like to hear the cries of his loves ones as they are extinguished in horrendous misery. That would be fair, although very wrong.
@elbowbiter1 I was referring to the one where you were saying cops deserves medals, people deserve to be slaves, etc. I read your other posts, I agree with what you say.
@TheAnarchist33 Ah, then yes, I was making a mockery of the position that must be held by folk with means. How can you not be a callous misanthropic prick and be in that elite club of 1%ers? I can't blame the cops, what a brutal position to be in. They have an economic pistol to the back of their heads and the are set to fight against the people that want to remove the economic pistol from the backs of their heads. If we supplied them with a safety net would they refuse orders and be real cops?
@elbowbiter1 In the US, their oath is their safety net and many police officers and servicemen have realized this and started the Oathkeapers movement, but their oath is sworn to the people and the constitution, not the Crown like in Canada, and they represent a minority among their co-workers... Cops are just people, and like the majority of people, they'd rather live in their ignorant bliss rather than open their eyes and realize what's really at stake here. It's sad...
@TheAnarchist33 I dunno about this oath to the crown business. Canada is part of a common wealth and is no longer a subject of kings and queens or foreign countries. If anything we are the toadies of the US now. Well the bliss is drying up fast south of the boarder and once there is no fat life to be had there, my guess is that things will get ugly here. The party is over, I just hope we make the bar in time for last call so we can keep the buzz alive for the after hours club, then on till dawn.
@elbowbiter1 The Oath every federal government official, soldier, RCMP officer and new citizen must take reads as follows, "I, [name], do swear, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II." It's weird, but apparently, that's the way it is in every Commonwealth country. And your right, down south with all the militias, it will get ugly, it's just a matter of time...
@elbowbiter1 Taken from Wiki: "Canada is a federation that is governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state." So according to this, we are still under British rule. But then again, even in Britain, parliament supersedes Crown powers, it's all symbolic, but still there...
@TheAnarchist33 Well sadly, for the establishment and their gun packing henchmen, the only laws this cowboy (No I am not a cowboy) follows is natural law. The law defined by the moment and necessity; science, math and philosophy. If the light is red and the road is clear, my foot hits the accelerator (abscent and fucking video camera of course). Like your handle suggests Mr. Anarchist, we seem to have a few things in common. "May the jack boots of your oppressor's never land on your nuts."
I live in Kitchener and Waterloo Regional Police Service police my area where I live and roam. I went to the G20 in Toronto on Saturday and Sunday to show my support for all the activists especially 9/11 and for Canada to kick out the international bankers and use the bank of Canada to print and coin it's own money to lend to it's people. I also went to shoot some footage and on Sunday was arrested within the big crowd of people who were boxed in by the police. Thanks for the info TRNN.
The stench of all these Rights violations goes all the way up to Stephen Harper, the current Canadian dictator. Get rid of Ignatieff, replace him with Bob Rae and the Liberal Party can win a majority. One thing for certain, Harper has to go!
I just love how that fucker chief of police lied and said this act was used to protect courts. We have courts across the country and they don't need this law for protection.
The refusal of Chief Blair to cooperate with the ombudsman is a clear sign of guilt. Violating democratic rights is totally unacceptable, the governments refusal to allow public inquiry into the matter is a slap in the face to all Canadians. What happened to this country? My ancestors fled from Nazi Germany and occupied Holland because of this kind of brutality and disregard for human rights. Whatever happened to the true north strong and free?
@TheAnarchist33 Agreed. Governmental refusal of cooperation with any investigation indicates guilt! Here in the US they slap us with the Patriot Act, "if your not doing anything wrong, then what does it matter if we're monitoring you?" Well if your not doing anything wrong, then why isn't there a REAL investigation on the events of 9/11?? DOUBLE STANDARD
It's an appalling act, and a terrible abuse of civil liberties. But, he's historically wrong in saying it's the worst violation of civil rights in Canadian history. Japanese internment is an obviously more serious case. Let's not forget all the case of police killing people in their custody, most of which are never reported. The G20 is probably the worst single publicly documented case inside Canada since the Charter.
It is good to see a public official do their job for a change but this report is not enough. We need to ensure that the kind of treachery that the police engaged in at the G20 is never imposed on the Canadian public again. The Public Works Protection Act needs to be abolished totally. As of now there's nothing to stop the police and the government from using it again.
Was this the RIGHT wingers or the LEFT wingers that re-instated this act?
Or does it really matter which? The fact that an arcane law such as this was brought back at all should correctly be the question, and I applaud Mr Jay in NOT bringing up partisan blame in this issue. I'd suggest keeping to that approach, and realizing that both the L and the R are IN THIS TOGETHER.
As here in the U.S.
So, please, lets continue avoiding the partisan blame game.
People issue a lot of reports. Where are the teeth? Unless they can put some bite into the behinds of these police supervisors and officers the police will simply take this as license to continue this behavior. The entire police force must be subject to a purged as it appears obvious that they were not reluctant in carrying out their orders.

Well if your not doing anything wrong, then why isn't there a REAL investigation on the events of 9/11?? DOUBLE STANDARD

I guess it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission? Great job TRN. People better lose their jobs over this, especially at the top.
Recommendation #5 - Let everyone detained and beaten, dress in riot gear and go beat these police in their homes.

Curious...
Good job Paul !!

those with the most power must be held the most responsible.

People issue a lot of reports. Where are the teeth? Unless they can put some bite into the behinds of these police supervisors and officers the police will simply take this as license to continue this behavior. The entire police force must be subject to a purged as it appears obvious that they were not reluctant in carrying out their orders.
