I hate how everyone bitches that "hardcore" LP fans complain they're not nu metal anymore. I love everything LP does, except for A Thousand Suns. That's the only album I don't like. I really liked M2M. I just thought A Thousand Suns was too droning and monotone... just my opinion. Not everyone agrees on the same subject. I was just extremely disappointed in A Thousand Suns. I don't need LP to return to nu metal (though it would be nice), I just want them to be something exciting and new...

You shouldn't say that because his voice can't be "dead" or something, because he's a SINGER and if you don't even like that, then don't waste your time on that. He does what he like, he sings how he wants. You should do that too if you were in a band. You should learn to respect people for who they are and what they like to do. He is Chester, and nobody can change that.

I mentioned Paramore 'cause their music sucks, well Hayley do sing pretty good but everything else SUCKS. The only good thing in LP is Mike Shionda, but after all; they are nothing but a more mainstream and clean version of Limp Bizkit.

@SkyGrinder2007 I believe this was an LPU8 demo, it was used to test out the new protools they got, they never turned it into a full song, just kept it as this, gave it away to LPU members as like a Christmas gift i believe.

looking at all of the comments really shows how ignorant people are with music. it's not about sound. it's what the artist brings to the song and if you really listen to the lyrics and how they're sung, everyone would see that linkin park hasn't changed at all
I love how mad everyone is getting from A Thousand Suns. It's hilarious. Oh well, the more 'die-hard' fans that fade away, the more LP can branch out into different brands of music. I mean, seriously, nu-metal was great in it's time but if they were still putting out the same stuff 10 years later, I'd be sorely disappointed.

@ETSJoshVoxx As a classically trained musician, self-taught guitarist/pianist/composer and all-around music enthusiast, I'd have to disagree. The song structures were unique and an effective departure from the boring verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus that you see in all popular songs today. Instrumentation was varied in terms of equipment and layering. Probably their best album of them all, I'd say.

@linkinparkcovers if you´re speaking about ATS, then i strongly disagree with you. how is this a rock album? you can barely hear the drums in most songs and even less the guitar. most of the songs consist of electro beats and sounds. thats definitly not alternative rock.
listen closer, guitar aint only distortion sounds. it's an experimental concept album. but the main sound is definitly rock, some people even say ' in the end' is pop. trollolol. they've always been different, they've been linkin park. lots of people took over their old sound so they had to runaway from it, chester even hopes nu-metal is dead. they're still rockers, did you see them live this year? they still rock everything.

@linkinway thats the point, theyre not just about 1 genre. You cant call yourself a musician and stay in a line others have created. To become unique, you have to "spread your wings" and fly a bit further each time. Waiting For The End is argued with many about being amazing or awful, but either way they mixed it perfectly. I think it's one of the best songs in years, despite not being the hardcore stuff that started them off. So no, we cant consider it from a rock band cuz theyre more than that
yeah dude i know they have to change their style, i'm not against changing AT ALL! but their new style is changed into something repeated and boring (electronics, acoustics, solo guitar) we are bored from those things ... their old style is something really rare. It's unique , it's special, you don't know how to describe it ....

@linkinway Well it really depends on how you look at it. There are many bands who use the stuff they used to use ALL THE TIME, theyre just not as main stream. The newest album is pure artwork, just like the older ones. They just wanted to use more electronics to fit in with the theme and to affect the feeling it created. For an album about the world's end, I think the distorted, faded sound really helped. I loved it. It is an opinion of course, but it wasnt made to be intense as the previous

@Spazim Minutes to midnight wasn't terrible, you can't classify the music from your own point of view... Minutes to midnight is a less rocky kinda song, I like all their albums & Songs... Maybe you don't see the big picture?... Music changes in artists... Linkin park are adapting to what people want - a few people like you won't adapt or you just don't have that music taste...
If only Lockjaw was a song in A Thousand Suns. Hopefully it is but renamed because this sounds really good and I hope that they've not wasted something this good.
Yes Linkin Park has changed quite a lot. And it's true that their music is going to change radically. But even in Minutes To Midnight there was Given Up. There were tracks that kept to the formula of Hybrid Theory and Meteora. A Thousand Suns WILL have songs such as The Catalyst (which is pretty good) but we can also expect tracks that keep to LP'S earlier times.

I love how mad everyone is getting from A Thousand Suns. It's hilarious. Oh well, the more 'die-hard' fans that fade away, the more LP can branch out into different brands of music. I mean, seriously, nu-metal was great in it's time but if they were still putting out the same stuff 10 years later, I'd be sorely disappointed.

@ETSJoshVoxx As a classically trained musician, self-taught guitarist/pianist/composer and all-around music enthusiast, I'd have to disagree. The song structures were unique and an effective departure from the boring verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus that you see in all popular songs today. Instrumentation was varied in terms of equipment and layering. Probably their best album of them all, I'd say.

@linkinparkcovers if you´re speaking about ATS, then i strongly disagree with you. how is this a rock album? you can barely hear the drums in most songs and even less the guitar. most of the songs consist of electro beats and sounds. thats definitly not alternative rock.

listen closer, guitar aint only distortion sounds. it's an experimental concept album. but the main sound is definitly rock, some people even say ' in the end' is pop. trollolol. they've always been different, they've been linkin park. lots of people took over their old sound so they had to runaway from it, chester even hopes nu-metal is dead. they're still rockers, did you see them live this year? they still rock everything.

@linkinway thats the point, theyre not just about 1 genre. You cant call yourself a musician and stay in a line others have created. To become unique, you have to "spread your wings" and fly a bit further each time. Waiting For The End is argued with many about being amazing or awful, but either way they mixed it perfectly. I think it's one of the best songs in years, despite not being the hardcore stuff that started them off. So no, we cant consider it from a rock band cuz theyre more than that

@linkinway Well it really depends on how you look at it. There are many bands who use the stuff they used to use ALL THE TIME, theyre just not as main stream. The newest album is pure artwork, just like the older ones. They just wanted to use more electronics to fit in with the theme and to affect the feeling it created. For an album about the world's end, I think the distorted, faded sound really helped. I loved it. It is an opinion of course, but it wasnt made to be intense as the previous

@Spazim Minutes to midnight wasn't terrible, you can't classify the music from your own point of view... Minutes to midnight is a less rocky kinda song, I like all their albums & Songs... Maybe you don't see the big picture?... Music changes in artists... Linkin park are adapting to what people want - a few people like you won't adapt or you just don't have that music taste...

Yes Linkin Park has changed quite a lot. And it's true that their music is going to change radically. But even in Minutes To Midnight there was Given Up. There were tracks that kept to the formula of Hybrid Theory and Meteora. A Thousand Suns WILL have songs such as The Catalyst (which is pretty good) but we can also expect tracks that keep to LP'S earlier times.
