  • do woman ever shut up!

people need to eat so what you dont

like this than dont watch it

i vote NO on prop 2

  • Fuck these kind of places. i'm scarred for life. ;(

  • I'm becoming a vegetarian.

  • Yes on Prop 2!

  • this video is such bull...1: a pigs gestation period is not 4 months it is 3m 3w 3d...2: how would untying or releasing these animals decrease green house gas emissions? 3: I raise pigs and they repetitively bite bars all the time! 4: gestation crates are used for the sows and piglets protection 5: the alternatives to confinement operation are extremely costly, food is produced with the "cage free" stamp on it will cost 38% more than traditional production....Let's get edumacated people!

  • @haydnclement4 5. gestation crates are used for profit, not protection. 3. you must work at a factory farm if they do that. you care more about how much meat costs than animals welfare? who cares? dont eat meat then.

  • Oh shut up you morons that are saying vote no and it is humane. If this was kittens or puppies in these cages you would be outraged. You are such hypocrites and many of you who say vote no surely call yourselves animal lovers. Ha. Ha. Ha.

  • If we treated our dogs and cats or parakeets like we treat these poor factory farm animals we'd all be in jail. Accordingly, I recommend lengthy prison sentences for ALL factory farm owners, including their shareholders. Starting with Perdue and Hormel!

  • i vote yum on prop mcnuggets

  • @pwnage38 i bet you didnt know they put lighter fluid on mcnuggets...

  • where is the graphic and disturbing content? all i see is animals in small cages.

  • i vote yes

  • well this is gay what a stupid video i vote no

  • Yes, this is cruel. But, the government wants to shut down small farmers with health department restrictions and fees that make it impossible to continue to operate. These are humane farms!

The point of your video is well understood. How about helping out the small humane farmers that do not endorse this inhumane treatment. So showing this video is only getting knee-jerk response. How about showing an alternative option instead of just this grizzly view.

  • I also want to say that these large manufacturing companies are paying the govt. to continue to run.

Small farms can not do this. The big companies are paying the government to stop the small farmers. Get to the bottom of this and we will be making progress.

  • i couldnt even watch all of this, i nearly started cyring, i would help, but firstly i dont live in America and two, everyone needs 2 help not just 1 person!

  • I think that if people knew which way to go they would.

  • The world should vote...But humans would rather die than give up filling up their bellies...While they awaite for Jesus to come back to see what we do with the other creatures created by his father, God.

    Great video

  • Not a great video. It is one sided. They do not give alternatives to the large meat manufacturing companies. It does grip you and I agree that this kind of business is cruel. It should be stopped. How about an alternative? How about breaking down the huge meat manufacturing companies, or make them responsible like with the tobacco manufacturing companies. They are making you just as sick, only you haven't thought of it yet.

  • I know...I have a relationship with my chicken, she give me eggs...I give her shelter, food and love, I the day she can not longer lay eggs I will still love and care for her.

  • Watch "Letter to the World" on my page. Go Green, help the planet! Thank you.

  • this is horrible

  • VOTE YES!

  • Vote Yes, and find a way to stop the heavy restrictions on small humane and organic farmers.

  • half of this stuff isnt even in California.

so why are they using video footage like that?

  • i farted

  • yes on 2!!!!!!! poor animals :( its like a scene out of a saw movie or something :(

  • This is one sided. Look into what they are doing to small farmers who are not raising their animals this way.

  • You lament the violence done to animals, but then you support the violence of voting.

Voting is an unjustifiable act of violence. Look it up.

  • What is your justification for making such a bold claim? Direct me to some reputable websites, news articles, or cite some facts. Or shut up.

  • Govt authority and its laws are maintained through threats and acts of violence. Driving without tags on your car? A man with a gun will come after you. Don't pay taxes? Men with guns will come after you. Broadcast on a frequency the govt assigned to some rich company? Men with guns will come after you. Without violence, govt has no power.

When you vote, you condone this violence. You perpetuate and become complicit in it. And this violence is unjustifiable because it is not a defensive act.

  • Men with guns coming after you is only a last resort, if you're defying childishly, or if you are behaving in a manner which suggests to the police that they need to defend themselves. Admittedly, there are some out there who are corrupt and prefer to use force and violence if they can, but I sincerely doubt they're a majority.

Saying voting condones this violence is a strawman. If no one votes, what happens? Does the violence suddenly go away? If you want things to change, CHANGE them.

  • Whats childish about refusing to pay for tags to put on your car? Men with guns coming after you is the ultimate threat of the govt. It's costly to both sides, so the govt says "If you don't give us your money, you know we will send men with guns after you." And you respond, "Yes I know you will send men with guns. Here is my money." Would anyone obey the govt otherwise? Voting makes you complicit in this violence. You can have violence without voting. But you cant have govt without violence.

  • The animals are getting even, Cancer, Heart disease , the list goes on, make your Doctor happy also the undertaker, eat more meat. P.S. before you croak vote yes on Prop 2.

  • The reason that you are getting sick is that the animals are being raised in a poor environment. They need to "try" to keep them healthy so they give them antibiotics. They give them growth hormones to make them grow faster. This causes all kinds of problems to the human system. Did you see the chickens that couldn't even stand up? Would you want to eat that? I suggest that we teach people how to raise healthy animals for meat. Instead of abusing them. And a humane way to harvest them also.

  • sad !

  • thirstykirsti2129 u said it doesnt matter cuz it doesnt happin here or in canada but even tho it doesnt happen here the poor animals every were else are getting slaughtered and that matters just cuz it doesnt happen here doesnt make it right i say vote yes to prop 2 cuz these poor animals dont deserve it!!!!!!!

  • SO SAD

  • do you relize that this prop was focused on the small 3.7 percent of farmers that acutaly did this to their animals. now, whats the cost of this?? over 600 million dollars in defit to the california egg industry. experts say that " if the egg industry can get back to were it was in size after this bill is passed, it will be by the skin of their teeth

  • lol you think this is bad go to china and see how nice they are to animals

  • most of this doesn't even apply to farms in the US and CA. this is stupid. no on prop 2. i can't believe it passed. it's going to destroy our ag industry.

  • yes it is curelty to animals.

    I vote NO!

Laws are SUPPOSE to protect our rights, not pass them out. Where does anybody get the right to tell a farmer what he should do with his animals? If you have not the right to interfer, then you should not be ablte make a law that does. Where does Gov. Get it's right to make laws in the first place. If you have not the right to do something, it is NOT proper to create a gov. that makes it a law to do something you cannot do yourself.

  • doesnt anyone realize that ths proposition has all but destroyed the egg, hog and veal industry? with california in its present climate i would have thought that we would have been keen to keep that revenue here instead of it going to mexico, nevada or arizona.

  • *Bites into steak*. I'm sorry what were you saying?

  • Man this makes me sick. This is why I don't eat meat because the majority of it is produced in factory farms like this. What pisses me off even more is when people condemn people who eat Pilot whales in the Faroe Islands (a type of dolphin that isn't even endangered) and protest against it (I wonder how they would like Hindus protesting at the local beef slaughterhouse?) and think they're the scourge of the earth yet they don't even give a crap about the food they eat. This is far more cruel.

  • They are miserable beyond despair.

  • jenalala, grow up. there are people reading this that shouldnt read what you said. How many of you have to contrubute to a family or have someone else depending on you? Think about that. Im not trying to fight with you. If you dont want me to respond dont send an email to my address. GROW UP.

  • This is the great thing about our country. We may not agree on issues such as this, but we are able to talk and share our concerns. Please work with farmers to see what is accually happening. Keep an open mind. Dont call people evil you know nothing about.

  • sorry beyond.

  • No one is raping animals. Is that what you think farmers are doing? Reality is that people depend on us for food. Education is a great thing. Maybe if you read books you will see beond ignorance. Yes I do know what I am talking about. We are not monsters like you would like us to be. Look at some real issues instead of going after other americans trying to do something good. Get off your soapbox and make a difference in your community. You can't rationalize with irrational people. like you.

  • it must be greediness to committ cruelty against animals for profit?

  • If you want to do something. Stop buying their products. Which is the ONLY proper way to do things.

  • test

  • I think we all believe there need to be changes but, the way this is being portraied is wrong.

  • It is very easy to talk smack about people when you are on a comuter. Low lifes.

  • Asprinsa look at the real facts. Don't ever call me a liar. I know what I am talking about. It is easy to jump to conclusions when you hear one side. People all over the world depend on us for food. By you saying what you say is telling them they are not good enough to eat.

  • Yeah. I have no clue what the bloody hell you're talking about. What does slaughtering, raping, torturing, and otherwise misusing animals have to do with "People all over the world depend on us for food"? Most of the world rarely eats meat because it's completely inefficient as a source of food: if we don't descend on the food chain, the number of people and animals and plants who will continue to suffer is beyond anyone's imagination.

  • Chickens > Gays

  • I jumped for joy when Prop. 2 passed. :D animals shouldn't be confined in those inky-dinky cages. They deserve to exercise or roam around a pleasant field. Hehe. ^.^

  • The reason farmers as a group are against this prop. is because it hurts all ranchers that have chickens and pigs. Including the good ones. Its not that they want the bad farms to continue, by voting for this measure it hurts themselves as good farmers. Just remember that most people are out for their own agendas. Be smart and look at the accual facts first. Farmers are not dumb. Most of them have degrees in Animal Science or such as myself, Plant Science. We do understand and want to help

  • This is so completely false. Farmers support measures like Prop 2 because it makes them look better. Factory farms need to be abolished, not "improved." Nothing has changed. Almost nothing will have changed by 2015 either, and it won't be pigs who will be happy. It'll be meat-eaters who have been deluded into thinking that it's cool to oppress others as long as they're not in cages.

  • "We ask God for mercy and compassion but selfish people are uncapable of showing the same mercy and compassion towards animals. That is a double standard"

Jesus won this time. Yes on Prop.2 sir! Its our duty (the REAL Christians) to protect God's creatures from evil people!

  • If you boneheads in America want better humane treatment of animals,

TURN VEGETARIAN AND NEVER EAT MEAT, EGGS, DRINK MILK, OR ANYTHING CONNECTED TO ANIMALS IN GENERAL

    HYPOCRISY!

  • Lol you call this graphic? its wrong what they are doing to them, but no where near graphic content.

  • Let animals turn around?!

As if that will make them any happier than they already are.

Dont get me wrong its a step in the right direction, but damn, do you really expect this to solve any problems with how animals are treated?!

Stop buying meat if you dont like how the animals are raised.

  • good stuff!!!!!!! glad it past!!! promote the movie EARTHLINGS too if you like animals!!! more people are starting to get the picture!!

  • FUCK YES ON PROP 2!

  • what kind of person is gavin newsom? He cheats on his wife and wants to leagalize prostitution. He also wants to name a sewage treatment plant after Bush. He may not be the best but, no one deserves that.

  • If you are the caring people you say you are try visiting a good farmers ranch and see how it really works. Farmers are very welcoming people who care about their animals that are on their ranches. If all ranches are in this condition then they would put themselves out of business.

  • This is not what happens on farms. These adds are sponsered by PETA and other militant animal rights groups that put the safety of people last. California has standards that are met by most farmers and ther rest pay in fines and harsh reprocutions. The ones that are in these videos shouldn't speak for all farmers in California. Instead of trying to put the best out of business try working with the ones that cause the problems. This is not how farms work. Use some common sence.

  • if this is not how all the farms work, then those farms that don't use this inhumane treatment shouldn't have a problem with this proposition passing because they can keep doing what they were doing before, right? ...??? proposition 8 IS "working with the ones that cause the problems." if a farm isn't using that type of confinement then it shouldn't make a difference to them.

  • Have you ever met a happy animal rights person? Oh yes! only when they distroy good people like farmers and other people that supply food to the world.

  • gavin newsom is right about 2 AND 8. san francisco is pretty lucky to have such an awesome mayor...

  • Thank you to everyone for the support of this new legislation. Although California Prop 2 creates a minimal improvement in the lives of factory farm animals, it proves that people recognize the need for compassion to animals.

  • IT PASSED!!! >:D~~~ bahahahahaaa!! Prop2 PASSED!!!

  • YAY!!! Yes I'm so happy!

  • YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes on prop 2

"We Christian ask God for mercy and compassion so we should give the same to animals who are God's creatures"

  • YES ON PROP 2 !

AND NO ON PROP 8 !

    :DDDD

  • Sandra. We lost on Prop 8. it sucks

  • yeah... i guess the slight majority of the california population are just stupid and completely un-awesome. now i'm ashamed to live in the same state as these people.

  • YES!! YES!!!!

sadly people who vote yes on 8 are not awesome and very stupid, so it makes me sad that they are using their stupidity to use the constitution to TAKE RIGHTS AWAY!!!!

  • its all because of Mcdonalds and Burger king, and KFC

  • VOTE YES ON 2

  • I am guessing if you are all for Prop 2 that you are also all against aborting unborn children and discarding them like trash. Atleast the animals are smarter than humans that kill their own on purpose. Does anyone agree with me here. I know there are some pro life liberals here

  • who cares about abortions

  • VOTE YES ON PROP 2!

  • VOTE YES ON PROP 2!

  • Artsylin, what you don't seem to get is that criminals are in jail for a reason. THEY COMMITTED A CRIME. What are you trying to say? Animals deserve to be treated as if they committed a crime?

    Vote YES on prop 2!

  • I'm voting Yes on Prop 2 for sure on Tuesday. This is so sad, but thanks for posting this!

  • YES TO PROP 2!

    VOTE ON PROP 8

  • VOTE YES on 2!!!!!!!!!

  • This lady said she's very big on agriculture and thrive off of it. She was talking about the bottomline. Money and greed at the expense of these suffering creatures.

Please be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. VOTE YES TO PROPOSITION 2.

These animals do sooooooo much for us. The least we could do is check that box on election day to say YES to PROPOSITION 2. Is that too much to ask?

  • Vote YES! Stop the suffering and let California lead the way on cruelty free animal farming.

  • Please be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

    Vote YES to PROPOSITION 2.

  • These animals do sooooooo much for us. The least we could do is check that box on election day to say YES to PROPOSITION 2. Is that too much to ask?

  • fuck you artsylin amagine if you were a pig who couldnt turn around

you would want people to vote yes on prop two

    stop thinking for yourself

    vote yes on prop 2

  • THIS IS VERY SAD PLZ VOTE ON PROP 2

  • Why are you saying vote no?

  • I have raised chickens before and they don't look nearly as unhappy, unhealthy, and depressed as these poor laying hens.

When you pluck a feather, do they not squawk and bleed? When you poke at them, do they not inch away or try to defend themselves? These animals feel just as much emotion and pain as we do, so why aren't they allowed to live their lives as intended?

    VOTE YES ON 2!

  • I just can't believe these videos. I mean the cruelty that is endemic to these factory farm situations. I'm glad HSUS and Mercy for Animals is exposing these crimes. It makes me sick to think that Steve Mendell, the owner of Westland/Hallmark Slaughterhouse in Chino, lives in a multi-million dollar oceanfront house in Corona del Mar while his workers abuse helpless animals. I'm glad they were convicted of cruelty. Plus they put tainted food into the system. Just sickening! I'm voting Yes on 2!

  • I LOVE Europe

  • You can't compare this to men in prisons. These animals are helpless and innocent. It's so sad. Only eat meat or drink milk or eat eggs that come from free range farms. It's not sanitary anyway..

  • cheap ass bitch. id rather pay then know this is ACTUALLY HAPPENING. id rather relieve suffering then save a dollar or 2... i cant believe there are actually people like you. get your priorities straight.

  • if ur stupid vote no on prop 2

if ur not then u kno wa 2 do

i h8 wen pep do this i mean liek y wood they want 2 do this 2 animals

i wonder wa da farmers r thinkin in their heads?

wa i say 2 farmers "wa if sum1 took ur child away?" " y wood u do this 2 an animal?"

" how can u live by knowing dat animals r living like this?"

"dont u kno dat these animals r living things 2?" -christine, age 14

  • Vote NO. One of the main flaws in this law and one of the campaign tactics is that this prop will help small farmers. This will hurt small farmers due to higher costs of production and the cost of changing current facilities.

The added cost of 1 Penny is incorrect; the cost will be much greater because the producer will pass the cost on to the consumer causing an increase in prices in all egg products.

Also this prop will push out billions of dollars in production in Ca each year

    Think smart

  • I live in Florida & Amendment 10, same as Prop 2 was passed 2002. There were no raised cost on food prices for animal products due to this. Amendment 10 same as Prop 2 did not make any difference in your pocketbood, it only made a difference in the way animals were treated. Do not let the anit-Prop 2 people convince you that this is all about the money, it is not, it is just about giving an animal that will be slaughtered for our meals will suffer less become they become our food.

  • yech, its more than just small cages, its a lot more! but hopefully, this will help a little, and who knows, maybe they will stop ALL the cruelty; such as beating, burning marks into a cow's face, cutting a piglet's tail and more. YES ON PROP 2!!!

  • i meant yes on prop 2 :)

    my bad

and no on prop 8. theres too many props XD

  • what a nonsensical comment you just made. i hope for your sake that you dont go around actually spewing such pea-brained commentary to whoever you see; for people may find you to be quite abhorrent.

  • well, don't you believe that people should marry who they love? and don't you believe that animals need to be treated humanly (which i completely agree with)? then why not allow a man to marry his dog if he truly loved it? everyone seems ok with redefining marriage. where do we stop?

  • Pardon my French but, are you fucking serious? Don't make me explain things, you cant be that dense... You can't compare a homosexual couple to a man and a fish or a dog. They are not animals; they are human beings. What you described is bestiality. I'm waisting my breath on you if you have the insolence to make comments like that. You're very offensive to homosexuals everywhere and i believe it is accurate to say that you Sir, are what is wrong with this country.

  • Look, I'm simply AGAINST redefining marriage. I'm sorry that you are getting so riled up. I realize you hate people like me and that YOU are very INTOLERANT of my beliefs. I didn't expect you to use such vulgar language! Can't you just disagree without attacking me? Am I really what is wrong with this country? If you can't reply calmly, then please don't. Thank you.

  • Look, everyone has the right to choose whatever they want to believe. If NovaCoveSki doesn't believe in redefining marriage, that's fine.

And this is about the animals, not gay marriage. I know gay marriage and prop 8 are huge things but I think prop 2 is extremely underrated and needs to be getting quite a bit more attention than it has.

  • A true blue scatterbrain. Now I understand to what extent (or lack there of) in which your thought process functions. Think just a tad harder before you talk, you may find it to make a world of difference in the way people respond to you.

  • vote yes on Prop 8.

  • I don't want my food traveling so for away

before I eat. I know how it hurts to love animals so much and yet we'll never be able to protect them all.

  • @kawl166

I have chicken and they feel pain and do like to be free-range. Its is untrue that they will stay in one place. Those cages are painful and no animal deserves that. How come we "Christians" ask God for MERCY and COMPASSION and we are not giving them to animals? what a double standard.

Jesus will never do these to God's creatures. God created them so for them to be free, raise their babies and be animals, we have taken that from them.

    Factory farms are evil,satanic factories

  • your gay?!

  • Come on people! We are AMERICANS.We are compassionate people. We are knows for being the best in the world to provide HUMANE TREATMENT TO ANIMALS, lets not change that as other countries look at us and follow.

SAY YES ON PROP 2, STOP EVIL ANIMAL-CRUELTY

  • Hello please vote YES on prop 8.I think the traditional way is the right way .Tell me what you think leave a comment on my home profile page ,lets stick together. Thanks

  • yes on prop 2

  • Yes! On 2.

I'm curious if I can get flyers for yes on pop 2, at my local humane society.

  • Wow! That was a really intelligent answer! Lightsoutfools for president!

  • yessssssssssssssssssss on 2

  • Dumbass, that doesn't mean they should live their lives in torment. If you think that giving them a bit more room to move around in is somehow putting a lot of pressure on people in this industry, you're an idiot.

And no, I won't be eating chicken tonight. I'm a vegetarian. So, like I said before, fuck off.

  • Thank you! I put this video on my care page! YES ON PROP 2!!! Let's get this done and catch up with the Europeans! They are ahead of us!!!

  • please vote yes on pro 2! animals should have just enough space as all us humans do. Us? we have all the space in the WORLD to go! well, animals should have the right to have as much space as they need! YES ON PRO. 2!

  • Fuck off!

This is horrible. Humans are the most disgusting animals on this planet.

  • "not humans , humans like you are disgusting, humans are so bad why dont you help us all, you can end it at any time. have a nice day."

That doesn't even make any sense. I don't like humans because they do horrible things for things as stupid as money.

  • I agree! At times, I wish I wasn't human, so I wouldn't have to witness such cruelty to living creatures.

But, then I realize that maybe there is hope, and that people will realize that their actions have a consequence with horrible ramifications. I just hope more people realize before it is too late.

  • I've seen chimps torture lesser monkeys for pleasure. I've seen orcas treat a baby seal like a beachball. I've seen feral cats torture mice and birds for fun.

Cruelty to another species isn't just a human phenomenon.

But if humans are as bad as you say, then there's only one solution and you should lead by example. Kill yourself.

  • A bit late to enter the conversation, isn't it? Oh well.

Of course cruelty exists in nature, nature is change and change is violence. BUT, I've never heard of another species practicing factory farming for profit.

I'm kind of confused as to why anyone would take offense to someone finding cruelty to anything disgusting, though.

  • Bless you for posting this. I'm not old enough to vote, but I've sent I've been telling everyone I know about the proposition 2!

  • Gah, bad grammar! I meant to say I've sent emails to every legal voter I know.

  • Please vote yes on Proposition 2. This proposition supports the humane treatment of farm animals. The passage of this proposition would require that animals have a space large enough for them to stand up and turn around. Birds would have space to spread their wings. These animals have short, unnatural lives. The least we can do is treat them humanely. If the California Legislature were doing its job, it would have written these provisions into the law years ago.

  • Ugh that's sickening. I'm glad you put this up. People should know.

  • i vote yes on prop 2

  • I've never ate veal in my life and will not dine at a restaurant that serve veal on the menu. I've learned years ago about the inhumane treatment that veal calves go through. It just makes me sick that people are that cruel that they don't care about animals. It just discusts me.

  • Whenever people say "We mustn't be sentimental", you can take it they are about to do something cruel. And if they add "We must be realistic", they mean they are going to make money out of it.
