  • @mrdestoryit Not really sure where you were going with your response.... I was only referring to the GM 3800 series.... Everyone knows fords 3.8 was trash and everything chrysler makes is unsafe trash nowadays.

  • @frosty9595

yup, thanks. I moved to a lot better camera ;)

  • wow the first person i have seen on here that didnt rev the crap out of their COLD engine thanks at least you have common sense!!!

  • @buckyboobs

    thanks man

  • all the haters out there you're just mad because you have to wake up in the morning and drive your little prius to the tampon factory!

  • Felt special saying that?

Dude I am not gay, and I found it highly offensive.

  • dont pay ignorant ppl no mind...nice lss an the remote start is cool...i could barely here it start at the first try :)..keep us updated

  • will do, I posted a new one

  • Can I assume this is a fuel-injected engine? If so, I am not surprised it started right up unlike our dearly beloved carb predecessors!

    Ken Palmer

  • Hi Ken, yes, you're right. Its sequential fuel injected

  • How many HP did the supercharger add to the Buick? How many did it have?

  • The supercharger came stock on the Oldsmobile, which was a very rare option

Base 3800s are 205hp. Supercharged series 2 versions are 260hp stock, series 3 had somewhere between 280. The hp ratings the car companies give out are lower than its true

  • Series 2 was 240 and series 3 was 260.

  • you're going by GM's ratings, they rate them low so the insurance won't cost as much.

  • That's a load of crap. They wouldn't release increased power ratings if that were the case. And unless you pulled the motor out of that car and put on an engine dyno, you don't even know.

That, and insurance ratings aren't based on power. They are based on drive configuration, safety, and acceleration/top speed.

I own a 3800 Regal, and I wish what you said we're true. But it's not.

  • someone did dyno an LSS with the supercharged 3800 in stock form and we're claiming they were pushing 260hp and 338 lbs of torque.

Dude, insurance costs are based on power. What's costs more to insure a impala or a corvette.

To give you an example... I used to have an 97 chevy lumina 3100 and was paying $650 a year on insurance. Now with this car I'm paying nearly $800. Why? Because of engine size and power

  • and think about it too.

The supecharged 3800 is more expensive to insure than a normal 3800. Why? Because insurance knows that you'll probably be racing with it. So it's kinda common sense.

  • i like are bonneville but i like my buick park avenue better

  • to each his own, I prefer buick over a pontiac

  • Me too

  • the engine and body looks just like my 1998 boneville ssei 3800 supercharged

  • yup, its on the same H platform, they're awesome cars

  • cool car. i didn't know u could get supercharged saloons.

  • That engine's also available in Buick's Park Avenue Ultra, Regal GS, Pontiac's Grandprix GTP, Bonneville SSEi, 2004-2005 Chevy Impala SS and the one on my Oldsmobile. We're very big on engine displacement

  • wow i never seen sucks a bad car y do u brag about that lmaoo

  • because its supercharged that's why and I'm proud of this car. Bad car, I beg to differ. Go burn a console

  • haha, very funny Sergio

  • didnt prime the oil system before a long sit, cold start? that car should be taken away from you

  • Oh noes you're gonna repo my car.

Not to be rude Corey, but if you followed and kept track of my winter cold start vidoes, my car was being started every week, see videos for proof, and was last started on February 25,2009 and ran for 20 minutes before this video was taken.

  • So essence, although the car was being sat and not been driven, I took the responsibility of caring for my car by starting it every 3-7 days and made sure the fluids and cleaning off the snow.

So I deserve to keep this car. So sorry to burst your bubble

  • whats ur daily driver?

  • This car. I hardly drive in the winter.

  • You should get hazardous duty pay for risking your neck on that ice! I remember the thawing and refreezing from PA very well! Great car, great vid! :) Jack

  • Thanks. Ya that ice is really slippery, I really should go by the passenger door next time. At least now its warming up here :)

  • Nice cold start vid, thanks for sharing! Peace :)

  • thanks :)

  • lol you film with your laptop i would do the same thing

  • ya, its takes good quality videos, Im hoping to get a real camera this summer

  • it works realy well beter thani thought it would

  • Ya it does :)

  • na i think you will get better quality with ur laptop and u would have to pay lots of money to get good quality

  • yeah, good cameras here around $300-400

  • Whoever gave you a -2 and give mr.asshole +2 needs to get their head examined

  • Thanks Jon It's that vote bot!

  • really? since when did that happen

  • I waset on but I need major help! all my 5 stars are really low! And some asshole fan of Davidsfarm left lots of rude comments

  • who would that be

  • now fordminivans3300 is at +7, that's weird

  • I'm gonna remove that comment. It doesn't warrant a +7 "gm sucks balls" on my videos. Makes me wonder what kinda POS he drives

  • don't forget to block him

  • just did

  • Keep your opinions about which car is better to your damn self, because no one cares. Oh, the ford 3.8 sucks balls compared to GM 3.8. People will back me up. You lose, VWSuck01

  • your comment suck balls

  • I used to have a GM vehicle with a 3.8!

  • Yes Jon, Change your coolant to the "Green Stuff". It is proven that the "Orange Stuff" breaks down the seals in the engine. Which it a costly repair.

  • okay

  • Next time you start your LSS please show the trunk too

  • see my interior review, I open the trunk there

  • good to see the oldsmobile again i still miss paws olds 88 btw i noticed you left the freezer door open up there in canada ice everywhere lol

  • hehe :)

  • enjoying the weather? its like 16 degreees in my area :)!!!

  • its 9 here

  • starts and runs good. do not change the coolant from red to green. it can cause a reaction in the engine and root something

  • ok, thanks for telling me, wouldn't want to cause internal damage

  • Very cool car man

  • thanks :)

  • Awesome 5* :)

  • Thanks man :)

  • do you keep it insured when in storage?

  • yes, I put the lowest insurance on it for storage

  • Awesome video!

Thats a great car and i look forward to seeing your new videos when it gets warmer!

  • thanks :)

  • one moreee quesiton jon lol

im looking for the starter on my car. chances are they didnt move the starter anywhere eles on ur 3800.

do u know where the starter is located and can it be reached without going under the engine

  • probably near the passenger side, I wouldn't know I'm not a mechanic

  • the starter on your buick is in the back of the engine gotta go underneath to access it but it mounts like any other starter buicks might be in the front but still gotta go underneath to access it best to use a lift good luck

  • i just want to find it and give it a good whack lol

  • Yeah, those 3.8's since 1985 have been one of the industrys BEST! And they only got better and better with more refinements and stuff.

  • ya, too bad august 2008 was d-day for the old 3800

  • jon this is a stupid question but when installing a battery, does it matter if u connect the postive or negative first?

  • no, just don't mix the polarities

  • alright, and tighten it as much as u can right?

  • yes, red on postive, black on negative

  • yo j4, i got ma battery finally lol

  • It is a nice GM as you said. The sad part is GM dropped Oldsmobile and the fact GM is in very bad shape right now. The 3800 is a great engine. Too bad GM did not update it and maintain it as well.

  • ya, I don't get why they discontinue one of their best engines

  • They have done a lot of things that do not make sense and have lost sight of what they should be doing in the industry.

  • exactly

  • great video man i wasnt able to do that video like i said i would:( but ill try again tomorrow

  • that's fine

  • so i can leave ht e battery in the car weihtt he negativ pole off the battery and the battery would be fine?

  • hehe i finally got a battery...

  • awesome

  • yes, i made a vid, it wouldnt start, because my dumb friend hit the starter when we were tyring to jump start it.....oh well,

  • btw i amde a vid iil be uploading it soon

  • nice

  • so i can leave ht e battery in the car weihtt he negativ pole off the battery and the battery would be fine?

  • Sweet Vid Jon!

You Can Depend On Your 3800!

  • Thanks :)

  • No Prob!
