wow, what's with all the comments saying that this isn't a sport? the training for this is so hard. yeah it might look easy but it's really hard. like dance or figure skating. its not really considered a sport but the training and performance is physically and mentally straining that it def. counts as a sport just as much as basketball, football, or soccer

The stone has to be thrown at the right velocity and the precise angle to make it all the way to the target and the sweepers have to make sure it reaches the target and they have to keep it from veering off because as it slows down, it will move slightly to the side. It takes training, practice, physical and mental strength. U assume it's easy to push a rock on ice and sweep. but, its in the olympics isnt it?.

I used to think curling was a dumb sport but then I started to learn the different strategies and other concepts of the game and now I actually enjoy watching it. Is it athletic? No. Does that mean it shouldn't be in the olympics? I don't know.

Uhm, way to assume asshole. I am not sure of his name but there is a black speed skater representing the US just to name an example. The US doesn't believe they win because they are white, but that they (no matter what race) practice hard and win for who they are. The US is very diverse as apposed to say England.
