@sqterboi Well. i never said you would, was just saying you could. i had a lovely set of wharfedale valdus 500's that i had for around 8-9 years and pushing them is how they died. so fairplay and hope you have many more years of bliss from these wonderful speakers, no not being sarcastic, they are indeed fantastic speakers :)

Hi. My friend called me and told me about a pair of these at a garage sale. I went out and got them for $75! One has a pushed in voice coil dust cap - the center of the 8 inch woofer. I'm thinking to try to suck it out with a vacuum cleaner, very carefully. Do you have any advice for that? A friend of mine had a pair, and they are a great speaker. Mine are in black. I wish they were cherry like yours.

I always liked the JBL sound. I use to like it more when their systems were made in the USA and the product line wasn't saturated by the A/V Surround Sound movement. There cabinets were beautifully crafted for the money. Sorry to see those days gone to commercially made junk from China.

So what do you know about the ''polyplas'' material they use for the mid and lows? Other than it reduces distortion unlike paper cone. Tell me please, does strength matter of how loud you play these ? Because I know when you blow a speaker the cone may slip out of of the magnets, or like the old paper cones would break.

nice stuff dude ive got the older version of these speakes the jbl venue stadiums There amazing for the money i paid only 110 a piece :) the 8" woofers most people say arent good for mid bass but i think most of those people are using a low end amp that cant run them right cuz mine sound great but are the tweeters in these good? mine are so-so

@kingadaboom I think that they could have upgraded the tweeters a bit, maybe use the same tweeters that they use on the ES- series. But sure, for my use there are awsome ;)

wow looks like they bottomed bad when the song peaks at 12hz. =P idk maybe not, audio quality is great, but not perfect so i cant tell =P it just looks like they had too much jiggle to play cleanly :P vnice speakers

Uhhh. JBL isn't best buy speakers. JBL makes car audio and DJ speakers. It's Loud Speaker just like Cerwin Vega except in a skinny tower form.

If you can buy them at Best Buy, they're Best Buy speakers. These JBL towers are just a contemporary design with some reasonably sized drivers. It's face appeal for the consumer to be lured in by. I've listened to JBL towers like these and they sound saturated and very non-transparent, with a small soundstage. In laymen's terms, they're very unimpressive.

The ones at best buy are the crappy models. JBL is VERY good. Go onto the JBL website and they have the real models that aren't sold there. Best Buy just sells the skinny stuff that is at a consumers level. Cerwin Vega was not sold at best buy right? Wrong. They don't sell the big house speakers there.
