  • whats the best wheels for strictly sliding? please sum1 respond

  • @fr0zdify metro motions, abec 11 freerides, venom tweakers or zombie hawgs. no blowtangs

  • @fr0zdify Try Orangatang stimulus (purple) 83a. great and not to expensive :)

  • @HypexGFX ya i just did some hardcore sliding attempts for an hour and their good to go now, thx :)

  • @qUiCkScOpExGoDz orange are really slidey

  • @qUiCkScOpExGoDz dont look at it as different amounts of slide. different colours represent different hardnesses. harder wheels tend to slide easier than softer ones because the softer ones are more gummy and can deform more in hard turns. now there is theres a smooth surface on the wheel called mold release which is very sticky so first day of sliding might be a bit harder. wear that away and its super easy to slide. i'd say you might just not have the right technique

  • @theasianpearexpress haha i know now lol, and ya i wasnt sliding right at first but now i can hit like 20ft standez lol

  • @qUiCkScOpExGoDz you JUST got them it means because you need to break them in and maybe you need to learn to slide. you sliding on flat or a hill coz you can only really slide on a hill

  • i need a wheel that is good for downhill but also good for sliding please help

  • @xxGate23xx sector 9 82a racing formulas i think there pretty damn good...

  • I Live Where The Roads Have TOn Of Rocks What Would Be The Best Wheels To Get For A Smooth Comfort Ride. please Reply So I Can Go Get The Stuff

  • what's the fastest wheel for flat surfaces

  • @lukepwnzz flywheelsc

  • which ones are the best for speed

  • @raff0123456789 flywheels

  • dude, cmon where are the zombie hawgs?

  • Which wheels are the best for sliding and drifting ? (=

  • its so hard to review wheels for sliding because it's all personal preference, for instance you may love mayonnaise and think that i should eat it and nothing else but i hate mayonnaise it reminds me of semen.

  • WILL DREGS SOY LUV YO MUTHA 66MM 81A FIT ON BEAR GRIZZLIES ON THE 9 TWO 5 DECK!!??????

  • I'm sorta new to longboarding and i want new wheels. i want to slide, preferrably about 70mm wheels, but i also want to have a decent free riding wheel, is there an in between wheel that will do both?

  • @shamrox33 freeriding involves sliding... get metro motions

  • whenever i try to watch this video its slow as hell. does anybody else have this problem cause it is pissing me off now

  • i have the lemons and the grippins

  • all i have to say... is if the Hawg Zombies had a central hub... cuz mine slide like theres no tomorrow. but damn are they cone-ing D:

  • just started longboarding and your videos have taught be so much, thank you!(:

  • Yo Im about to purchase a sick sliding set up, was thinking the dervish on 180 paris', and 86 a stim otangs. Gimmie a shout if you have any suggestions!

  • @quarter1677 very nice setup great for sliding

  • @TheSmithers97 not a nice setup for sliding lmao... dervish is terrible for sliding.. that is a carving/dancing board...

  • @quarter1677 this is about a month late but... don't buy the dervish for sliding.. big mistake, you should check out landyachtz boards... they just came out with the switchblade which is a nasty sliding board.. or the landyachtz switch which is in my opinion the best sliding board out ( i own one).. dervish is terrible for sliding.. not wide, to much flex and over priced... also check out some rayne boards like the demonseed. the drop deck helps so so so so so much when sliding. trust me.

  • @WPLB4life dervish is good for other things my freind has one its good for everything except big downhill i like it for freerid2ing and i own a tantein and nemisis both ofr those boardsn r good nd i like the derfvish alot

  • @TheSmithers97 Ya, dervish is a good dancing board.. i wouldnt recommend it for downhill or sliding though. Landyachtz ftw

  • @FedoraLongboarder If they're cheap they're good.

  • NICE

  • @joepz0r if you do a lot of cruising around town I recommend about 80a-82a because it grips easily on gravel like surfaces. I put 80a wheels on my Arbor pocket rocket and just cruise around town :) hope my comment helped :)

  • i want those retro limes but will i still be able to slide?

  • what hardness should i get for cruising? so i need grip, but not too much.

  • @joepz0r Depends more on the wheel itself than the duro. My 78a Kryptonics (the new clear/clear red ones) were rough and slow (I had to push a lot). My 80a BigZigs were much smoother, rolled much faster and longer, and were a lot grippier.

78a Sector 9 Raceforms or 80a ZigZags are awesome for cruising imo.

  • hey motion,

which orangatang wheel would be the BEST for carving and fast sliding?

  • @MrJoey2miles the purple durians, i love mine:)

  • @MrJoey2miles Check out fireball beasts, they're nuts. Definitely one of the sickest pairs out there.

  • Can you still have traction with 80a Bigzigs (for DH) when the square lips start to be round (due to the over-use)? I would keep thoses wheels square and not sliding them...

  • @mrPACarrier it really depends on what you have ridden before. If you like O tang uerothane, then stick with the inheats. Vise versa with the Big Zigs. Another thing to consider i whell bite. If you have a topmount, i would recomend 4 pres or big zigs.

  • What wheels are better for DH, In Heats 80a or Bigzigs 80a ? reply plz

  • very helpful

  • flashback FTW!!!!

  • which is the best sliding wheels for my rivera longboard?

  • when are you getting loaded freeride slide gloves back in stock?

  • Break in those lips ;)

  • Retros FTW.

  • is randal good trucks? and whats best between paris and randal ??

  • @MaiNeim2 randal are great the diffrence is paris have better stock bushings and randals are more twekie '8i have no ida how to spel that)

  • @MaiNeim2 depends on what board and what type of riding ull be doing !! both co's make great trucks though !!!

  • is there a wheel that can slide carve and bomb ty

  • um... is the in heat to big....

    plz answer

  • @opmfsnipe in heat is the biggest otang makes. they're 75mm same as bigzigs

  • that's some big ass wheels, looks nice for a cruiser!

  • So I'm riding the sector nine racing formula now, which are amazing wheels, but they have zero drift so I can't pre drift any corners. So i was just curious what duro of big zig to get that would grip well at high speeds but also provide a little drift for harder turns. I was thinking of getting the limes.

  • @Dropnate i have the pink bigzigs 77a, they grip so much. but i manage to force out some slides, its a rough drift but u can manage.

  • what is the type of wheels best for pumping?

  • /watch?v=Y0l2kLhkydg

  • okay, I am stumped right now. I am buying a Joel Tudor signature sector 9 miniature longboard soon and I don't know what wheels to buy. I don't have actual longboard trucks. As of right now, I am simply riding 149mm Independent trucks. I need a wheel that won't bite, but will still be able to do all the things I want to do. Currently, I am riding on some standard bones skateboard wheels that are 53mm. The largest I can go is probably around 62mm.

  • very helpful, you guys know your stuff, thanks yo!

  • I am getting the derringer 28 and I cant decide what wheels to get. Apparently the stock wheels that are Kryptonics 76mm 78a. And from that I was thinking about the Retro ZigZags 70mm 83a instead but I don't if its worth the money

  • @UT3lord dude, zigzag's are the shit, they're worth the money

  • haha fail jack!

  • like the vid got a lot of info thank

  • What does the size of the wheels change?

  • What do you mean?

  • I just got into longboarding and this really helped me in picking out what wheels I want

  • for some reason those retro wheels look tasty lmaoo :P

  • mm id probs eat em aye lol

  • Yea! Neon colored wheels... damn. Wanna bite them and squeeze there juice out.

  • @keanoscarermitano619 ahahah dont they look tasty? like iunno the way they look makes me wanna buy so many~ :P

  • hah lol I just always went for the colour... stuff the shape

  • man those flywheels are HUGE!!!

  • yeah! huge wheels all the better to 4x with... : )

  • hey i just bought a longboard and this might sound dumb but is there a certain wheel size for every board or do they all work for any board? can someone help

  • ok let's break it down

    ha ha

    what longboard do you have?

every wheel fits on every board if that's what you are wondering

some wheels are better for the board

i have a loaded dervish with the big zigs like in this video.

all these wheels except the small black one are pretty big and are all good for sliding and things but the video explains that better.

    from hugh

  • are the big zigs good for sliding?

  • yes

    they are pretty good

i have learnt some slides, frontside slides and backside and fakie backside

and i can sort of do slides without hands like kick a slide kind of slides

but there are better sliding wheels for sliding,

  • @mokomojoko what would you recommend??

  • it depends alot on the design of ur board and what style of riding you wanna do. i use bigzigs cuz my board is designed kinda like the dervish. so i can use big wheels and not worry about wheel bite. what kind of board did you get?

  • You need to make sure that your wheels are not going to bite the board. Risers can dictate the height of the wheel that can be applied but a 66m or 70m, you should be safe. Please call us so we can discuss

    206 779 3272

  • so what if i just want wheels for pure grip and straight line speed? yes... no slide....

  • @davidzzz94 Bigzigs, 77a.

  • @YEAHBUCKET but wouldnt soft wheels bog u down in straight lines?

  • @davidzzz94 oh, oops. get 80a... should be good. You could always try harder wheels in the front and softer in the back.

  • @YEAHBUCKET ok thanks

  • can anybody tell me what kind of wheels i should get if i want to slide cus i'm kinda confused on what should i get

    HELP!!!! ME!!!!!

  • Abec fly's are pretty good for sliding, got those and they're pretty smooth. Others would be:

Otang durians or stims. harder duro => slidier.

    Hope this helps

  • Orangotangs for drifting

    Superballs for just sliding

  • thanks very informative

  • very informative. thanks. lol @ the clueless kid :)

  • witch wheels should i get? i wanna carve and slide. witch ones do u recomend for sliding?

  • @wheelrunner25 orangatangs...

  • Tangs free rides. (Stimules or Durians).

  • purple in heats or purple durians

  • you'll want 83a +/- 2 (duro) for carve and slide, i use orangatan purple in-heats and stimulus's which work great. For sliding you'd want the same or an even higher (harder) duro with a curved lip for a smoother slide (:

  • Hey I might get som fly wheels, but can you please tell me, if i buy flywheels do i need to put my own bearings in them and will they fit my skateboard trucks cos i want to use them on my skateboard becoz they r really fast! lol please email be back

  • hahaha craaaazy wheel bite action

  • i have 103mm flys u can not put them on a skate u will need to buy longboard trucks if you dont want to get wheel bite and die

  • LOL. You shouldn't waste your money on these wheels mainly because your not even going to use them right. If you want speed on your skateboard then just get some good bearings...

  • i have bigzigs

  • what should I get i think orange orangatangs or big zigs lime I want first to learn how to ride and then slide

  • I wanna get Pink retros'

  • what wheel should i buy for just fun or just messing around in the city on any surface

  • go for orangatang in heats (orange)

  • Lets see you hit 90 kph on a skateboard

  • @RugedChris how many Miles per hour is 90 KPH?

  • @RugedChris some one has hit 90mph

  • @RugedChris let's see you hit 90 kph on any board!

  • @renman000 he did watch his vid retard

  • @scaredbasejumper and he crashed. fuck you.

  • @renman000 Still hit 90 :D

  • u are retarded

  • The outside of the wheels is made of urethane, what is the hard part in the middle made of? The part that holds the bearings in place? And is it just glued on?

  • The hard part has got holes in it so then the urethane can 'wrap around' it to hold the hard part in place. And it's made of some sort of plastic - probably a lightweight one. It's basically there to keep the wheel stable and the bearings in place.

  • what are good wheels to learn to slide

  • mayby orangatang :)

  • or zig zagers

  • which of those wheels would you suggest for cruising around so i can get places and for me to be able to slide on hills and stuff

  • take the lime bigzigs 80a. they have awesome grip for carving and when you start sliding them, the lips will get round so they slide better.

  • lime big zigz r my fav and perfect for that in my opinion

  • thanks i am newto longboarding what would u suggjest for a beginner for just crusing

  • Why are the Wheels these day so boring? I remember mixed colors back in the day. Swirls and Transparent. Flush & Side set wheels along with most of these 'unique' lips, are not new, they are brought back from the Old School boards.

    Just a FYI.

  • Yeah... lol. Some longboard trucks have 10mm axles, though and require special bearings.

  • People have suggested that 84a abec 11 strikers were perfect for sliding so I bought them. And I was wondering how long it should take for them to break in and if that was the right choice of wheels.

    Thank you

  • that is a pretty hard wheel so it will be great for sliding, but it might be too tall for your liking, or possibly not a shape you would want to be riding for freeride.

  • does the size/shape of the deck effect the slide?

  • Yeah. For example, a deck with a lot of concave can really lock your feet in while sliding and a symmetrical board will make free riding more comfortable.

  • thanks

  • if im getting a landyachts evo with randall r 2 180s ...should i go with 75mm o'tangs or abec 11 83mm 90mm or 97mm

  • abec 11 83mm or maybe 90 mm, depends on what you like, but i think the 97mm are a bit to big for the evo

  • i have a feeling like you would enjoy the otangs the best, or some 76 mm flys.

  • abec 11 is a company and not a specific wheel... Go with Sector 9 race formula wheels. They're just as good as tangs and cheaper.

  • ive had some sector 9's and otangs before and the sector 9's suck ....and ya i know abec11 is the co. ....i was referring to the flywheels

  • Something tells me that you've never ridden S9 RF wheels. They are really great. Predictable slide, grip, & speed. You must not do DH or something.

  • well youre wrong....ive ridden s9 rf, slolam, slide formula, 3 different nineballs, bamboo series, and top shelfs, ive also ridden orangatang in heats and durians and ive ridden kryptonics classics and a few others.....but youre right, i dont really ride dh that much ....i usually just do stuff on my dancer but ive been starting to like the hills on my friends dervish a lot so thats why i was looking for a dh board wheel

  • You ride race formula wheels on a dancer... Don't tell me I'm wrong.. ahahahaha.

  • wtf r u talking about....i never said anything about riding crappy s9 wheels on my dance....i have otang in heats

  • Hush now, Child. You're obviously confused.

  • im not even going to argue with your stupid ass anymore

  • which onw are better fo just cruising

  • yes

  • As long as your axles are 8mm they'll work

  • usually means grand slalom

  • dose anybody no what gs rideing is i cant fide what it is i dh is downhill

  • giant slalom is typical, but grand slalom is also what it is called.

  • I really want all those wheels

  • I ride Orangatang wheels InHeat 75mm 80a square lip (Orange)

Orangatang Freeride Durian 75mm 83a rounded lip (Purple)

Sector Nine nineballs 65mm and 76a or something..........

I ride a sector nine Uluwatu (now known as a Pipeline) and a LOADED DERVISH!!!!!!!!!!!! woot woot

  • i ride a bombhill with some 150 fasttrack trackster trucks, some 75mm lime bigzig wheels and ABEC 7 landyachtz bearings and the wheels ride very smooth i love them i think those are for people who like cruisin around some hills and NOT falling lol but those wheels ride really smoothly i recommend them ohh and sorry for such a long comment 5/5

  • k ive got a landy switch and i mostly bomb down hills in the british properties in vancouve bc and im wonder wats a better wheel for downhill&sliding otangs or bigzigs

  • hi mate, i got otangs and they are really really good. so soft for bombing and grip but you can still slide them out i would go for them over bigzigs! dunno if thats any help..

  • bigzig

  • personally i like otangs better for sliding, but big zigz are better for all around riding, we would recommend the big zigz for all around riding.

  • i have a Kebbek Revenger and i run 75mm lemons in front and 75mm limes in back. That setup is pretty fun for races.

  • oi im like thirteen and i wanna start like drifting and sliding ive been longboarding for like half a year so like whats the best slide wheel for me

  • abec11 gumballs and abec11/oranatang free rides are good.

  • center set, 80a and up

  • haha watch the vid. well wats ur current setup?

  • the hustler will not bite with wheels 70mm and under,

the skateboard with longboard wheels will handle like a skateboard, with grippier longer rolling wheels, they will be more condusive to getting over all of the cracks bumps and rocks that are in the road and sidewalks.
