  • Incredible the way the smoke hangs in the air. I thought at first it was a still!

  • Excellent. Also added this to my favs. Love ur vids, great editing. Btw what camera do you use?

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Beautiful, Philip, simply beautiful! It was a fantastic morning and you've captured it suberbly. It shows what can be achieved with a good eye and a steady hand. I was the "one other bloke" shooting into the sun at Loch Gowan, about a quarter of a mile nearer Achnasheen. I got more of the approach but the distant reflection was slightly compromised by a spit of land jutting into the lake. I've posted my shot from Fodderty - see my SteamAgePictures channel.

  • Cheers! It's probably one of the best days filming I've ever had. I was on that bit of land you mentioned, took a lot of wading through a bog to get to it! It seemed the best idea at the time, but it certainly did pay off! I've seen you're shot at Fodderty and I think it's brill. That was certainly a spectacle as well! Thanks again. Phil.

  • I was on this trip so great to see some excellent film of it. In over 40 years of watching travelling by steam, these were some of the finest conditions I have ever known. The early start helped as it was cold so the smoke hung for amzing distances behind the train

  • Oh that was the most awesome steam loco video I've ever watched! Sheer fluke with the weather - no wind whatsoever and the air cold enough for the steam to hang... I've gotta share this around, you deserve more viewings!!!!

  • Philip, I have really enjoyed this series of films. This one in particular has been added to my favorites as its just so 'right' on many levels as Andrei suggests. Someone will have to organise a whip round to buy you one of the new wide screen High Definition cameras as with work like this a camera like some of the other folks on here use would only add further to your excellent body of work.

  • A stonking piece of film - superb !

  • Just brilliant. I am really enjoying this series. The images and reflections at the loch were absolutely magnificent and a testament to your planning and researching of locations.

  • The two most stunning video images I've seen for a long time Phil, breath taking clarity, and perfect conditions will make this a memorable video for sure....Thanks...Bob

  • I agree with the previous comments. The scenery plus that beautiful sound slowly fading away and echoing around; absolutely 100 per cent top class video - congratulations!!!!!!

  • Stunning locations again! What more can i say! 5* and fav'd

  • There's an almost Zen-like feel to that Loch Gowan clip. And proof once again that a steam loco is one of the very few man-made devices that can enhance a scene like that.

  • Stunning is the only word to describe this video, the opening shot with the exhaust hanging around the curves was only surpassed by the sequence at Loch Gowan. Thanks so much for sharing .

  • Beautiful video. Thank you for sharing...

  • I never get tired of these shots X-D
