  • "ooooh shit I hot that on film"

    clearly the most important thing

  • U HIT UR SCUNT HARD

  • Trying to ruin your video with blaring music?

  • Just glad ur ok dude ,we all live and learn ,easy now.

  • body position was bad.. head too high up... head should be almost kissing clutch mirror... should've gotten off the seat more..

  • ha, i was there

  • I believe I can touch the sky....

  • As luck would have it, I used the "MUTE" and fast forwarded to the 1:50 section where I didn't have to see what a 6 year old Yamaha looks like.

  • fuck that was a nasty high side i did this on my dt125 but luckily it was on grass that looked like it hurt like hell :/ ride safe!

  • I feel you man. I just highsided yesterday on a slippery onramp going about ~40 mph. Hope you're all healed up and back riding.

  • You can only ask so much from your tires! That wrist looks broken.

  • in MSF you learn that if you ever start to slide out, just let the bike go down. If you let off your brakes, your bike will violently pop back up, and throw you over the side.

  • ouch!!!

  • Almost just flew off that cliff like a bird, a roflcopter is what he needs

  • to fast to low

  • Disgusting form got him in that situation. Do some trackdays and try again :)

  • That's got to hurt like hell.

  • what tires?

  • Comment removed

  • it's funny when it's not your bike to throw you away like a sling-shot!

  • Glad he had his gear on!

  • I fucking hate you

  • Seriously...Who the heck edited this pile of crap?

  • Dude...I laugh at people like in the canyons.

  • Get rid of the music so we can hear the comments. He screwed up by overtaking coming into the corner which put him off line. He was trying to recover and didn't make it.

  • no he "screwed up" when he gave it too much throttle round the corner - you can hear him accelerating cos the revs get higher

  • Good thing you were wearing all your gear.

  • damn that sucks. he got chucked up in the air pretty high. getting high sided sucks...I dislocated my shoulder when I got high sided.he just lost traction in the corner maybe giving it a little to much throttle.

  • I am not sure I can read who produced the video. Can you leave it on for at least another minute before you stop the video? LOL.

  • this music hearts my ears.

    fuckin disgusting.

  • it hearts your ears? Not hurts?

  • Hertz ?

  • it hertz him because the sounds in this video were soo frequently ... is that english ?? hmm ..

well it's 2 o clock in the morning now x)

  • Sorry i was tired.

  • @TragicImage~ *Hertz!

  • Hard to tell if the high side was caused by the rear brake. What is for sure is that there's too much speed, lean, and an off-cambered road. Who knows about the tire and surface conditions? When the rear tire starts to slide in the vid you can see that he's leaned nearly all the way over. At that point there's very little traction left and any factor (road, tires, speed, brake) in excess can punch the envelope. then the tire reconnects and he's airborn.

  • dude..he hit the brake. you can see the brake light come on. plus, he wasn't even exiting the turn when this happened. if there's a high side during the exit, it means he probably got on the gas too much.

  • wasnt the rear brake dudes - if you look at the fuckin video and think you will see his front light is on and usually wen the fronts on the back is too yeah? just think dumbasses

ps. you can technically highside anywhere on the corner

  • reread what you wrote. You get an award for the most messed up sentence of the week.

  • eh....yeh lol sorry bout that there. was trying to be quick with it

  • ouch

  • defintly came on gas to early

  • MSF Cont'd: "You can prevent a "high-side" by intentionally keeping the rear brake locked and skidding to a stop. If a fall occurs, it will be to the "low side," and you will have only a short distance to fall."

  • MSF: "The biggest danger in any rear-tire skid is releasing the rear brake when the rear wheel is out of alignment with the front wheel. If the rear wheel stops skidding and resumes rolling when it is out of line with the direction of travel, the motorcycle will immediately straighten and could result in loss of control. You could be thrown off in what is commonly called a "high-side" fall, and it is very likely to produce serious injury*. (*see above)

  • No the rear brake didnt cause a skid too much gas.

  • Thank god he is ok, that was a nasty skid. How did it happen? Too much rear brake that caused the skid, then let off the brake?

  • This is the reason I no longer ride Palomar on the weekends. I've actually had an out of control squid on a 1000cc something pass me on my inside over a double yellow as I took a right hand corner going up as he was coming down. It's no wonder the locals fucking hate us riders and put diesel down in the corners because this shit happens multiple times every Saturday and Sunday.

  • that was a nasty highside mate bonus points for hanging on, but yeah track days are a better option for knee down antics (armco is not nice stuff but you missed it thank god) sorry bout your wrist. but hey motorcycle crashes are like aircraft landings, any one you walk away from is a good one, thumbs up to you dude :)

  • that was wicked. i giv u credit for holding on to it for that long that was a huge drift. and wat a mean lean angle. nice bike 2 shame about the scratches tho

  • When in doubt, gas it!

    When in doubt, gas it!

    When in doubt, gas it!

Squidish mistake...Take it to the track...Good thing you were wearing gear

  • Hmmm, passing on a double yellow, brakes in the corner, guardrail.

You are VERY lucky you're not dead.

Ride safe, and save that kind of stuff for a trackday!

  • Seemed like it was sideways for an eternity! Well dont on not shutting off as soon as it stepped out, ignore the stupid "you should have..." comments, what do they know? when the back end breaks out at that speed, its pure luck catching it in time (unless ur name is v. rossi, and even he loses it sometimes) hope ur wrist is ok dude

  • I almost thought you were gonna ride that out...sooo close too, man. Ah well, glad ur in one piece.

  • Actually, judging by that wrist, he was in two pieces. Hope it healed well, dude!

  • Stay off the rear brake!!!!

  • What are you talking about, there were no brakes involved.??!!!??!?!

  • i don't know, i thought i saw the brake light, light up.

  • yep, it looks like at 2:01 and 2:02 that there was some breaking done

  • Tail lights turning ON doesnt necessarily indicate that he was braking. you can slightly pull on the front brake lever or slightly step on the rear brake pedal and the lights will turn ON but the Brakes Wont necessarily ENGAGE.

He greedy with his throttle. Live and Learn baby!

Keep it at the Track! I only go there to take photos now.

  • Well, you are right. It seems we will never know if he used any break or not.

  • so i just started riding in nov. ive been to palomar twice now, i dont understand the reason the back came around like that, too much speed? any brake input?

  • the tire regained grip and turned the bike upright.

  • Damn that high side sucked!!!!

  • Anyone else notice that was the best he could do with the bars flying back and forth like they were? You do a slide with that kind of head shake and only end up with a f'ed up wrist, thats very lucky considering head on traffic, or the guardrail and beyond. I applaud the riders ability to just keep trying to ride it out rather than shut the throttle when it starts to go and end up in the railing on the outside of the corner. Depends on how far gone it is at the point it wants to come back to ya.

  • The song is Liar, by Korn.

  • SONG ? :D

  • Thank you for posting this... it's very instructional.

  • song?

  • shouldn't have let off the gas... wouldn't have high sided... g'luck with the wrist though... OUCH... hope you hop back on again

  • Shit man i would have just took a low side when the bike decided it wanted to just keep goin around

  • Mate bad luck. You get a few mates and you push it too hard sometimes. On a positive note that is the most impressive highside I've ever seen.

    Get up and ride on!

  • That was gnarly, if you hung on any longer you would have been riding backwards.

  • uh high side! oh shit... poor...
