Amazing voice! Can mezzos comfortably sing up to the G (just above the staff)? Not just pushing it, but comfortably sing in that register, singing around the E, F, G for 8-10 measures or more.
@ScoreStudy this particular song cycle is meant for a mezzo with those high notes. i'm bravely tackling it this semester for my recital! we shall see, we shall see!! but to answer your question, yes mezzos are very well equipped to sing G's and higher without effort. all depends on the break for the particular singer. it also depends on the individual study work. if they are singing wrong, the mezzo will have trouble with those higher notes.
I need to sing this for my repertoire class. I'm trying to get an idea of the sound of the song but when my voice type is so different from these ladies it makes it hard. I am a 1st soprano but I am not a belter. I would do so much better if I could just find a piano video of this
1) you sound fantastic a really wonderful rich sound
2) be careful of chin singing. If it is even physically possible for you to sing better it might have to do with your spinal alignment if that makes any sense.
(I'm only a voice student so I really have no authority when saying this. I just thought I'd state my opinion).

This is really good. You should post it on the Musical Overture site so more recruiters and conductors will see it.

I enjoyed hearing a rich contralto tone as you really zoned in on the lowest notes...
