  • Frank Hudson was at WAFB in Baton Rouge in the mid 1980s until he was removed in 1988 when AFLAC brought the station. My channel has a handful of promos and news teasers featuring him.

  • I worked with Frank at WDBO in Orlando in the mid 70's....he was the weekday anchor.....don't know what became of him though, I think he left in the late 70s? (I did, in 1980)

  • "A complete weather man"...does that mean the other weathermen are fakes, like Superboy is to Superman?

I would also love to find a direct download to the background jingle used here.

  • Check out the hairstyles, right out of "Anchorman"!

  • Good ole days before chicks were at the news desk

  • These guys were all by the time I showed up in Syracuse for college, 9 years after this.

  • I tell ya what...the music bed on these promos is pure genius. I'd go to great lengths to get my hands on a clean copy of it...

  • This is from Frank Gari's "Catch 5" package.

  • It's interesting to see the similarities in stations owned by the same group. A video from WCMH-TV from about the same time uses the same font and a similar news desk. Check out the video at

  • Yep. Outlet was probably one of the first groups to have any sort of standardization, Westinghouse probably being the first.
