  • everyone put thier feet up

  • The Daddy long Legs is the worlds most poisinous spider but its fangs are too small so it doesnt have any effect on humans

  • The daddy long legs can bite humans and is not that poisonous

  • So is the daddy long legs a.) The most venomous spider b.) Able to bite humans and finally c.) A spider?

  • I have read that the venom of a Daddy Long-Legs is quite potent & it's a good thing they can't bite through human skin.

  • @forestkaat They can bite through human skin and their venom is not strong. Their fangs are approximately 0.25mm and the human's external epidermis is approximately 0.1mm. I didn't make the measurements myself so it is not 100% valid but it seems about right.

  • thing is stick daddy long legs spider in a house spider web the house spider would win!

  • Awesome fight! I once was in the bath when one of those creepy black house spider decided to invade the web of the daddy long legs spider above my tub. After a 10 minute fight, the daddy long legs sadly lost. Those house spiders are SCARY when they jump at you! But, daddy long legs are friendly spiders. We let them live in our house and, in exchange, they get to eat the millions of ants we have in our house which helps both of us out! They don't bite, from my experiences. And I've held many!

  • actually most people know daddy long legs are the most posineous spiders in the world the strugle to bote you but there is one part they can bite which is the thin skin betweenyour thumb and toud pointer finger. but dont be afraid of them I love them and hold them all the time.

  • @ebombrox that is actually a myth. it has been debunked many times

  • Luke , Come to the Dark side. We have cookies.

  • what the heck just happen !!!

  • Daddy long legs are not spiders. No venom at all. They eat detritus. The only thing they have in common with spiders is 8 legs.

  • @dbuschhorn You're thinking of "harvestmen".

The "daddy long legs" shown here is actually a spider, as it spins web.

The term "daddy long legs" is used by lay people to refer to more than one species.

  • daddy long legs are actually the most poisonus spiders but mouths are to small to bite anyone

  • @MrGms23 That's an urban myth. Look it up.

  • Would have been funny if someone slammed the door open and squashed them both :P

  • I love the awkward pause when the two are next to each other. It's like "So uhh...FUCK YOUR SHIT MAN THIS WEB AIN'T BIG ENOUGH FOR THE TWO OF US!!"

  • Daddy long legs are the friendliest house spiders..

  • how come when spiders or bugs for that matter.. look like when they fight they are just vibrating vigorously..

  • looks like kung fu

  • @Krintok

Cellar Spiders a.k.a. Daddy Long Legs are not the most poisonous spiders around. That's a myth. It's just barely enough to kill other species of spiders. They are just incredibly agile and quick compared to other spiders. They are notorious for entering other spiders; webs and then dominating and eating its host.

  • why am I watching this? now I feel those things all over my body ghjfdkls

  • These are called Cellar spiders (pholcidae), also known as vibrating spiders. They are notorious for killing and eating other spiders far larger than themselves. How they do this? their long legs allow them to attack those short legged spiders from a safe distance with silk, they just keep at it and slowly wrap the other spider in silk. Eventually all they have to do is bite the immobilised spider and let the poison do its work. No matter how bit the spider is, they die.

  • funny how daddy long legs are the cutest, yet most poisonous spiders around. Yet, they are the friendliest, and even though their mandibles are too soft, they wouldn't bite even if they wanted to! At least, I'm sure they never used to be hostile. used to have a bunch of pet daddy long legs. they rock!

  • yeyah go daddy! knew it would win:D got two in my room atm and was vacuuming the other day and decided not to suck them up because i know they can't hurt me (even though im fucking terrified of spiders) i'm extremely glad i didn't now:D they can kill the creepy spiders that come in or the mosquito's and bugs.....oh yeh i live in perth so we got lots of spiders and what not but i don't come across many that often

  • Comment removed

  • hey i got a white daddy long legs

  • go daddy long legs

  • House spider?? Where the hell do you live to have a house spider like that? If i found that i would die

  • I don't think those house spiders build webs.

    You rigged this, ;_;

  • There is no way that house spider got stuck in the middle of the net like that on it´s own... The camera guy probably put it there just to see what happened (not saying it´s wrong, ive got no problem with it), but it´s not really a fair fight :P

  • house spiders are kinda at a dis-advantage since they cant spin spider web lol but good video!! Spiders are awesome!!

  • @LeafoftheSoul House spiders can make webs, they make hammocks with funnels at the back.

  • It's like a furry ball with some sticks coming out.

  • Well thats what the insect book said

  • Daddy long legs aren't spiders do

  • why did the black mother fucker appear to give up so easily

  • how did the big house spider not beat up that spindly legged little guy?

    lol

  • Is that what american's call daddy-long legs, the weird spazzy flies is what we call em in the UK

  • @209cgrant

Those are generally just called crane flies here. I've heard some people call those daddy long legs too, though.

  • @209cgrant Yes. :3

  • watch?v=AXqEk78qEog spider epic fight!

  • Daddy Long Legs freak me out because I hate flies and spiders and they are SPIDER-FLIES!!!

  • @XxDressagex that is a crane fly. spiders don't fly.

  • Holy macaroni I never saw that coming

  • Are you sure they're not black spiders? They surte act like they're black.

  • I never thought the daddy long legs would win.

  • It's like a spider slap-fight.

  • Just goes to show that skill is better than brute strength. But let's see how he get's on with a Camel Spider...

  • whats a baby daddy long leg spider called? they can't all be daddys.

  • Comment removed

  • @exsosist123 The are called Cellar spiders and are common in the Chicago area. They are harmless to humans and help get rid of other unwanted insects - as the video clearly shows.

  • @exsosist123

    Baby Daddy's?

  • I tried a similar battle with a daddy long legs and a crab spider, I places the daddy(with glove of course) in the crabs web, and apperantly the crab was like oh shit, cut part of the web off and the daddy fell, he lived , but I think that means that daddy would have won... I'm not really sure

  • @darknessknight4 You don't need gloves for a Daddy Long Legs. They're friendly and harmless to humans like the nice guy above said himself, or below this in this case.

They're damn legs tickle too lol. Had a few crawl around my arms before.

  • 240p... We meet again

  • That is not a daddy long leg.

  • daddy long legs: aw, WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT MY MOMMA!? BITCH!

other spider: ay i bet you wonty hit about it with yo pussy ass! long legs: oh shit you about to get yo little ass kicked muthafucka!

other spider: then get yo ass over here!

then the fight starts. (if they were in the hood) :P im glad im not.

  • @ewilli99 you forgot where you add the funny part!

  • i rather have a daddy long leg spider than that ugly looking fat hairy red spider any day

  • A daddy long legs was in my back yard I discovered it when I was in the grass laying down and when I look to my left there was a white spider about 2-3 ft tall moving slow at me I ran inside like wdf is dat thing

  • Daddy long legs pwns all!

  • Are spiderwebs flammable?

    -:3

    He..heheh...hehehe..muahahahahahahah.

    ~lights a match~

    OMG FIRE!! RUN!!

    Lol jk

  • OMG...didn't know DLL's are so bad @ss!!

  • Wait aminute-comem= clean on this now. i happen to know both spiders very very well. there is no way in hell a house spider got that far into a cellar spider or dust spiders' (we call them that around here) web PERIOD! You stuck her there! (Or a "he"). You likely took a common funnel spider and just hooked her a little bit into that spiders' web. i have seen where the vicious little gray funnel house spider built her web near a cellar spiders' web and got caught that way-long story...

  • @norseleague but the gray spider didn't live long. She came out when she felt something in her non sticky web but the cellar spider climbed up her sticky web which the gray spider apparently became ensnared in enough to become a victim of the dust spider. Must have been quite a struggle too! The dust spider dropped down while building her own web and the gray came out ....too late!

  • I just saw a long legged on the wall and acted too late... it fell behind my desk... I camped 5 mins to see him come out to spray him with deo spray lol.. he got thrown on the side of the desk / wall, didn't see it thne i used a flash light for 10 mins D: in the end I sprayed the gap between wall / desk with bug spray and the surroundings, now I'm still afraid to put my feet under my desk D: DAMNNNNN

  • Nice! Kinda makes me wanna put daddies all around my house. No bugs would ever fuck with me then haha

  • seriously, the much weaker looking spider whooped the other one's ass? Damn.

  • thumbs up if you thougt that the house spider would win

  • @123456789godzillafan it is a known fact that 'daddy long legs' spiders usually win these bouts. Frankly I'm not sure why. i read somewhere that house spider numbers have bene greatly reduced in recent years as the DLL ones have spread

  • Owned!

  • Here's what u do take a lighter or candle then grab man spray :D then Burn Em >:D

  • Daddy Long Legs have venom, but they can't bite through a human's thick skin. They are great at getting rid of lots of other spiders though. And from the way that spider is weaving that thread it looks like a Cellar Spider. But I'm not an expert.

  • Spiders are the single most misunderstood species.

  • daddy long-leg spiders rule! those house spiders are just gross but daddy long-leg spiders are ok considering they're spiders...and now that i know they go hunting for these brown bastards i like them even more! keep daddy long-legs if you hate house spiders...they'll protect you. :)

  • @nyhyl

do they stay put or no? i found one of these cellar spiders in my house and i'm not sure what to do. from what i read they are harmless. before i found this one i kept finding hobo spiders but since ive found these ive seen no hobo spiders

  • Comment removed

  • @FTZfourtwozero cellar spider and daddy long legs spider are the same thing.

You might be thinking of the harvestman. It's not a spider though.

  • Daddy long-leg spiders are man's best 8 legged friend.

  • you got knocked the fuck out

  • Yeah the cellar spiders a champ. I wonder how they'd fair against a giant arachnid like a tarantula or scorpion though.

  • daddy long legs put dem hands to his ass lol

  • I have a couple in my room. Now I feel safe since I know they eat more dangerous spiders. My fat little pholcid is eating a leafhopper right now!!

  • The shoe is the spider's worst nightmare

  • Nice film. I like how the music fitted with the atmosphere, it was really eerie. Made me itch and tingle all over seeing a spider that close. Great camera work too, like a pro!

  • Kind of fair of a fight since the house spider broke away from the web for a while.

  • who's your daddy biach ? :P

  • @TheEvilSkittel your mom

  • @bhschief

haha you are soo fucking funny :D

    not ;)

  • I was playing my Video game when i felt a tickle on my elbow I look down and their was a HUGE DADDY LONG LEGS on my elbow I flung it off and i have no clue where it is

  • If a spider kills and eats another type of spider, is that canibalism?

  • @PolarBearsRcool Nope, it has to be the same type of spider. A daddy long-leg eating another daddy long-leg would be cannibalism,

  • @vindicator89 The Daddy Long Legs is shooting web out of its butt. The "kicks" you see are the spider throwing the web at the other spider. It wrapped it up quick, allowing it to be bitten & eaten.

  • I ain't called Daddy for nothin', bitch.

  • I actually permit Daddy Long-Legs spiders to live in my house, they keep everything else out, including Redback spiders which are dangerous. I mean, all they really do is sit up in the corner all day anyway, and they aren't lethal to human's. A win-win situation for both me AND them really.

  • Wow, great footage, and the sound design was epic. Thanks for posting this!

  • That daddy long leg spider eats the common house spider all the time. One of it's main food lol

  • im pretty sure if i saw these guys going at it i'd raid the hell out of both of em

  • lol it looked like they were hving a poke war 4 a moment

  • wandered*

  • DAMN NATURE! YOU SCARY!!

  • very nice clip. plz make more :)

  • the house spider was all tangled so it wasn't really a fair fight

  • @galforfia As I said to the last guy. That's like saying humans aren't fair because they use guns.

  • wtf hahaaa how in the fuck did that daddy long legs kill that big spider?

  • @AKFullyLoaded Daddy long legs is the most poisonous spider in the world

  • @KoD4CK The daddy long legs is not the most poisonous spider in the world

  • @KoD4CK What makes you think that? i thought it was either a black widow or funnel web lolz

  • You know what? Raid.

  • qustion is. will she eat the spider she killed because i need time to get her food and dont want her to starve. or do they just kill other spiders and not eat them? another question how do i properly feed them? do i need to throw the food at it if it doesnt have webbing becasue one doesnt seems to attack unless i aim it at the web. its food is running around and hes not eating any of them. he ate one greese ant but thats it. he seems ok but not sure why hes not eating more.

  • i have another one i think shes pregnant and killed another spider i put in with her well it was the other way around i put a spider in a container but hurt its leg in the proccess so i thought its servival wasnt good so i added another spider and she saw that the other one was trying to come at her but quickly moved out the way and stuck the wounded one. then no even 3 seconds the other one started having spasm attacks raising abdomen up and down in the air then died.

    r.i.p

  • is it time lapsed? question on spiders. i have a few different ones im using as pets. they look all different. im sure i have a daddy long leg in there too because its fast and doenst seem to spin a web its yellow small abdomen. but i also have another spider that spins a web but it doesnt seem to weeve its black slow small and likes to hide upside down under wood instead of webbing it doesnt have lots of webbing. just a stan from one place to another i think it thinks its a waist of time.

  • In the red corner with a reach of 3 in the daddy long leg:D

  • This is a celler spider not a daddylonglegs

  • @christianscott123 your stupid, the daddy long leg is a nickname for the cellar spider

  • @christianscott123 If its a cellar spider then why is it the most common spider to find in every room of the house????

  • @ballybrackroburgaff Because first of Daddy long leg's don't spin web's And second of all Celler spider's do the War Dance and Daddy long leg's Don't,

  • @vindicator89 think it is just to entangle them, making them less of a threat, but that is just a guess and how i see it

  • lol i love how you made this vid so dramatic.

Was this actually filmed near a forested area/jungle? Or are those just sound effects? Just curious.

  • its all a myth daddy long legs are harmless its been proved

  • That's not actually a daddy long leg. daddy long legs arent actually spiders or aracnids because they only have one body segment . They also do not spin webs but rather roam the ground and trees. those r both just regular house spiders

  • @killaB14 are you sure? those are all over my house ugh especially in the corners..do you know what kind of spider it is if not a daddy long leg? if u do PLEASE post lol because i wanna know wtf they r if they are in my house haha

  • @killaB14 People who seldom venture outdoors may only have seen one long-legged arachnid, the house spider Pholcus phalangioides , and use the "daddy" term for that. So there is one "daddy-longlegs" which is a spider, and a couple of thousand species which are not spiders.

    Isn't that confusing?

  • @killaB14 you mean harvestmen, or Opiliones. which ive read in many books that it is a spider and many say it isnt

  • A spider being tangled in a spider web....how ironic.

  • @jwebzpsn That's not ironic, it just sucks for the spider..

  • This looks like it's from a nature documentary.

    Great job, Michael.

  • if u hate spiders dont kill daddy long legs they cant do any harm to humans and the kill other spiders

  • I knew the daddy long leg would win because he had more reach

  • @TheCrimsonFlames also he is very venomous well where i live he is

  • @ciggyface THE skinny guy is the most posinest spider in the word ;)

  • @shareil187 No it's not. The brazilian wandering spider is the most VENOMOUS spider in the world. Not poisonous

  • @gaaraboy96 i though the sydney funnel web spider was the most venomous

  • @shareil187 thats what i thought first but its actually not

  • The skinny guys, they are called Pholcus ! And the house spider appears to be a Tenegaria. Pholcus are'nt stronger than Tenegaria, but they are smart enough to never leave theyr web. Tenegaria often hunts other Tegenaria, and ofc mosquitos, flies, some species live in theyr web, the biggest ones count for theyr strength and velocity ... Each spider is benefic for a house. Moreover theyr web are full of antiseptics to keep theyr preys safe agains't rotten !

  • Why am I watching this? I'm arachnophobic. Anyways I still think that this is a cool vid.

  • @ciggyface haha

  • ROFL this is why i love daddy long legs and let them free roam my around my property they are very beneficial to have around

  • 2:13 for daddy longleg raping house spider

  • NO YOU'RE ALL WRONG THE ANSWER IS TEH DDY LONG LEGS WENT FUCKIN KUUUNG FOOO

    Refer 2 1:26-1:35

  • i noticed that the house spider was tangled in the web and could only use a few of its legs basicly it was a handicap fight and the house spider was restrained and as the fight went on the house spider got more tangled in the web

  • @jasontensa thats what you get for wandering into the wrong place

  • i noticed that the house spider was tangled in the web and could only use a few of its legs basicly it was a handicap fight and the house spider was restrained

  • great video. wow. now i have to reexamine my lack of fear for the daddy long leg. awesome video

  • nice film reminds me of david attenboroughs documentaries

  • #Mlike Daddy long-legs spider vs.House Spider #SM24hrs

  • @ciggyface lol the skinny guy

  • whod thought daddy long legs would win?! I sure didnt bet on him.. look at the muscle difference..

  • 3:05 shhhh shh shh shh shhhhhh.

  • daddy longlegs are actually deadly????

  • great video and soundtrack. i was wondering why the skinny spider was facing away from the house spider - those long back legs are really useful for spreading the net while staying out of danger!

  • kill it with fire :(

  • I think i remember reading somwheres that daddy long legs are the most poisonous spiders on earth but thier fangs cant penatrae human skin for some reason

  • @greymobvmp You read wrong. that is not the case. Google it, daddy long legs venom is barely weak enough to kill a gnat. Also, they can bite you.

  • @iamaneviltaco yarr, urban legend...

  • @greymobvmp I thought that to. But I found out that they can.

Go on Youtube and type in MythBusters daddy long legs :)

  • @greymobvmp Yeah, like JustGotoloveit and iamaneviltaco said, they're no where near poisonous enough to create a bite that requires medical attention. I should know because I was just bitten by one ten minutes prior to typing this message lol

Nothing more than a slight burn/tingle sensation. Less than a bee sting even.

  • that is not a daddy long legs you ignoramous. Daddy long legs do not utilize webs

  • @excalbr15 It's a Daddy Long Legs SPIDER. It shares the Daddy Long Legs name with both the Harvestman (eight legged, with round small pod shaped body), and the Crane Fly which looks like a Mosquito, and flies like a drunk helicopter pilot.

  • These guys are awesome. Theres a huge one in my bathroom.
