First all female rock band? Let's see - the Luv'd Ones come to mind - the Liverbirds - the Girls - and I could go on. Of course, Fanny were probably one of the first to get any attention, though their sales were still pretty low. :(
@Timmybear Never heard of them before, so they must have been no sales. Rock historians all agree Fanny Hill is the first All Female rock band that opened the doors for the rest.
@SpotterOz - the existence of other girl bands before Fanny who released records simply stands for itself. They simply were NOT the first All Female rock band. And sales, of course, and being widely known are not, in themselves, any indication of quality or existence. Fanny simply were NOT the first all girl rock band. I am in no way diminishing their accomplishments, but factually they were not the first, and it's not really subject to question.
@Timmybear remember, the millington sisters started out as Goldie and the gingerbreads, then the pleasure seekers and then finally Fanny, so June and Jean were pioneers of girl rock, givem some repect!
@normenghast - Goldie and the Gingerbreads had members who went on to be in Isis, as well as Genya Ravan. The Pleasure Seekers was Suzi Quatro and sisters (though ironically one of her sisters WAS in a later version of Fanny)
. The Millingtons weren't in those bands. I do give Fanny respect, but factually speaking they were NOT the first all Female Rock Band.
@Timmybear Some would have you to believe it was the Go-Go's. I remeber Suzi Quatro's first solo album,I made the mistake of getting it on the strength of advertising on my fav Early FM Rock station. None too impressive at all.

@SpotterOz - in which respect? Each of those bands came before Fanny. And Fanny's sales were very low.
