This is mostly bullshit... what's the difference between Apple and IBM both represent creativity for me... the are related as tech... the subliminal ads are really surestimated...
The researchers never said the logo causes creativity. They said that subliminally registering the logo primes a pre-existing belief that Apple products help one be more creative.
@gloebel2:32 to 2:41 "...People who had been subliminally primed to the Apple logo were more creative than people who had been subliminally primed to the IBM logo." (in reference to their ability to think of creative uses for a brick) Ahem ahem ahem.
Words are pretty repetitive. How many times can you count the words creative, apple, brand, logo, and comparisons on brands making apple look like the better one?
Very true, people should be conscious about subliminal messages in advertisements, although this study might have been sponsored by Apple®... Creative brand...
The logo itself doesn't have any power to influence you. A pre-existing belief about what the logo symbolizes to you does. If you have a pre-existing belief, then subliminally registering the logo "primes" that belief and puts it into action. That's what the researchers were explaining.
That's why companies like Apple invest in associating the idea of being creative with their products. If you buy into that belief, even on a passive level, then the logo will have some power to prime that belief
this doesnt give any usefull information about the mechanisms of modern advertisment and theyre effect on human behaviour... its just some cut out of context presentation of some random popular science, wich makes a blurry assumption that suggests "applelogo makes people more creative than ibmlogo"
How about this ? Can i let you on,on a litle secret? The money you have in your hands has been proven to be subject to fraud. The Federal reserve bank in the US and world bank for that matter is owned and controled by private banks and which have private interests. Still think Bill gates is the richest man on the earth? Where do all the interest payments go? From all the money in the world? who funded the U.N? ..Zeitgeist the movie. What you dont know kills 50 million a year.
I'm pretty sure there's more experiments using the apple logo and proving that it does make people more creative. And saying that this is payed for by apple is incredibly stupid. What would be their reason for paying for something like this that probably doesn't cost anything, and really wouldn't matter if some guy from Duke said apple makes you more creative?
your pretty sure or you are sure? and it was clearly stated that image of creativity was crafted by the company itself. also, apple doesnt necessarily have to "pay" for the add. if apple has investments in Duke university then there is an incentive for the researchers to cast their sponsor in a positive light. this experiment could very easily have had two different controls. not saying that it is true but rather that it is naive to rule this possibility as being "incredibly stupid".
Yes, I'm sorry for saying it's "incredibly stupid". But there have been other experiments done that show evidence that the apple logo does cause people to be more creative. Obviously they didn't just pick some random logo; I'm sure they put a lot of thought and did a lot of research in deciding on this logo.

But why would a logo cause someone to be more creative?
Can a logo change us as a person?
Change our level of creativity?
Isn't that something you are born with and develop through your life?
But there can be days where a person is more creative than other days - Why?
Maybe all it takes is really something this small.
In conclusion; I could go either ways.
But it sure would be interesting to know the data. "more people" could just mean 51 vs 49 and that surely isn't convincing.
