I think bringing Jumanji to YOU has a lot more of a wild feel to it. Plus, they totally killed Peter's character in the show. Well... maybe not killed, but it is in no way the same character.

Dangers in Jumanji are kinda like those found in some video games where the dangers reset after dealing with them and then have to deal with them all over again when revisiting certain areas.

They didn't, Alan was the only one sucked into the game, he stayed there until Peter rolled a five (because the game said he'd stay in the jungle until the dice read five or eight).

Exactly my point. The people who made this show didn't really put a lot of effort into it. After watching this part, I heard that Alan was in the jungle for almost 23 1/2 years. I know that's a mistake considering the fact that the movie clearly stated several times that he's been in jumanji for twenty-SIX years!

Its different in the tv show then the movie. That happens. I like this better to be honest. It actually takes three seasons (three years) for him to be freed so technicly he WAS trapped there for 26 years before Judy and Peter finally manage to free him by finding out his clue and helping him solve it in the last episode.
