  • I am now deaf from this video

  • Comment removed

  • @northhhigh19 i could not agree more with you on those comments exactly what i thought

  • 69 likes..haha

  • that EQ with either those,Hadley or Grover air horns= very modern sound prob one of the best combos of sirens and the Powercall especially on big squads and res qs the town over has a huge truckCO and its got an EQ and grover air horns awesome sound they go on our mutual aid structure assignments they call it Squad 1 idk why but they used to have a 1988 Pierce lance heavy rescue and ther ladder is equipped with rescue stuff we get em rollin with us on Still alarms and sometimes a Box

  • if hubudub46 is a FF he has to be part of the Wheeling FD, those jokers never use sirens properly. Kinda like FDNY, they just give a toot here and a toot there.

  • the first siren that came on, is that an electronic federal q? or a traditional one

  • great video

  • hubdub or whoever you are... the Rookie you refer to is a 30 year veteran Philadelphia Firefighter, Retired as an acting battalion chief.... So if you have any clue what that means then you will tuck your tail between your legs and never comment on a video like that ever again. For those who ask, Its Elkins Park, PA (Montgomery Co.) we border the not so nice areas of the city of brotherly love (Philly), It is a Powercall Sirens model DX5, the EQ2B does have a foot switch on the officer side

  • @ffemtkeith this guy hubdub has no clue on what he is saying hes obvisouly not a FF... if he is he needs to go back to fireschool... really sirens might distract drivers??? no they warn them to move .... the air horn is on the drivers side for a reason so we can use them... wow what and idiot is all that can be said...

  • @ffemtkeith Tell that bitch how it is, ppl don't realize how hard our job really is so all they do is critasize us

  • many many things wrong here, no need to be blasting the G.D. siren the whole time..it confuses other drivers and does nothing to speed your response. The driver should NEVER take a hand of the wheel...blowing the air horn on top of all the other noise is USELESS! ...Driver should not be driving with his helmet on....Driver should not be driving with his bunker coat on....This guy looks like a wanna be or a rookie!

  • @hububub46 are you even a firefighter? im guessing not bc u have no clue on what the hell ur saying.... sirens are made for a reason to tell people to get out of the damn way...how would it confuse them???? also u have no right what so ever to talk about another FF because im sure you yourself arent perfect...

  • @hububub46 your are deff not a firefighter you have no clue what so ever how a fire dept operates

  • @hububub46 go fuck yourself. I will address all the things you said are "wrong" in this video. 1) He doens't need to have the siren on the whole time? Actually fuck face, yes he does. It doesn't confuse other drivers, it tells them to get the hell out of the way. Do you honesly think any driver is going to get confused from the siren? Idiot. 2) Who are you to say what the driver does? This driver is an experienced firefighter with that department if he's driving. He has more than enough

  • experience to take one hand off the wheel. 3) Depending on the SOP's and SOG's of the department, the driver may be allowed to wear his helmet and bunkers while he's driving. You aren't anybody to tell him otherwise. 4) You, that's right. You are the fucking wanna be firefighter that goes around critiquing other people when you should really be worrying about your own damn self. You're a disgrace.

  • where is this?

  • NICE VIDEO!!!!!!!

  • EQ2B!!!! on manual

  • powercall is made by GE and whelen and powercall sirens

  • What is a "powercall" siren? Is it like a Federal Q or an electronic siren?

  • thats a nice rig

  • sounds like the ones we have in chicago... they should have kept the old ones if you ask me

  • BAD ASS

  • GOD I LOVE THE Q U HIT THAT PERFECT

  • dam you guys are good at getting to the call btw SWEET VIDEO

  • ver nice use of siren. what kind is it?

  • EQ2B

  • nah not the q, like who is the maker of the electronic siren used along with the q

  • oh, that would be the powercall

  • once again, not the name haha but the maker lol

  • Im not sure who makes the powercall.

  • powercall mate.

  • so powercall makes the powercall?

  • general electric makes powercall.

  • Good respsonse!

Powercall is ok, but seriously, Powercall in hyper mode! That just kills the siren!

  • Does it mater what you use clear traffic? My opinion as long as you get there safe and in timely manner its all good.

  • That's what I say: "If it works, then it's good enough."

  • proud to say i ride on pierce....probably because they are made 5 miles from my house and dept.

  • Another great Vid under "Kitchen Fire Response" telling what to do in case of a Kitchen fire. (Otherwise "the effects can be devastating.")

  • its a siren. people get out of the way. it works. who cares what kind it is or if its a imatation of something else. people on the road don't know the difference anyway. When we respond people see a big red truck with lights and a siren that says fire dept. They dont pick and choose because of the siren on the truck. just putting my 2 cents in.

  • im not i big fan of eq2b but it sounds great in this vid

  • awesome video

  • " real fire trucks dont use powercalls " Could not say it better myself. When ever we get a new pierce in we pull the wires out. Good call on going with a pierce tho we have 5 of them at my station. You guys didn't get firecom headsets tho?

  • real fire trucks dont use powercalls

  • The eq2b is made by Federal and is designed to imitate the sound of a Q. And they price it so high I wonder why anyone buys it. The powercall siren was originally made by GE. I have never heard of a siren being controlled by a gas pedal. This truck is probably a diesel and has no 'gas pedal.' It's a separate floor switch.

  • i like how they dont use the wail on the eq2b and powercall kicksass

  • if you spend all that money for a nice pierce you can atleast spend a little extra on a real q2b

  • haha, yes! Electric Q's fucking blow

  • powercall + Q2B = boner

  • those powercall sirens are kind of annoying a q or eq2b and air horns are all a fire truck needs really

  • The e-q2b's are not that bad, we have them on our new stuff.

  • Hey - I heard the BFD is now anti-gun owners - or as the Admin calls it "Being out of uniform!"

Great Union you guys must have - Hey as long as it ain't me ! ? !

  • Not only is wearing your gear a pain when driving, wearing your helmet inside a moving apparatus is 100% against NFPA

  • nfpa aint law or rules, just suggested guidlines.

  • im not really sure about this. the first siren that comes on and is on almost the whole time... is that controlled by the gas pedal. i always ride jump seat so idk

  • thats the q.But you're right mostly the older trucks do that,a lot of new ones have control.

  • strange, am used to the capt, working the horn. driver both hands always on the wheel.

  • i am a firm believer in pull cords for air horns. my dept. just got a crimmson - it has a horn over ride switch - to have the air horn engaged you must flip a switch - and to top that - you honk it just like a car, right on the steering wheel!! I HATE IT! truck is very nice - but I MISS MY 1984 E-ONE pull cord!! our '02 E-1 has the foot peddle for the horn - its not a pull cord - but tons better than on the steering wheel - O***I LIKE THE Q. its not a fire truck ~ untill its got a Q

  • ok so i have to comment you engine is awsome we just got one our selfs a 2007 pierce enforcer and love it and to comment on what some one said about the pull cord pierce is out fitting there rigs now with a foot petal for the horn as well as the pull cord but that might also come down to dept specs as well and quick question how many does your engine seat ours is sett up for 5 and yours looks like it is set up for 7 so i was just wondering

  • Nice truck. Love the powercall!

  • Great Vid!

I plan on changing my LaFrance over from a floor button to pull cord, its hard to use the button on a manual transmission, even just in a parade truck

    ~B~

  • I like the pulleys guys! Don't see that anymore, it's either next to the Q2b or on steering wheel.

I am not at all a fan of the EQ2b, I prefer the Q2b. But, it doesn't sound bad being used with the Powercall, not bad at all. :>)

Oh, is the EQ2b on a switch on the floorboard? It never stays at a constant wail, and, I've seen some depts. do that, to get that authentic Q sound.

'ffemtkeith'...this is great stuff and I hope to see more!!! Hope your new Pierce serves you well! :>)

  • Thanks for the feedback....we have the controller as you can see in addition to a foot pedal...We only went with the q2b for financial reason, much cheaper and long term cheaper maitence, Secondary siren such as a powercall is absoultely necessary though

  • 'ffemtkeith'...You can only run the real Q2b by itself. But, as I mentioned before, it sounds great with the Powercall here!! :>)

  • i love the q

  • is this a code p28

  • What's up with the electronic Q?

The pull cord is the way to go! The more sensitive the better. The air horns on our '82 Hahn have a pull cord with a valve so sensitive that just resting the weight of you hand on the cord gives them blast. Thats how you are supposed to use the stutter tones!

  • WHAT is the driver doing wearing his gear?

  • Most companies require that. what if on the way your truck is to stage and ALL manpower including the driver (if FF certified) is included in the group. if he has no gear, he splits the team up. if he has it on. all he's gotta do is grab a scba and don it walking to the scene...

  • Our drivers keep their gear in the cab or drivers compartment, if they need to go with the crew they don their gear on scene. Most gear today is too bulky for the driver properly handle a rig, just dont't think it is that safe.

  • Or maybe it was cold out. I personally only wear my bunker pants, put coat and helmet behind seat.

  • In my town they wear most all their gear, less the jacket. Sometimes you don't have 2 minutes to pull on your gear at a scene, especially if it's a working fire. *shrug* everyone does it different

  • what is a First Responder?

  • your kidding right?

  • you asking me if I am kidding ? why such a bad question what do they do

  • They are what it says the "First Responders" to an incident.

  • well sh!# that answers a lot !!! geeez since i know now what they do. I should apply for this job and tell them rsblaker told me to be there first. that all i know what to do .

  • you have issues dude...hope your not in the fire/ems/police service

  • no just a helicopter pilot. You got issues dude can explain worth crap.. you probably some dumb ass who watches those Fake wrestlers .. so thick headed you can ever think of the question . you probably don't even know the answer cause you are avoiding to answer what the job title for a first responder is..

  • the inside of the truck looks sick. lucky you guys to get such a newe nice truck!! keep it all up.

  • awsome video!

  • hey Keith can u get more video of this truck and its horns? haha they are awesome

  • Is that a electric 2q? Instead of the tradtional 2q. It sounds good, I love the cord, wish Our trucks still had them, they are on the floor or on the wheel,

  • LAYNARDS ARE WHAT THE CORD IS CALLED.

  • sounds nothing like q2b. mechanical pushats better warninghes air out at high r.p.m.'s.t

  • Thats gay that the county won't let us film anymore Co. 9 Newmidway

  • i like the cord instead of foot pedal or steering wheel

  • yeah, the cord is awesome, we have all cords, except for 352 and 332. they only have the button on the drivers side.

  • ya htat is sweet i run wit a co that has the quantum they r nice

  • sorry for my spelling long night i was on scene for 10 hrs barn fire. but i like at the end of this vid u guys r going full blast .helllll yaaaaa

  • great video ! Nice Q siren, and good to see you use all you got !! get out of the way !! ;D

please go and see my 2 new videos, comments and/or rattings are greatly welcome!

  • GREAT VIDEO ! and fantastick sirens you are running there ! i hate people that says no electronic interferences with the Q but if you have something to tell people to get the **** out of the way then use it all !! i dont care about the noice !

  • Where your full crew, working fire and your missing 2 people, lmao, jk, nice vid bro, love the EQ2B, i don't understand why everyone does'nt like them, i for one like them, is'nt bulky like a mechanical and sounds indenticle

  • OH YEAH, that is sweet, my fd needs to replace our 88 open cab lance, how do you like the enforcer?

  • step up to the Quantum

  • im srry but i am traditional guy u need a realy q and tell me that truck is at least red?

  • what you dont think that yellow trucks are as good

  • code 3 has the "screaming eagle" my old co has one they sound nice

  • Wow nice vid, I never really was a big fan of the EQ2B, but I have to say it sounds pretty nice. I guess I've never really heard it all cranked up that way. However, all our engines and the ladder have the old Q2B. Nothing beats the sounds.

  • I for one like the EQ2b because of 2 things: 1.) It sounds like the Q without all the power. and 2.) it doesnt take up room on the bumper either mounted on top or recessed.

nice powercall btw! hope the new truck works well for ya!

  • thanks!

  • hey how do u like the new rig

  • Nice, we are running into some minor glitches with the onboard computer and it saying wait to start after being a few minutes into response but pierce will be fixing....other then that we love um!

  • We had similar problems with out new E-One, the computer kept messing with the trucks idle settings. And then it started messing with the pump (Its the kind with the new push button pre-set throttle...thing) But they were easy fixes.

  • this was a working fire? you guys arnt getting ready ? wow waht deparment is this again? all your worried abotu is the video? why arnt you getting ready or planing what you will be doing when you get their?

  • we all know are assigned roles, packs were cracked before moving, no tools in the cab so we are ready... why should you make things more complicated then they need to be? KISS

  • While im not a huge fan of the EQ2b i can say it does sound fairly close to a real Q2b. A squad in my area uses them on their GMC ambulances. While i dont feel its as powerfull as the real Q i agree with keith in his statement of it being a need/want purchase. Also the amount of siren power needed doesnt always warrant a Huge siren. Tradition or not

  • How many models of Federal Q do they make?

  • Federal Signal only makes 2 at this time, The Q2b (traditional mechancial) the EQ2B (electronic 200W heard here). Whelen makes a few models of the Executioner which is electromechanical, and on the 250 model sirens with a Q are similar to the Eq2b but 100w, code 3 also makes a electromechanical i cant remember the name right now...

  • ok you can stop touching yourself.... i am well framiliar with range and effects of sirens, and you should know that you out run the effect range of a q at 40 mph, its not perfect. The main reason for switching was financial benefits.Maybe in your dept. you have shit loads of money to piss away on UNNECCESSARY equipment.Next youll prob. tell me that a rotoray is the end all be all.Look up why FDNY doesnt use Qs and or the impending lawsuits agains F/S then talk to me.

  • wtf why do you guys have a Qb2 crap siren.... it sounds horrible

  • well son, its finacially responsible, it is signifcantly cheaper then a traditional. Secondly in long term interest there is desires to stem away from mechanical or electromechanical becuase of the hearing damage associated with them both to firefighters and the general public. Lastly if your are going to comment on something know what your talking about its an EQ2B, the Q2b is the fed. sig. model number for the traditional q.

  • Responding to 106 Webster Ave? Nice work with the powercall.
