The first time I saw POTO, Marie Danvers was Christine and John Cudia was the Phantom. It's great to see them in high resolution even if the circumstances are a bit different. All three leads are so strong here. :)
*sigh* Remember your first time. First phantom I ever saw live. Never gonna forget it (granted I've only ever seen two). Whether he's the best is debatable, but her certainly nails down the raw emotion and sadness of the Phantom. I've always loved how he pauses, as if horrified at almost striking the girl he loves, after "You try-". Never really seen anyone do it quite like that, and it was even more saddening when I saw it live. Over all, he's possibly the most heartbreaking Phantom.
I love Gary's Phantom, he still makes me want to cry after all this time. He has such a beautiful voice! I cried so much when I saw him live, and he still brings tears to my eyes after all these years. Thank you for putting up.
(I think some is jealous that you got see them live, and they didn't.)
@Melstrife I completely agree! No need to be jealous, I've never seen Gary or Beth live unfortunately. I didn't record this, but I am thankful to whoever did so that I can experience how amazing they are! I did however see John as the Phantom two summers ago, and he was incredible.
@r3dscarf I did get to see Gary and Beth live. They were my first Phantom and Christine to see live. The connection between them both was so amazing, there were no words to describe it. It is interesting to see John as Raoul, but its said that all Phantoms start as Raoul before they become Phantoms, and the Raouls are the understudies of Phantoms anyway.
