You're right about the mumbling, but I don't think he was moving too fast at all. Also, this video is definitely not meant to teach beginners. There are enough beginner tutorials out there, Erik wouldn't bother making another one. It would be too time consuming (it's already two videos) and unnecessary to explain notation (R, l, u') as you mentioned, because you should already know that in advance.

no what i meant was he doesn't explain the algs he does. and if he isn't going to put his notations up, he should at least move slower so you can see it because his camera is of poor quality. people are going to come to his video wanting to learn, regardless of their skill level, and i think that should've been kept in mind when he posted it. also, he seems to be talking more to himself than to the camera. people would learn a lot more from a former WR holder if he considered all that.

Just a couple of questions (I hope they're not stupid ones!)1. How did you get your hands on a v-cube? 2. How did you get your 4x4x4 (in part 1 of these videos) to turn so smoothly? Mine is made by Rubik's and it locks up so much that I easily lose 45 seconds per solve trying to turn it cleanly.

the alg at 5:30 is:

l' U2 l' U2 F2 l' F2 r U2 r' U2 l2

set-up: the two you are trying to fix are in the uf and ub positions, and the semi-pairs are towards the left. you will know its right if making an r of r' will complete a tredge pairing but mess up the others.

Many systems are LIKE the system I use but not the same, there are mostly some minor but essential differences. I think that Arnauds tutorials about centres are already good to get you started...
