She is undoubtedly to best athlete in the world. To say she is awesome is an understatement. Her most marathon time would qualify her for the US Olympic trials (if she was American) and she did it as part of an Ironman, which is effing crazy. She could likely make the UK Olympics team as a swimmer (open water), cyclist, or marathoner if she focused on just one sport. That is how good she is.
Not my type of woman, although she is a machine! No one can catch her. I also wonder what the long term side effects are for this much strain on your heart and body, my physio told me he knew a guy who used to compete and can't even walk a round of gold these days?
@29teepee It all depends on how well you take care of your body through the process. When you watch Ironman live on television, they have participants/qualifiars who have been racing the Ironman distance for 20 plus years. I'm sure it's a combination of diet, sleep, monthly check-ups, etc. The better you take care of your body, the better it will take care of you! But good awareness on your part, people should really know how to take care of themselves when they compete and train.
All of you, ignorant commenters, I would give anything, everything just to convince her to be my coach. And to have her "gross" body and its capabilities, I would give 15 years of my life without hesitation.
The lighting, angles, and apparent application of some type of sheen were used in these shots to accentuate how lean and cut she is. Like a bodybuilder on stage, Chrissie doesn't "look" that way all the time. Plus, the girl can flat out hammer it. To each his or her own....
@avonbylaura She's probably the greatest endurance athlete of either sex that ever lived!!! Why should she put wieght on to slow her down an please you fucking american idiots who think getting dressed up in a crash helmet and padding to play rugby is acceptable.
Some of the comments on this page are quite frankly cretinous to a sickening degree.
Anybody can play golf, tennis, football, rugby. But there are know Gaurantees you'll finish an Ironman. PERIOD.

I think it was Chrissie herself who borrowed the phrase; "Those who say it can't be done, shouldn't get in the way of those DOING it!"
