I own 2 SS scopes - a fixed 10x and a 20x. They are built like tanks - virtually tough as nails. If they build the same toughness into the 5-20x as their other scopes, I think this scope could be a winner.
@skindresser I bought the only scopes they had, some years ago, because there were a number of people that compared it to more expensive glass, such as the very same Leupold I now have. There wasn't any other SS scope other than those.
Now, they're making a new scope, everyone's saying it's good, but once bitten, twice shy. Of course, when I called the number on the pamphlet that came with it, they said they couldn't do anything about it since I had mounted it already.
@skindresser Semantics. But still, it's more expensive than that. And price isn't necessarily equal to quality, I found that out with the first SS scope I bought, despite everyone giving it shining reviews.
@benchmstr I grew up with a few Leupolds, and I do sort of like them, and they don't make anything appropriate for that price. However, when it came to mounts, I did go Nightforce there.
Can anyone help me find one of these cat tails. I went to SWFA site and can not find one. This would be handy to quickly adjust magnification for field of view.
Interesting. With how badly my previous SS scopes performed, I'd be extremely reluctant to consider anything from them, but it sounds like they've made something I shouldn't overlook.
@AreThereNoMoreNames This is a $1500 scope versus the $300 models we've both had. Although I'll say I've never had any problems with my 20X. I know you had severe issues with yours.
Lowlight sure knows how to drive that rifle... that's more impressive than this scope.

@skindresser I'd consider a Leupold 8.5-25x50 ER/T to be pretty high end glass. I picked mine up for $1300.

@AreThereNoMoreNames you paid too much....
benchmstr 7 months ago
@benchmstr It's the ER/T, not the LR/T. It was a pretty good deal. Not sure you can find them for anything less than that.

@AreThereNoMoreNames just think....you could have got a nightforce and joined the mens club

@AreThereNoMoreNames i also grew up on leupolds...then got tired of paying diamond prices for cubic zirconia

@skindresser For that price, it's a bit of a hard sell. It's more expensive than some very high-end glass.

Would love to get one of these in Australia, what a shame SWFA will not ship internationally...
