I wouldn't disagree with anything said here and I'll also add that this is a good system for any type of grittier TV drama show and it's a nice system for playing 'normal' people without feeling they are underpowered.
The NPC writeups are particularly good and the production quality is superb.
I honestly have little interest in licensed products (Robert E. Howard stuff excepted), but it is good to hear about different systems and how those systems are being used... I'd like to see a Cortex game based around an original IP... having said all that, hands up if you think The Prisoner would make a good setting...
I'd like to see a review of some Castles and Crusades stuff. I don't know if Kurt plays it though and he seems to do a lot of reviews of stuff he likes and plays (which makes sense. Why review stuff you dislike or don't play?) and I'm not so sure C&C is his kinda thing.
Here is the thing about the cortex games, if you are into the show, you will be into the game... which is why i have all the serenity books, and none of the others...although i did think about doing the battlestar galactica game, but i never did...
Hey I am not trying to bust kurts balls here to much just seems that the last dozen or so reviews have all been SW. I like SW. I think it is a good system even though I prefer Castles and Crusades and D&D4e to SW. I think it would be nice to see a SW review and then something else reviewed... alternate between

I guess I've been down the road a bit further than some of you folks. Admittedly, when you've played everything from 1E AD&D to GURPS to 4E, you look for something a bit rational that doesn't require a rule here and there for every little thing. And I known you all want to see a review of L5R (which, is pretty good) to Aces and Eights (it's interesting), still SW needs to have a horn tooted all year long and for the next few years. It's just about perfect. At the cost, it's all you ever need
The systems I play and sometimes run are: D&D 3.5, Star Wars SAGA, Star Wars Revised Core Rules, GURPS 4th Edition, Shadowrun 4th Edition, Monte Cook's World of Darkness, New World of Darkness, Spycraft 2.0, d20 Modern, HERO 6th Edition, and Mutants & Masterminds 2nd Edition.

Mutants & Masterminds 2nd Ed. is a very fine game and one of my favorites. I used to own several of the Star Wars Saga Ed. books but I recently traded them in for a few Call of Cthulhu supplements.
I personally woul like to see a review of Mage the awakening, since I myself have mixed feelings of the book, I already own it, but it seems like a little out of context, and kinda screwd, I would like to know about different games, specially in the "adventure" genre

I'm sorry folks, but Savage Worlds rocks. I realize you may be interested in other games, like Coretex or even 4E, but if you give SW a chance you'll love it. Frankly, afte so many fricken years of dealing with BS rules SW is a godsend. It allows you to role-play more than roll-play, and I love it. More Savage Worlds! More Savage Worlds! Wooohoooo. Yes, I'm a shill, but hey, I love Savage Worlds.
Good thing that you like it, but there are other things outside SW, and seing only reviews of SW, well they should change the name instead of "game geeks" to "savage world geeks" and do review to SW products, the idea is to give different systems a change to be known and review some of the "bigger" systems and some of their products.
Focusing on just one its a little boring for us that want new things of roleplaying games.

Admittedlly, that's true. I would like to see a Hackmaster Basic review, even though it isn't SW. I thought I'd offer a defense against the cacophany of something other than SW.
Like Rogue Trader, for instance. I have an opinion on that; it's a bit dull. You get command of a huge ship with tens of thousands of crew on it! Great googly moogly! What's to stop you from sending wave after wave of crew ala Zapp Brannigan at every little problem. Yeesh!
To be fair to Kurt (and to help educate those with a weary eye toward Savage Worlds), only 17 out of Kurt's 132 episodes are about SW products. That's only about 12% of his total reviews. He's done reviews for 115 (minus a few vid recaps or from Cons) other products. It's just that a lot of his SW stuff is more recent in everyone's minds, so people forget that he's already done A LOT of other RPGs. Cut him a break, eh?
I've heard really good things about it. It apparently actually manages to turn Savage Worlds (an otherwise very pulpy, action-y game) into a great Lovecraftian experience...or so some reviewers claim. I'd love to see more in-depth coverage of it.

good review kurt but its about time we had the bad kurt back your two parter about 4th d&d has over 30 thousand hits your 'nice' reviews bearly get 4 thousand hits..just stating facts!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Well, to be fair I'd be willing to bet that most of those hits come from the simple fact that the video is tagged "D&D". In just about any RPG forum on the internet, D&D and D&D-related material tend to get more attention and discussion than all other RPGs combined. Sad but true.
I agree. I like D&D (2nd and 3rd; sorta meh to 4th) but would be nice if other systems could get a little more of the spotlight. Many are down right solid systems that work very well.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I say that because there are literally thousands of RPGs out there (and I would suggest that at least a couple hundred of them are "good quality" games...and yet a vast (and I mean *vast*) majority of RPG discussion revolves around a single game. Granted, it was the founder of the hobby as it exists today but it is still only one game and it severely dominates the community.

Interesting break down:
d20/D&D: 23 episodes (17%)
SW: 18 episodes (13%)
WoD: 14 episodes (10%)
CoC/BRP: 12 episodes (9%)
Unisystem: 11 episodes (8%)
My figures could be slightly off but it's and interesting experiment. :-)

Supernatural RPG has nothing to do with Savage worlds. It uses Cortex.

Just wanted to thank you Kurt for your show, lot of new stuff that I have run my group through which you introduced me to here on the show.
Just ran my first CoC adventure, on the edge of Darkness, and my group loved it (even though they all died.
Planing on trying out Savage Worlds next, specifically the "Necessary Evil adventures".
Thank you for introducing me (and my group) to a whole new world of RPGs.
