this is sooooo good i cant beleive it. miku miku in japanese and classical style is the best. maybe one century we'll get to listen to a good english language version. it sorta sounds like shes saying meow meow nya nya meow meow. awsome video.
@595o "Musikalisches Opfer"? --- Yes, it's the last piece (six-part fugue or ricercare) of the suit "Musikalisches Opfer". (Does that answer your question?)
This is probably the best Bach adaptation around here.
I can't believe how beautiful this is.
Because all the voices have perfectly the same quality, it's like looking at a lake where water is so transparent that you can see the bottom. Aloso an attempt to make instrumantal lines to "sing" is a good one. That reveals more secrets of Bach. I purely enjoy it. You (and Miku) deserve a credit for doing this. Thank you so much.
@bernhardfranz "he is dying it is an unfinished work"---I guess you mistake this piece for the last fugue of "the Art of Fugue". Bach did complete this set of music ("Musical Offering"), in which this fugue is the last piece. Later he composed another set of music ("The Art of Fugue"), for which the last fugue was left unfinished.
How do you make this? I know how to make the singing, but what I don't know is how to make Miku show up there and actually blink and sing with her lip syncing with the music. If anyone know PLEASE REPLY...
kinda works, obvioulsy like this you can control the timbre and dynamics of the voices, which can't really be done sufficiently on a harpsicord. Makes me wonder why people always seem to choose this instrument for this specific piece in particular, and not the fortepiano or even the piano.
@chrish12345 Because the piano forte or piano was not around when bach composed this. Thus dynamics wasn't really taken into consideration, the only way make something louder was to add more voices.
@TheGerman6th The piano et forte aka pianoforte aka fortepiano existed in 1700 when Bach was 15 years old. He played Silbermann pianofortes in the 1730s. This 6-part Ricercar is from the Musical Offering, inspired by Bach's famous visit in 1747 to the Prussian court where he improvised fugues on the king's Silbermann pianofortes. The king had 15. The M.O.'s 3-part Ricercar is a worked out version of the 3-part fugue Bach improvised for the court on pianoforte. Bach also brokered pianofortes.
This is what's astounding about some of bach.. play it on a computer with a strange sound, and it still sounds amazing. And it also has a clarity of sound that a human player has a hard time achieving.
Somehow it manages to be hilarious and sublime at the same time. Originally I wanted to introduce my daughter to a "plain" rendition of the Ricercar, for comparison with Webern's orchestration of it. But once I had stumbled on your zany version, I was hooked and completely forgot my original goal! Keep up the good work here and please don't be an "engineer perhaps"!
Well, what can I say? Bach is the Doc! His music can be interpreted in just about every way possible. I really enjoyed this! Bach makes everything sound good! Could you do Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, or maybe either the Toccata and Fugue in D minor, or the Passacalia and Fugue?

For instrumental pieces, where there are no words, Vocaloids should perhaps use the words to the "lorem ipsum" to add some gravitas.

MjhrkhnAA 2 years ago 6

Because you get less flak from authentic instrument nerds that way; it's the safer and less intellectually dangerous option.

We instrument nerds are a rather picky bunch. But very few can argue with the results, such as this masterpiece!
