  • Basically he told us he doesn't know what to do. Well, maybe that's a revelation every philosopher should reach -- like some ancient Greek philosopher wrote "I know only that I don't know anything".

    Listen to his fragmentary words a bit more carefully: Zizek's point is not "we know that we don't know"; his claim is this: "we can't make 100% secure decisions; nonetheless, we need to act on the basis of knowledge from the past; after doing so, we need to retroactively appropriate and "know" what we have done; at present, we are moving relatively too fast without properly knowing what we have done in the past."
