  • Zelaya the big pupet of Cahez y Castro....

  • Sorry "REAL" News, this time you are completly WRONG!!! 90% of Hondurans are happy Zelaya is OUT. We 90% support our new goverment. Zelaya destitution was the best that could have happened to Honduras. Ahhh and the white shirt people are the good guys supporting our new goverment.

  • You're lieing and you know it.

  • Wnxsilence, you don't have not even the slight idea whats happening in my country. You are in Russia for Christ sake, what do you know. NOTHING

  • You are probably one of those weakthy Honduran aristocrats who benefit off the poverty and misery which Zelaya was trying to solve, before the illegal coup.

You are lieing, Zelaya has vast support among over 78% of the Honduran population..including almost all working class, and peasants.

The only people against Zelaya are the class of rich pigs like you, who exploit and opress, and refuse to give up a single penny for society.

So don't lie, you are fooling no one yusefdiek.

  • wnxsilence, I feel sorry for you my friend. Sincerly, I hope you knew the real thruth here in Honduras. Zelaya is the most FAT PIG Honduras can have, he stole billions from the goverment THAT'S a FACT. Zelaya is a Welthy Aristrocrat from the day he was born, and uses the poor to achieve power and steel from the goverment. I agree in socialist goverments like Brasil, Chile & several more countries. But Venezuela, Cuba and Zelaya are goverments that only benefits their own pocket. Don't be fooled

  • ITS TRUE

most of the Hondurians are happy that zelaya is no more here

  • Segun CID Gallup 46% esta en contra del golpe, 41 a favor,, no lo sabias porque el diario que te hace estupido en 5 dias LA PRENSA lo oculto.. according to CID Gallup, 46% is againts the coup, 41 in favor, the ones in favor is because the massive campaign to make an ilegal act appear legal (insult to intelligence)..People woke up, too bad you dont want to see alternative media.

  • Actually 52% of the population voted for Mel Zelaya back in 2006 however back then he ran on conservative right wing platform. If he had been honest with hondurans and exposed his socialist/communist agenda he would have lost the election. Who looks like an idiot now Cayetano?

  • I think back then, Pepe Lobo and his far-right death penalty ratification struggle was deemed to be lost, as his victory against Zelaya. Had Zelaya exposed his third-way agenda, because social reforms are not necessarily socialism, it would have meant his own death sentence by the nationals and neoliberals, plus the military who has always in the history of Honduras in the last 100 years followed their command with devotion, as the US corp /republican agenda. Hey ask carias, paz, galvez, lopez

  • The main problem with US is this strawman argument called "communism" and anyone wanting to make their petcorporations pay the txpes to the state that they should, then be prepared for a coup d'ètat, because it is immediately labelled "communism". Putting limits to corporations, so they don't exploit our natural resources and people, is certainly not communism in any book. But then a little group of people will deem this as something bad, since it's not to their convenience...

  • Also: last time I checked, Micheletti himself ratified the ALBA treaty, so did many other putschist Congressmen. Hypocresy? No doubt about it. Stupidity?Definitely. Chávez is bad but the Petromoney excelent, yet no one said anything about it and Maduro was even bragging about Honduras being a part of ALBA and Petrocaribe(being called "leftist) in La Prensa last year. He also asked Chavez to lower the oil prices to Central American countries. lol

  • The REAL NEWS?? HAHA.. give me a break.

  • SUCH LIERS AND ASKING FOR DONATIONS?!!!

Meddling and mixing information to DESINFORM who ever is watching this video from so called 'real news' what a joke

  • this whole thing is pure BS.

but i guess for you guys, ignorance is bliss

  • LIES, LIES, LIES! 90% of the Honduran population support the new government as it's Honduras only chance to kee democracy alive. Zelaya is being used by Chavez to expand his New Socialist agenda which systematically destroys all democratic institutions! Long live democracy in Honduras!

  • Unless proven by a referendum, these allegations are false. Fascists used anti-communist propaganda to expand terror in citizens. It's quite effective. If there is such thing as a Chavez Socialist agenda, there's also the armed forces of terror opressing citizens who don't think like you.

    No pasarán, fascistas!

  • Well, if we follow your way of thinking liberties unless proven by a referendum everyone in Honduras believes in Santa Claus and want their country to become as communist as Cuba and they want to have no freedoms whatsoever! Hey while you are at it get rid of all the privately owned radio and TV stations just like Chavez is doing in Venezuela! If you believe in this type of government why dont you move to Venezuela or Cuba? Hypocrite communist wanna be!

  • "LIES, LIES, LIES! 90% of the Honduran population support the new government as it's Honduras only chance to kee democracy alive."

So you're telling us that 10 percent of the population (at most) voted for Zelaya as president. Your comment doesn't even rise to the level of idiocy.

  • Right. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the same can be said about Micheletti supporters. I've been told by several who have been there, who are not Zelaya supporters that they are spending thousands of lempiras in caps, t-shirts, banners, and even drinks and desserts. Who is paying for the printed propaganda posters? Micheletti himself ratified the ALBA treaty.

  • "ALBA is really a giant drug cartel headed by Castro/Chavez, operating in cahoots with Islamic terrorists to destroy the U.S."

"Destroy"? Are you on crack or something?

"Chavez's minions like Zelaya are involved in drug trafficking."

Uribe's minions in Colombia, a favoured US ally (with the worst human rights record in the hemisphere) are up to their necks in drug trafficking. Unless you also show equal indignation towards that, then you're just a worthless hypocrite.

  • If there had been enough of you, you could have won several elections by now, but you didn't.

You have the slavery thing back to front, you are proposing removing governments that are the result of the free expression of the electorates' will.

  • What do you think about Zelaya charging $80,000 to Honduras' government card during four days after the coup. The gov't had to pay the balance to cancel it.

As the person in the video said, Zelaya promised but did nothing about the mining situation, that is the same case for the claims by other social sectors. Agrarian reform, AfroHonduran land claims, etc. UNFULFILLED PROMISES. Three years and a half in power and did nothing to transform the social structures, why should we bring him back?

  • If you have another candidate who can do these things and in which the people believe then ..sure...absolutely...your point is well taken..however, its besides the issue at this moment as this could and should be done without the military or the franchise owners or the corporate interests behind this coup...

  • WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THE HEAD OF THE HONDUREAN MILITARY COUP/DICTATORSHIP TRAVELLING TO MIAMI AND MIAMI BEACH LAST WEEKEND WHILE OBAMA THE COLONIST MAKES SPEECHES ABOUT "DEMOCRACY"....???????

Miami is the ass of the world, it has all the anti-progressive, anti-intellectuals, terrorists, defectors, and rejects of Latin American progressive movements

NOTHING has "changed", not a thing

  • Kissinger and Brezhinski run Obama.

  • free-market capitalism..corporate imperialism ...is what runs obama..

and the other two and etc..

...we can "change" the guys and gals at the board but the machine and what drives it is what needs change...the state should be re-enforced...the public sector built up..all privatization efforts of the military industrial complex stopped...pull out of every single combat troop in every single engaged sovereign nation..increase spending for infrastructural and social sectors..protection of markets

  • It maybe the ass of the world, but dang what a hot ass it is!

  • independence movements of Latin America have always been labelled "communist" or "socialist".much in the same manner that independence movments in Palestine or Iraq are called "terorism".yet Cuba, Venezuela,Iraq, Palestine, Bolivia, none of these countries have any military troops occupying or invading any other countries at this time.1.3 million have been killed since the invasion of Iraq, still have over 100,000 troops there and we are going round calling others "terrorists" and "dictators"...

  • Good info on an issue and country that gets NO media attention and awareness from Canadian news corps/press.

  • Marxists

  • Insightful comment. Thank you for your wisdom.

  • One word of truth beats 1000 pages of lies.

  • GoldCorp is part of one of my mutual fund packages. Very interesting information. Also, interesting as a Canadian, to see Canada's involvement in the coup.

  • What Money and Power can do in world ..He! You don't believe it until you live it...for someones "nonsense" for US REALITY!, REAL FACTS!.... I'll keep my subscription

  • This "nonsense" as you call it could be the most important issue in the defense of democracy in Latinamerica, the right isn't sitting idle while the governments try to implement some social justice. This is the first chapter in "neo-golpismo" and has to be stopped before it begins. I have to agree that NLE 09 is as an urgent matter as it gets but can't disregard other pressing matters as this one.

  • Anyone claiming to be the "REAL NEWS" should atleast be covering the NLE 09 drill and Many other new findings.... but no, they cover nonsense. Unsubscibing

  • Well said Brett

  • Right!

  • Re: your private message (I guess, since I don't see it here), elgringo, no I'm not defending Batista's govt. Cubans had (2) Constitution giving rights to the PEOPLE since the island gained independence. As for Mr. Lansky, Cuban Mafia, etc. There's mafias everywhere, even in places where most citizens are not hungry and drug stores store aspirins for people who don't have access to dollars.... Look around: Russian Mafia, Narco Mafia, you name it. We had Cosa Nostra right here didn't we?

  • Cuba was invaded in 1898 by the US, taking over from Spain as colonial master and only gained independence from the US in 1959.

The rest was direct or indirect rule.

  • So it hasn't changed much then..

  • Then why is America so involved in helping the coup leaders?

  • Because America is always sticking it's nose where it shouldn't. Didn't you notice?

  • You obviously didn't actually listen to the news segment, or maybe you just have selective hearing. Watch the segment again and see how your own logic holds up.

  • Mr. Reich's has 3 children, the last one is the 3rd Reich !

  • Long live "the establishment of 21 century socialism, and ALBA".

    Chavez and Castro, SI !

  • I wish socialism would just hurry up and die already!

  • @capnrabbit

Totally wrong time to utter retarded and silly utterances. International socialism is only just begun; get over it. The action against Zelaya is one of despair by (parts of-) the ruling class, VERY much in the defensive. It will make no difference at all that those Putschistas are being backed by Washington.

    : ]

  • Socialism has always failed wherever it's been tried. That it gains enough power to do it's damage is not a good thing, it's a reason to fear and avoid it. Did you people learn nothing from the collapse of communism, which is ultimately what socialism aims at? Socialism is a form of parasitism, relying on productive capitalism to feed the unproductive. The best you can hope for is that it will drag on for another few generations before dying completely - probably from killing the host again..

  • @ Capn

There's no way of escaping it. The peoples of the world have discovered the strength and the total pivotal importance of socialism for their future, indeed for their survival. Capitalism always parasited on its host, the majority of mankind, but it will never be able to continue this. Latin-America is a fait accompli and will now serve as a paradigm for other continents.

I lived to see it. Mankind is bound for reason and a just order. We want it and we can it. "Yes, we can"... ; ]

  • @Capn

To end. What do YOU have to fear? Relax, I wanna bet you'll survive it, too...

  • Socialism/communism has already killed millions, wasted trillions in wealth and cemented government rule over everything from toothpaste to toilet flushes. YOU might consider an 'orderly' world to be nice and safe because you don't have to think. Thinkers recognise the dangers of giving people power over people. If people cannot be trusted to do the right thing, why give them power?

  • @capnrabbit

Take it easy. I have an MA in philosophy so I can do the ol' brain thing quite a bit.

Maybe you can't think because it wears you out, pop.

So you switch again to the "dangers of giving people power". Do you know you are here undermining the foundations of democracy? Talk about thought.

You are just a troll on forums like these to spread hate and lies about important events. Essentially, you are pathetic.

  • Ad homs change nothing except your standing as a thinker. Philosophy is over rated, try looking at reality a bit more often.

  • @capnwobblit

    1. I did not state that phil. is SO important, but it has much to do with one's ability to think (which you contended, if you still remember that);

    2. I do look at reality : socially and economically for instance, and that learns me a lot about global capitalism. Millions of others share this 'look' at reality too. I absolutely don't take the experiences and thoughts of these people for granted;

  • 3.That you switch from your (essentially irrational) hatred of socialism to a 'critique' of democracy is exactly what happened in L-A for decades! It is nothing less than really tell-tale.

You kicking up a fuss here changes nothing either.

  • when you use blanket terms like socialism/communism, you actually oversimplify the discussion. fundamentally, what is going on in the parts of latin america that you would refer to as becoming 'socialized' are in fact standing up for the beliefs/rights they believe in and have since before the europeans showed up. business interests and their media then use terms like socialism to demonize them when it is more representational than our own 'democracy.' that's why chavez etc win democratically

  • Thats funny, that's just what I've recently been thinking about Capitalism.

  • Shame on the corporations - especially the Canadian one in question.

    Bullshit business as usual!

    Grrr!

  • Why's it in question? Do you have ANY proof the coup had anything do with such stuff? 'We have learned' and allegations is not proof. Just ask the people who did the coup, it's not a secret why.

  • It's no secret, but it's based on a lie. The hollow words of Clinton and Obama are in stark contrast to the (in)action of the State Dept., i.e. more lies.

  • What 'action' should they take? Anything they do is going to hurt the people of Honduras, not help them. What do you suggest, starve them? Bomb them? Listen to what it says right at the beginning - the law and constitution demand immediate arrest of anyone even proposing to change it. Otherwise you end up like America, where the constitution is toilet paper

  • What is your evidence for him trying to foil the (American sponsored) constitution?

In any case, a constitution not founded on the values and aspirations of the countries population is worthless. The coup was about averting a popular constitution.

As for action, the US is to all intents and purposes recognising the coup makers in opting for 'dialogue'. Hardly surprising since the coup came straight from the School of the Americas handbook. Do you think this coup happened without a nod from US?

  • The fact he was arrested for it is a clue, no?

  • No.

  • The fact he wasn't "arrested" (which implies a legal process, absent here but for in the dictatorship's PR) but instead exiled at gunpoint might be a clue to you if you decided to pick up on it.

  • The constitution, for what it's worth, protects the right to free speech, and to demonstrate. The coup mongers have SUSPENDED the constitution in addition to violating it and the Honduran people (a separate entity) in numerous ways, which is ELOQUENT in describing their constitutional credentials.

  • the cuban "constitutution" wasnt worth the paper it was printed on.

    bad example

  • excellent job Jesse, invaluable perspective ...which obviously you wont see on tv very often if ever

  • There taking your land there taking your freedom fight.

  • Mobilize and fight.

  • wow, actual reporting- something the msm forgot to do between micheal jackson and the he said she said crap they think is "politics"

  • America having an African-American president makes this all better. ;)

  • Hopefully, this gets out there and more people become aware of what's going on.

  • All this control. Bless the people. We are getting mining law reform in the US also. Global plan on track.

  • When they repeal the long outdated mining law of 1872 then I can believe there is some real change in USA mining law. Until then it's "business as usual".

  • very thorough report, guys. nice to see reporters doing their job for a change.

  • yeah, but the problem is not enough people know about it, the traditional media still has the majority of the viewership
