I loved and still love this game. But the only problem with it is I feel we're getting about 65% of what this game could've been. We never really GO to Montreal, just an office complex above and below it. We never visit Upper Heng-Sha, but we visit Lower Heng-Sha twice (a tenuous plot-point and one that made my heart sink when I heard I was going back instead of somewhere new, and the second visit seems so sad and empty and rushed...) I think they planned more cities but had to pull back.
When I play video games I'm TERRIFIED OF DYING, even if I have infinite lives. I love how I can save every five seconds, as well as be stealthy. I also learned to just kill everything that moves, rather than using that useless Tranquilizer gun. I'm learning a little more about my game style as I play.

For example, it (and the original Deus Ex) talk about REX-84; in DXHR, specifically, you find some mentions in emails and PDAs found in that FEMA internment camp you get to infiltrate, and also that crazy conspiracy nut radio host talks about it at some point. Now go ahead and look up REX-84 on Wikipedia - you might be very unpleasantly surprised if you haven't done so before.

@Intranetusa It's just you. The concept of having augmentations (including specifically dermal armor, increased speed and strength etc) was already fully explored in the very first Deus Ex game, released in 2000 - eight years before Crysis.
If i was mashed up .. id be pretty chuffed to be resurrected and have awesome augments for free ... i mean its not like they look bad or anything .. like some of the harvesters ... jensens augments are mint ...

@gongal i never even heard of the original Deus Ex before getting this game, after i played just 3 hours of Deus EX:HR i went online and found the original and bought it....this reminds me so much of the Metal Gear Solid from the original playstation...and many aspects of this game are inspired from MGS however its overall a phenominal game and i KNOW that all great games have roots.

They explore the issue of human cybernetics really well. you preface the game by showing how people are exploited by the companies who make these augmentations then you play as adam jenson and it shows you how augmentations benefit those who have them.

@mikser6666 Deus Ex 1 had bad (Even for it's time) graphics, and yet it managed to still suck people in, and is said to have one of the best atmospheres in video game history. You know why? One word: Interactivity. Almost every object in the world could be interacted with, Most NPCs had many lines of dialog, and Newspapers and PDAs everywhere that could be read, and hinted the games backstory. That's what makes a good atmosphere. How shiny the lights look is just a bonus.

Give me Deus Ex can prove to be difficult at some parts, but I still find the game immensely fun. It's not too difficult, but it offers a challenge.

@polimonsta i love deus ex, but nothing can compare the mgs series plotline :D, the only thing that can come somewhat close to mgs story is the original deus ex and maybe heavy rain :P

the mgs storyline is amazing, but i just love how the deus ex story could actually happen you know, maybe not with all the illuminati shit but the augmentations being morally and ethically challenged in the future.

@polimonsta yea man totally agree the illuminati shit is very interesting tho and might excist but its a slim chance but augmentations will definatly happen and we will life to see the day :DDD:DD but the plot in HR could very well happen like with optional body part switches for upgrades, and i recommend finishing deus ex 1 i havent finished it yet but its one of the best

the augmentations may not even be that big a deal in the future, whos to say that a drug such as neuropozyne will even be neccesary for augmentations not to be rejected? no idea wt the future will bring :/

@instantlockerzinvit1 Course not. People will never replace their actual fonctional limb in our period of time, it will surely be a problem in two or three hundred years because they're clearly other priorities now (economy, environnemental changes, place of the nation in politic etc.)

They explore the issue of human cybernetics really well. you preface the game by showing how people are exploited by the companies who make these augmentations then you play as adam jenson and it shows you how augmentations benefit those who have them.

@mikser6666 Deus Ex 1 had bad (Even for it's time) graphics, and yet it managed to still suck people in, and is said to have one of the best atmospheres in video game history. You know why? One word: Interactivity. Almost every object in the world could be interacted with, Most NPCs had many lines of dialog, and Newspapers and PDAs everywhere that could be read, and hinted the games backstory. That's what makes a good atmosphere. How shiny the lights look is just a bonus.
