Well in Scotland you can find hundreds of accent which differ even at 40 miles distance. The most powerfull accent is in Glasgow, no doubt. Then it comes Aberdeen, Inverness and Edinburgh which are getting a little bit softer. But in Peterhead, they are like from another continent. You can't understand anything from them
well, i'd made those experiences too. Orderring a pizza downtown Glasgow was very hard. I was closed to starving. I'm not a native (english) speaker but i've the advantage of "hard-sounding" german.

@sotefb Nah - he was right about the skirt thing - most weddings in Scotland have the guys wearing the kilts - okay wouldn't agree with our guys going to war in them any more but its part of our heritage and just like you said - we enjoy a good laugh at ourselves - the kilts are part of it.... and the bagpipes!!!!
