We had our own horrible experience with Spirit Air as well. They scheduled their flights with an hour layover, which is fine if you are on a domestic flight and changing planes, but they didn't tell us that when we flew from Mexico to NY via Ft. Lauderdale, we actually had to deplane, go through immigration and customs and recheck our bags. Over half of our plane had to try and go standby on subsequent flights. Their answer, "We are not legally required to give more than an hour for connecting."
In Europe we don't coop with this kind of shit! That's why Ryanair is getting worse numbers in continental Europe, only keeping good numbers of flights from and to UK...Air Europa, Vueling and EasyJet provide a very good service, never had more then 30m of delay in any departure with them, and all by air controllers orders to wait...there's in no such thing as standard or low cost airliners, there are good ones and bad ones, like everything else in this life!

Spirit Airlines is quite efficient in my opinion.. They are very keen on safety..The pilots are great..I like the airlines and once I can get a flight.. I will always fly with them..

SPIRIT AIR IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST AIRLINE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT FLYING WITH THEM.

i have flown spirit 7 times in the last 18 months for trips to guatemala. the plane was late an hour leaving from guatemala once and besides that they have been on time everytime. i think they are great.
Concerning the comment about their employees losing jobs and "being on the street". . . their entire reservation center is based in Manila (Phillippines) 24/7, so no big loss there. This airline is quite pathetic.
Jeez... whether you like the airline or not if they go out of business all their employees will be on the street... not good, regardless of how you feel about the company...

Anyone who is stupid enough to fly Spirit deserves this. Fly any other airline except for Spirit.
