I think it would certainly be cool converted to a Savage Worlds setting. Would be hard with the use of the Rippers book already translating alot of what you would need. Great review, as always!
did anyone else see this and immediately think "vampire hunter d" the setting and anime are similar and you could adapt the settting to fit the western themes. comment if you have an opinion
I do have to agree with one thing that Hickman said - that RPGs are trying to be more like simulation games with more accurate and realistic items, actions, effects, etc. And to some degree this degrades the fun.
In other instances, it's purely a matter of taste. Take status effects, for example. Bleeding and stunned are cool when used correctly, but then you throw dazzled and withering in there. You only need the first two, really, before it becomes redundant. As well as using power cards.
Thats interesting, I found A/States setting to be fuller and more well realised than UnMet, with a deep level of playability and possible play styles available. I thought that UnMet was a bit too obsessed with its graphical appearance. But both are good settings IMHO.
rules heavy games can be difficult. especially if its a single game, and not a game engine...i think you could reproduce thye setting witha diffierent system like uni-system or cortex etc.
Thanks Kurt, you pretty much confirmed what I thought about this game. I love the setting, but from what I've read on the websites for it the rules are way too crunchy. Think I'll wait for someone to Savage it, then think about using that instead :)
What Kurt didn't mention here is that this game has also this cthulhu-esque theme that your character is doomed from the beginning. You don't have sanity, but endulging your vices can sort of malform and disfigure you eventually.
As for the forum, I think it's a good idea, however as nuther mentioned, people already have to keep track of too many forums. It could be neat for those who never tried it before. Personally, I would comment only once in a while
I am not sure i love rules heavy games. only because if i am trying to find people to play with the more rules their are the harder it is to get people excited about it. but the setting sounds fun.
I had to fix the video also, late night editing. we were contemplating a forum in the future or do you all prefer just sticking with leaving comments?
Personally I tend not to participate in too many forums because it's an extra level of stuff I have to do in order to comment, but if the forums are user-friendly I guess I could at least take a look. With a hobby-oriented focus it's a lot more interesting than a general forum, but bear in mind you're either going to have a lot of chaos, or going to have extra work moderating them.
I think both ideas are pretty nice. A forum would allow for more discussion but I think it would be discouraged to just leave one sentence posts every week just saying how entertaining and well done the show was every week. However I imagine that could easily stay right in Youtube's comments. If you and Rob feel up to it I'd probably take part in it if time allowed.

Sounds like it could be mined for info and translated to Savage Worlds.

I hate Unmet. Such an awesome setting, and Eos Press is known for decent game design.
The system is so blah. I was so disappointed I just couldn't stand the game.

Agreed good setting, really annoying games system. If you like the UnMet setting have a look at A/State by Contested Ground Studios.

Hey aiki, I go by Simple Man on the RPGnet boards.
I've seen a|state, wasn't too impressed, sadly. The setting doesn't really grab me and slap me in the face with awesome like UnMet's did.

Hey, you know what i'd really like to see a Review of? Dark Heresy. The Warhammer 40K gaming system.

Sucks that you can't easily re-title videos. The mourners still sound neat!
