@172jonno It depends which insurance company you go for. Some companies dont even put the price up from a 1.3 to a 2.0 because its still classed in the same band as the nova was pre conversion. They will only put the price up sky high usually if you have a turbo or something. @172jonno go have a look on gumtree or ebay there are loads of 250bhp+ corsa's and novas going for around 2k. Obviously they are not going to be the dogs bollocks with all the best parts but i never said they would be. Ok, so youve killed a couple of Type Rs. Ive killed a couple of corsas who have tried to have a go. Most recent was a Corsa B with a turboed X20. From the start he had the upperhand, obviously as its a lighter car with a powerful engine. So take from that what you want. Regardless of what engine is in it, its still a Corsa. It still looks crap. End of. The reason you wont find a Type R for that money is becuase theyre proper cars. Especially Accords as theres less than 900 of them left ;)

2.2 standard are 212bhp! My Accord Type R is pushing 239bhp according to the last rolling road. Its weighs 2X as much as that shed, and would annhilate it in a straight line AND in the corners. Limited Slip Diff as standard puts play to that. Plus, the added benefit of not looking like a nob because I dont drive a Corsa ;)

2.2 standard are 212bhp! My Accord Type R is pushing 239bhp according to the last rolling road. Its weighs 2X as much as that shed, and would annhilate it in a straight line AND in the corners. Limited Slip Diff as standard puts play to that. Plus, the added benefit of not looking like a nob because I dont drive a Corsa ;)

to be honest these type of corsa's dont need a body kit on maybe just a exhuast and rims but no massive exhaust or chaved out rims. in the end if u dont have the money dont get a corsa to thrash about u spend more money fitting a new head gasket etc etc then money towards a new car that u can trust. anything higher then a 1,4 or 6 u seem to get raped on insurance

@antonyr123 so what? thats like me saying 1988-c20xe 150bhp 1988-escort rsturbo 147bhp a turbo doesnt mean anything. you can get 250bhp out of a tuned c20xe without the use of a turbo. these cars are still fast for the price and will eat many 'real' hot hatches which is the beauty of them! who expects to be passed by a standard granny car corsa in their type r? but it happens trust me- been there done it to many dudes rolling around in their little hot hatches.
