Yeah - Threadgills was originally owned & started by a guy called Kenneth Threadgill (heance the name!) He would often had open mike type nights & Janis would go there to sing without her parents knowing. Later when she became famous & came back to Texas as a superstar, she went & played at Threadgills for Ken. She was always very fond of him & always stated that he gave her her first singing job.
