I just watched the documentary today, and I really have to say that Anna Wintour is nothing like Miranda Priestly! Anna seems like a generally kind person and she's always laughing. Plus the documentary really got me interested in fashion now! LOVE Anna!!!!
She was great but you can buy more than lipstick for $20. Buy a cheap pair of boots at Ross, paint your nails an interesting color, buy some beads at the craft store and make a bracelet and much more. Go to Target. Buy twenty tubes of lipstick by Elf. Fashion isn't always about labels.
She runs a business. She must get her job done. The fashion industry, as demanding and stressful as it is, requires a strong, decisive woman such as Anna. Personally, I respect her and hope that others do not loose sight of the fact that she had a job to get done and she must do it effectively. Others must also take into consideration the amount of criticism she must deal with.
I saw The devil wears Prada and Miranda Priestly is said to be quite a genuine version of Anna Wintour. Based on that, and what I´ve read about her, she seems to be quite a narcissistic bitch, and the criticism of her is, in big part, because of that. If it´s all true, I find it sad that many people come to her defense by arguing she´s powerful and the people "don´t like powerful women". I don´t know what´s wrong with them, that they think being powerful makes you a better person or what.
why does she always hunch her back sitting or walking though? I noticed her daughter does it too. It's kinda ugly. If not for the hunch, she'll look hot.

I hate David - yes, "hate" is the word - and am not that keen on Anna personality wise, but here she manages to be courteous and sweet when she could have been a total bitch. David is a mediocre interviewer incapable of empathy. He has no interest in really getting to know people, which is what a talk show host should do.

This may be me stereotyping, but it seems mostly Americans that thinks she's a bitch, or rude, or mean. As a Brit she's quite typical of businesswomen, and many women who are successful in most fields including most of the creative industries. She's not really cold, just reserved or shy. But you can tell she's extremely intelligent and what a wit!

I don't understand the hatred for Anna Wintour. She's tough, sure, but she doesn't come off as a bad person. She was actually lovely in this interview, with great humor to boot. This Letterman guy is really an idiot. He is sooo insecure and SO threatened by someone who is intelligent and confident. David Letterman is unbelievably rude. He shows no respect towards Ms. Wintour and seems to be mocking her at numerous points. He seems to also be mocking the industry. He's lucky to have got this interview, and forgets that if he lost his job, he would be replaced and lose everything. If Anna was replaced, her name would still live on, forever the Queen of Vogue.
