  • In short they did not have to kill anything for the photos

  • There is a process of opening the egg into a petri dish, and letting the egg grow the rest of the way out if the shell, and it doesn't harm the chicken

  • They are cracking open the eggs at various stages at development to gain insight into embryonic development inside the egg. There are ways to see inside the egg with various imaging techniques but this is the most practical way to monitor development.

It seems cruel but you can bet that these birds were not killed just for some pictures, that was only a biproduct. They would have performed a detailed examination of their anatomy, noted musculoskeletal arrangement, organ development, ect

  • actually, i think theres a microscope or some sort that helps u see the baby develope without having to crack it open. idk ive heard about it.

  • I thought they were killing it at first

  • @kaylamckenzie2011 they are

  • is this all just one egg or multiple embryos at different stages? stupid question??

  • why is it all embryonic chickens and then at the end, you show a picture of a nestling raptor?

  • why the hell did you kill so many just for a few pictures? cruel bastards
