  • @kash24ny Actually, I have a staunch record of heterosexuality, but he's just so cool.

  • There is NO WAY any decade can claim to be as cool as the '70s.

    This video alone is PROOF.

    Miley Sirus my ass.

  • @InsertName125 An extension of the 60's

  • @dhloup1 1965-1979

  • @InsertName125 I agree except, 1964-1979

  • Everyone in the band is heavy hitting, in the cool laid back way of the times

Stop the Wars. Violence is Square !!

  • good sound, reminds me of the end of the 60's. Very good!

  • Quite possibly the coolest song (and most amazing band) of all time!

  • @dmelv No , The coolest song of all time is " Inside looking out " by Grand Funk !

  • Digging the short shorts on the bassist.

  • Eric Burdon...made the cowbell cool before the cowbell was cool.

  • This song rox!

  • swaggggg

  • The combo with War perfect better than his work work with the Animals What do you guys think!

  • @kllyrichwine, I agree, but then again I have to admit I'm biased towards WAR.

  • @kllyrichwine Both were successful. I am a huge Eric Burdon fan in both respects.

  • Is that Samuel Jackson on the flute

  • he is possibly the coolest guy ever to grace this earth

  • @ItsGettingBetter1 Couldn't agree more!

  • I come in peace (cough cough)

  • NNNNNice shorts man

  • as is now there was a war raging that no American believed in ... this is just one of the songs that came out of that period of time ... in my opinion we had the best music ever written in history ... expressive of a huge change that would take place in this world ...

  • They should have been inducted into the Music Rock n roll hall of fame this year since they did not get it in 2010. Great band the people's band!

  • @blacklipsandcorsets, I agree. And as a WAR fan I can only feel a small measure of the frustration these musicians must feel in having been passed over by the Beastie Boys for induction, when the BB's sample WAR's most iconic song 'LOWRIDER'. Makes me sick to my stomach, literally!

  • 47 of them

  • my god i love this song..i remember singing this as a kid back when i was like 14..thank god for Remember the Titans

  • Dancing Badgers snake my baby

    fly-speck jello-cube for Old Lady...

  • still love this one :-))

  • Im 14 years old and i love this song and all of Eric Burdons music :)

  • Boogie Nights!

  • @SuperBrobo The Fresh Prince of Bel air ha ha ha.

  • OMG great

  • Yes, this is a live vocal performance, but I'm not sure about the instruments. Is this totally live, or does it have some pre-recorded instrumental backing?

I'm inclined to think that the whole thing is live in the studio, with no overdubs. What say you all?

Whatever the case may be, this track is amazing. I love it.

  • @SpartanOrDie, I say it's totally live because I've seen the original musicians of WAR/LOWRIDER BAND perform, just recently as a matter of fact, and they still got this groove to this day. Peace.

  • asshole # 2 : more Throbbing Gristle with Jerry Garcia ,or Leroy Anderson conducting Ted Nugent, or even William Shatner playing Alice in a rendition of an old Alice Cooper concert.....

    WAR RULES!!!!

  • Eric Burdon is the coolest mother fucker, cooler than Jagger, yeah i said it.

  • I just clicked on this video, didn't even know it was this song until the chorus. Awesome though.

  • MORE COWBELL!

  • i can understand why theyre mad onti how come they werent inducted in the rock n roll hall of fame. dayum yo

  • WAR is the groovin' SHITE yeah.

  • Why does Joan Jett always RUNAWAY?! EYE 5

  • War is just the shit.

  • I love this man. And I'm not gay.

  • A renissance of music my friends, I always loved this song. Pure joy to watch them perform live. Gratzie Amillie for posting these great vid's.

  • @4fingersinge

I keep reading how music was better a long time ago. I could not believe it was better or worse, so i did a research. Amazingly, i found, music took a grand turn in 1989. Anything afgter 1988, which is any good, should be cherished, because music did definitely change, after RAP went from old school, to gangsta.

  • @radiowwww

So, did you like the Eric Burden stuff?

  • What a great vocalist !

  • It's a god damned shame today's media promote non talented rappers who can't even play a plastic kid's flute. Imagine how cool the music could be without MTV tainting disaffected apathetic youth who believe a few gibberish lines babbled through a voice synthesizer is all it takes to get their jewels, pools, hoes, and clothes. Look how freakin awesome WAR was. White, black, & hispanic musicians layin it down for the MUSIC.

  • Music had no color back then except for the real color you saw from the music. The shit produced today mostly, SUCKS big time.

  • @jamesyavalon

     well put man!

  • @pavethepeaks

    Thanx Pave!!!

  • @jamesyavalon WELL SAID!

  • @Quietmelody76

    Thank you quietmelody!!!

  • @jamesyavalon Well said!!!

  • Great song. Does any one know why Eric left the group in a middle of a tour ?

  • This is pretty awesome. In the beginning when Burdon's back was turned, I though that was a guitar strap across his back - and then I'm like "what? he's wearing a purse?" And then I noticed the guitarist wearing hot pants . . . Still though, there's enough masculinity on stage to cancel that stuff out.

  • 47 people didn't even bring any wine to spill!

  • i don't know but there are 47 of those sissies that need exterminating!

  • classic...He had to be stoned to "da BaJesus" when he wrote this....

  • Do I really need to see a Cartoon Bear with Dingle Berries on his ass before I watch this?

  • if dexter brought u here...

  • Lee Oscar on the harp!!! Way cool.

  • EVERYTHING EB touched turned to gold... War plays each summer at a very tiny outdoor venue in Rich, va.. That crowd really gets going..exciting band..

  • @cindygibbsbarfield,That's not really WAR that you've been seeing for too many years now. Four ORIGINAL members of WAR in this vid are now called THE LOWRIDER BAND because the "WAR" band that you've been seeing has been using THEIR WAR name. Drop by my channel for the truth. Peace.

  • eric burdon is one of my favorite stars of the sixties...

  • @azulzinho68 amen!!! mine too

  • WHAT ASSHOLE COULD POSSIBLY DISLIKE THIS?

  • @jamesyavalon its sad but a lot of people dont like music like that....most of young people dont know, believe it.

  • @jamesyavalon 47 doucheheads who were too high to know the song :)

  • @jamesyavalon asshole # 1 right here . More Klaus Schulze less Eric Burdon.......War is still great . I dont Eric Burdon anywhere near me or my family .

  • @scitsalcoryp

    YOu'rE a fuckin weirdo man.

  • @jamesyavalon Beard as mir buzz........

  • @DreAmeoba1 Hornglops

  • @jamesyavalon You have he;pedme tremendously..i will seek help right away...

  • @jamesyavalon I said BEARD AS MIRROR BUZZ!!!!

    hornglops indeed...

  • they DIDn't invent it....or the BLUES...do you actually believe the authors of hip hop and rap possess the ability to create anything better????

  • I MISS THE ROCKING FLUTE WHAT THE FUCK MAN

  • One of my favorite songs, I use to listen too, when I would go fishing, wow, and it still sounds good, spill the wine, War was the bomb!!!!

  • @afarrakhan, WAR is still the bomb, and I'm happy to say they still perform to this day, but they are now called THE LOWRIDER BAND because of a corporate BS entity taking their WAR name from them.

  • Amy Winehouse could have taken some lessens on how to perform while absolutely loaded from this band.

  • <----wishes he were laying in a tall field of Mexican grass.

  • 3:36 Did anyone else notice that when Eric was pouring his imaginary wine into the glass he spilled some first?

  • the bongo player's shirt is sweet! can I get one in a medium??

  • I love you all! green, purple, orange, beige, maple people! haha who cares people!!! give blood!

  • Comment removed

  • look at his man-bag!

  • @OlderWaiter, That bag is for Eric's collection of "pearls". ; )

  • I clicked on this video and and a rap video advertisement pops up.That's just what i wanted to watch when i clicked on a 70s rock video.2000'S RAP VIDEO..These advertisements have got to go.Thx google.eys rolling

  • lay back and enjoy, the analysis is unnecessary

  • In the comments of this video: White People acting like experts of Black Culture.

  • @ThatDisembodiedVoice I think a white person can be an expert on black culture just as easily as a black man can be an expert on European history. Why does one person's skin color preclude him from any sort of intelligence in your mind?

  • @loetzfan thank you very much for your statements, because its true!!!!!!!!

  • marijuana brought me here. :)

  • @samspace81 me too mang

  • @samspace81 Thats kinda ironic, me too!

  • @samspace81 yeah man....but i`d never spill the wine....dude!!! vine is a part of it.(or whisky?)

  • Heard this song in the car... Stuck in my damn head. xD

  • lol fresh prince of bel air brought me here :D

  • This song went to No.1 in Australia in 1970, and was a top 40 hit again for a hippy concept band called "The Freaked Out Flower Children", whose founding members were from Australia's first major hip-hop band Mighty Big Crime. Have a listen to it (has some really gorgeous girls in it too, one of whom hosted a show about sex on prime-time TV).

  • Um, War was an American funk group, although frontman Eric Burdon was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in Northeast England. This is a rock/funk/blues/reggae song. It's definitely not a rap song; rap didn't exist in 1970. And people of all races contributed to the development of rock music.

  • @christaylor1918 god i love dumbshits like you. get over yourselves people this is by no means rock!!!

  • @robby844 Your right of course. Rock stations never play this song, only the polka channels, you genius, you.

  • @christaylor1918 I don't think anyone would disagree that "people of all races contributed to the development of rock music." Your argument is a straw dog.

  • I got to see Eric Burdon and the Animals a couple of times -- that I can remember. They weren't great performers -- just incredible musicians. Burdon is awesome. One of my favorites of all time. He's never gotten the respect he deserves

  • Beatclub has some of the BEST ornate performances. Check out their channel seriously!

  • Don't you guys have a good quality performance of this song, it's awesome!

  • oh.
