Um, War was an American funk group, although frontman Eric Burdon was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in Northeast England. This is a rock/funk/blues/reggae song. It's definitely not a rap song; rap didn't exist in 1970. And people of all races contributed to the development of rock music.
