I was there once in 1965 as a 10 year old and this is very well done it brought me back to a much different time. I love what you have done thank you " I get it" well done......
nice video - that seems a beautiful park and i still cant believe how NY authorities have not restored the remainign buildings of the NYWF- I remmber since i was a kid how the Unisphere looked so symbolic , a new York symbol for the world, and for those who live abroad its still an attraction- please restore and give it the status it deserves!
I love this video. Many, many thanks for posting it. I went to the World's Fair as a kid in 1964, and 1965. It was magical to me then. I even went pack to Flushing Meadows in 2009 and 2010 to see the site now. I am glad some things are still there. The Panorama Of New York is still amazing. I hope the NY State Pavilion can be restored.
One of the BEST movies I have EVER seen about the park that was the World Fair. I have seen it from the air landing in NYC. I always really wondered how it looked today. Why can't the state of NY preserve this place and make it a tourist attraction at least. I pretty much defines the idea that the people had of what the future would be......"And look at us now" I would go see this site.....pretty damn cool . Would you?? let me know by response
What a great video, loved the aerial shots. I grew up in Flushing and was 11 and 12 when the fair was on. My mother and neighbor worked there so I spent alot of time at the fair. Flushing Meadows never got the respect that some other NYC parks got. NYC officials really doesn't appreciate what a great park they have. It’s great to see it during the winter, very peaceful. Loved the then and now shots. Thanks for a great video.
Beautiful video! It's so eerie and surreal to think that I stood under The Unisphere almost 46 years ago. Back around 1980, I was flying out of NYC and looked down and saw The Unisphere and that was the first time I'd seen it since 1965............and the last time I've seen it. Funny how some things stay with you your entire life.
i am only 16 but my dad kept telling me how when he was a kid, him and his family would go to the 1964-65 worlds fair a lot during it's time of existence, primarily because they lived close by and they loved the belgian waffle stands lol, but from this video, i see your point, REBUILD IT, BRING IT BACK, i personally wish we could have it for 2011 or beyond so those now young and old can enjoy it forever, but the economy isn't well, and it's been gone for 47, i wish we can have 1 for the future
maan, watchin this video just makes u appreciate new york more. i live in virginia now and nothin is like new york. i visit new york every chance i get.
What a beautiful video presentation, thank you so much! My memories of visiting the World's Fair as a child are ones I will never forget, it was a wonderful and thrilling experience. Then the sadness and emptiness I felt when it was no more. From a former Jersey girl now in Texas, thanks for the memories. :-)
I forgot all about those stone water fountains that were old in the 70s. I can't believe they are still there...had no idea the Hall of Science was still there. I will visit it soon. Thanks.
I was at The World's Fair and have always wanted to go back. Seeing the Towers on King of Queens, fueled this desire, this video is the icing on the cake. Now, I must go back. Thanks for sharing.
I am not from N.Y.C. , I am from Holland, Europe, but I can feel the passion with which this video was made, very good music too. I know this park through playing the game Grand Theft Auto 4, and became interested in NY landmarks like this and the Coney Island theme park. Nice to see the history behind it. Very nice video.
@ricotermonen I am a New Yorker and I was a teenager when the 1964--65 World's Fair existed. It was a wonderful thing, a truly inspiring experience for someone fifteen and sixteen years old at the time. Those circular towers you saw in this video, I remember being at the top of the tallest one. An elevator took visitors up there. What a great view of the city and the fair we had. I still remember it all very fondly even now so many years later.
@JackKangaroo1 ..Thank you for your comment. By accident I see on the right side a link to a video from that 64-65 worlds fair made by tneuage and one by DvdsEntertainment, maybe interesting for you who have been there back in the day. There are a lot of good videos on that topic
I grew up going to this park, and its not until now that I actually realized how amazing this park really is.. aslo is history and stuff. It just saddens me how those landmarks are no longer what they used to be.
I went to the 64-65 World's Fair when I lived in Delaware. We took relatives there several times. I was 10 and it had so many magical memories for me. It is surreal to see it again. Especially having lived in Texas for the past 30 years and feeling far removed. Thanks for posting!
i remember playing in the little pools at 0:43 when i was little and the unisphere, aww this place brings back so many memories :) , i always pass this place while taking subway. i also been to the hall of science couple years back.
From 4:39 on, it's the end title score from the film 'Gladiator', incorporating "Now We Are Free" by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard (she's the lyricist and vocalist).
i live in flushing so i see the park everyday about 2 years ago i realized how much history there is in the park. The whole park should be a new york state park. Also it desevers the respect other parks have like central park

Ever since Epcot Center I have loved Expos. I would love to see a permanent Worlds Fair come to that area. We can use the employment LOL.

I think they should tear it down before our enemy marches over and has his picture taken looking down on the ruins of America.
Well done film.
