This was the first experience i had with beach house, seeing them on jimmy fallon. It put me in a trance, i had never heard anything like it. Her voice is unique and beautiful! Their music evokes a mood, it has a purpose, and it fulfills it. Their music makes me feel good, its that simple.

i had never heard of beach house until hope sandoval, one of my favorite artists of all time, casually name dropped them in an interview back in september, saying she liked them and that they reminded her of opal (early mazzy star). since then i have heard a lot more and it's chilling how much victoria reminds me of a young hope - while she has her own unique style and is by no means an "imitation," you can tell hope is a serious influence, and i love it. nice of hope to acknowledge it too.
