  • I actually like that's a recording from the TV. It adds character haha

  • they are a good band/duo-i still think their first album is the best. she is really, really hot-omg

  • @afeelgoodassignment Fame will make ANYone hot.............. Phil Collins, This Bitch, Etc.. LOL! i just love how americans are all about idol worship

  • ur quality makes it looks like its 1991

  • I normally reject any youtube video of a television shot. This holds as its own aesthetic. What an amazing group.

  • when the fuck this i miss all of these tv appearences omg

  • This was the first experience i had with beach house, seeing them on jimmy fallon. It put me in a trance, i had never heard anything like it. Her voice is unique and beautiful! Their music evokes a mood, it has a purpose, and it fulfills it. Their music makes me feel good, its that simple.

  • The way this has been recorded gives it an even eerier feel. Love it.

  • i was waiting to see the original recording to surface on the net (kept getting blocked?) but then i watched this again, and the fact that it is videotaped from another recording (or the original broadcast?) gives it a really cool feel...

  • did someone put a VHS video camera in front of their television to record this?

  • @STEVeUNIX yeah i felt like this was from the 70s.

  • indeed... beach house is too cool that they still sound good even being recorded like this!

whenever people post videos like this on youtube, it reminds me of taping tv programs on VHS tape. lol :D

  • listen, i was looking forward to this -- but crap sound. can't handle that.

  • sweet.

  • The fact that over 64,000 people have suffered through this low-qual video, really says how good this Baltimore band is.

  • The best thing ever to happen on Jimmy Fallon's shitty program.

  • @BradWest96 ........what about the MOTHER FUCKING ROOTS!!!!!! they fucking kill it, their new album is straight FIRE

  • @irtehcoolest5 Damn, I totally forgot. One of the best hip hop groups of all time! Jimmy also did a spot-on Neil Young impression in one episode, but beside that, his show sucks pretty bad.

"Heh, alright, welcome to the, woo, show. *Fucking stupid joke* Woo, heh, yeah, good joke, heh."

  • wow, i had no idea it was girl. i love seeing girls who sing like that!

  • @TheSavree Same here dude! i totally thought it was a guy singing most parts with the occasional female vocal! Then i saw them a couple of weeks back and was totally shocked!

  • Not the greatest quality, but it gives off this sweet 70s TV vibe. I like it.

  • you know instead of posting this shitty video you just shouldn't have posted anything at all.

  • Great band, great song, and I actually like that's it's a grainy old tv video; its fits :)

  • the best.

  • horrible quality but a great effort. at least someone was trying to record this gem

  • yeah what the f....this quality is pointless

  • You don't see too many female singers singing this deep nowadays. Seems everyone wants to sound like Feist.

  • @anulhyf34 yeah, her voice tripped me out cause i had several of their songs on my i pod without knowing who sings for the band. i thought it woulod alternate between two members, a guy and a girl, but was floored when i realized otherwise.

  • this vid sucks, why so many views

  • The crappy vid quality kinda makes it sound like an old record. Damn, her voice is really chilling, man.

  • nope

  • Lol, with this quality it's seems like a 60's song, wich actually is a good thing. Beach House are amazing!

  • I never realised that the lead singer was a woman until now.

  • hmm. dont know why that was a suprise .. she doesn't sound like a guy at all

  • Really? I love the album and listened to all of it with the presumption of it being a man. All my friends were surprised when I told them too lol!

  • what

  • "you know you're gold, you don't gotta worry none " i love it!!

  • You forgot to say HD in the title of this video. I enjoy the song!

  • @DandyDanishDanger dude fallon and letterman might i add have some of the sweetest indie artist play. i don't think that it takes away from their integrity at all.

  • you don't even know why you don't want them on there.

  • You don't even know why you are commenting on a comment that was a joke that was aimed at someone you don't even know in a conversation you have nothing to do with and you don't know anything about.

Go pick on a helpless, fat tranny your own size.

  • No I read the complete conversation. I understand it quite well. You've got a weak sense of humor and wit. I just don't like people who expect things from bands. i.e. not play fallon.

and that last bit really implies your a fat tranny.

  • Your You're yor. I just don't like people who don't like people. I don't really care what you don't like, mind YOUR own business. When the conversation actually involves you, YOU'RE more than welcome to speak YOUR mind.

  • this conversation doesn't involves me? it's a youtube comments page. It's more public than your mother.

You say you don't care what I think but your still gonna reply back and try to win this youtube debate. haha

  • Baby girl, I don't debate. I just keep commenting with pointless bullshit until I've exhausted all possible bullshit I could possibly spew.

  • awesome! ....... seriously though very funny :)

  • more public than an out house???

  • oh my goodness, just amazing..thanks for uploading

  • i had never heard of beach house until hope sandoval, one of my favorite artists of all time, casually name dropped them in an interview back in september, saying she liked them and that they reminded her of opal (early mazzy star). since then i have heard a lot more and it's chilling how much victoria reminds me of a young hope - while she has her own unique style and is by no means an "imitation," you can tell hope is a serious influence, and i love it. nice of hope to acknowledge it too.

  • This low quality approuch creates a romantic feeling. It's quite fitting with the music. Thanks.

  • Thank you for staying up and recording this in front of your tv (I love the I-don't-care-how-low-tech-it-is approach ;-))

Also - thanks for including the lyrics. In all sincerity. Very helpful.

    I'm fascinated by this band.

There is a magical and creepy undercurrent to it all that is quite captivating.

  • i fucking love you victoria, be my wife. all the head bobbing in the background lols (x10), maybe jimmy fallon fans should try not listening to music

  • Oh Baltimore - I MISS YOU

  • that is my homey dan franz up there playing drums, support this band they fucking rule the school !

  • This performance was absolutely breathtaking. I had never even heard of Beach House before seeing them on Jimmy Fallon and I immediately preordered their album. This is incredible!!!

  • So, ur a new fan?

  • oh yeah me neither and i had dvr the jimmy fallon show and i listened to this song over and over. its such good music

  • @cambonator - This is exactly why record labels are STUPID for not allowing people to upload performances or videos using copyrighted music. Simply claim who the artist is, easy peasy... and suddenly, new fans will be formed because they stumbled upon their music. They'll figure it out one day, I hope.

  • it was so fun seeing this last night

  • hope a better quality version of this is put up soon

  • Thanks for recording this!

  • so good
