For some reason, when I import weapons into unity, the scopes on snipers end up looking messed up. I think it's something wrong with unity, because when I import it back into blender, it's fine...
Thanks for the tutorial. I've really been bugged by the fact that models have an enclosing prefab in Unity but you've shown me how the deal with that. It's a we you have to rotate the model when importing it.
Another thing that really bugs me is the XYZ orientation is different in Blender and Unity, which makes rotating the model tricky because axes are different. Do you know how to synchronise the axes in Blender and Unity.
okay, i tried the fbx import in blender, but the options that you have ,like mesh and animations, i dont get that (the option to do that) i know what you mean, it just sends my objects to a unity asset under a file. when i import it into unity, it doesnt show up as anything. it basically doesnt exist as an object, i cant even drag the file into the heirarchy or the scene. and i meant unity 2.6. sorry.
@LedZeppified Hey if it is still not working its because you are missing a folder in order to solve this problem and export our models as fbx like BurgZergArcade is showing us is to make sure you have the script folder in your blender data folder.
go to C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts
@narutoisgreat1234 Thanks! ill go there and check if that's the problem. i think it is.
since i couldnt figure this out 2 weeks ago, i just downloaded the old blender and did my modeling there. but now, i think i might be able to use the extremely easy to use new blender. thanks.
i have blender 2.54 and unity 6, is there anyway i can import an object like in the tutorial, or is there a different way? if the last one, whats the other way?
@LedZeppified Wow!! Unity 3 has not even been released!! I generally convert my bender models into FBX format as Unity never seems to have a problem with those.
I am new to Blender 2.49b and Unity 2.6. I actually got this to work. However, when I added the monkey to the scene the monkey face is pointing up and not away from the camera like your tutorial shows. What I am doing wrong in Blender or Unity?
@BurgZergArcade I have a problem When i import my character i cant see him and a object cant have more than 65000 vertices at the moment ? (I am not very good at english sry)
i saved it went to unity and went to imported asset and imported it and it does not come up as a prefab it comes up as like a page or paper emblem plz help me plz
im new to blender and unity. i watched a video of how to make a gun using verticies in blender. i have done that but i dont know wat settings to click on when im exporting plz help me. and also once you export to unity will the model still be in blender
Grr.... it doesnt work... when i save it as .blender, unity says something about it being compressed... and as a .fbx it has the prefab, but its empty!
I got a serious question. Ok, when I click File>Export it doesn not do what it does to you in blender so is that good for me or not.

@jjp0901 Make sure that you have the Rotate X90 check. This should make it face the camera.

@mars3142 I have not tried 2.5 in a while, but I do not recall having any problems importing to Unity with it.

thanks m8 i realized that afterwards. would you do the same if you have animations applied?
Samirk92 2 years ago
you dnt actually show us how you move it to unity, up until you rename your part is good but you dnt tell s where to save it.
Samirk92 2 years ago
You can just drag the .blend file to the project window in unity. It will import it for you.
Hope that helps.

@BurgZergArcade what project window?
