press floor and off on AC module repeatedly then automatic in a matter of two seconds after it runs test press defrost to clear codes use under ur own risk
@Globalpack Good ? But all shops charge book time regardless how long it takes. Most Auto techs can beat book time on most repairs.Being a Auto tech,if you don't do a job within book time, you will eventually be replaced/lose your job.Thats one of the sucky things about being a tech along with many other sucky things.I've been a professional Auto tech for 10 years & might not go back in this field as there are so many f-ed up things to deal with.I've been screwed over many times even as head tech
@Globalpack Lets look at what you just said and break it down a little. Now a good technician who has lots of experience should be able to do things quite a bit faster than an entry level tech, right.? Should he be punished and get paid less, because he is good? No! He deserves the same pay for completing the same job. If a guy working at McDonalds can make your burger in 1/2 the time it takes new employees, should you be charged less for that burger?
@brickyak87 Im a 3rd generation auto mechanic. No disrespect, but McDonalds gets paid by the hr.Book Time is a Estimated GUESS of the LONGEST time it can take.Thats why we give ESTIMATES,a round figure of wat it should cost!So if I charge $40 hr,to build u a deck,it takes me 5hrs,I estimated 12hrs,yet the other 7hrs I was on another job, would it be FAIR to charge you for 7hrs I didnt work and was on another job?You wouldnt pay it so why force your customers to pay?

You won't still charge 5 hours right?
The words of a mechanic, "Honest mechanics are non-existent because it's too easy to quadruple your income."
That's why I stay at the garage and insist on watching.
