Are you serious? I know people who are paying $400-$600 and more every month on electricity simply because they refuse to leave Reliant or TXU. These people are struggling needlessly, when all you need to do is shop around. It's like choosing to buy candy from the movie theatre or Wal-mart. It's obvious what people on a budget should do. If you don't want to do the research in this age of information, you WILL pay for your ignorance. For starters you can go to CutMyLightBill (dot) info.

@madnesslew ok some people have no choice in the area but to use TXU. secondly, TXU is the only one who doesn't charge an outragous deposit (at least for me), so people on fixed budget. Right now i pay 60, because im in a tiny one bedroom, if I were to change i'd probably pay 30 a month, but have to pay 600 dollar deposit, which I don't have. Switching isn't as easy as you say for some people.
