A bunch of ignorant people commenting on this video. The reason the iPad doesn't have flash is because Apple couldn't figure it out. When apple messes something up they ALWAYS blame someone else for it. (remember the, "oh every smartphone has these antenna issues" even though the iphail 4 is the only one that has ever done it?)
Same deal here, HTML 5 wont be in full use for a couple more years so I give Android developers an A+ for at least trying to get Flash working until then.

So yeah. I finally managed to track down a URL that would reliably crash the Android Browser. It did, in fact, show an error message. I retract my earlier statements and now I believe that he did, in fact, hit the home button.
Of course, in the time since this video was posted Adobe had a demo at FlashCamp Seattle where it crashed repeatedly on Eco Zoo. In my defense, assuming Flash had crashed isn't exactly a big leap of faith.

Maybe you didn't know, but this version is still beta, and there's a video of a nexus one running a newer version very smoothly with no crashing at all.
Uhh, if you read the actual link he says he accidentally hit the Home button on the side of the tablet -- Flash didn't crash. His review says it ran flawlessly.
In all fairness he did say it was a prototype and it clearly is. You can't really get too down on a pre-release product crashing, although yes we all see the irony of if crashing while playing Flash video. Of course until we look at the dump file we can't REALLY say it was the flash. Android multi-tasks, so it could have been something else.
@mygaffer I think it's clear the hardware that is a prototype. But I don't know it can clearly be seen as the software being shown is prototype (beta). And if it wasn't the Flash, was it due to something about Android as smitty5569 above implies?

Personally I've never had Flash crash on any of my 3 computers. They run for weeks without rebooting with my browser open to multiple flash based websites including Youtube. The only issue is Facebook's memory leak forcing me to restart my browser occasionally. Why is everyone assuming this is flash that crashed? It could have been anything. There isn't even an error message.

Flash is shit, and fortunately becoming less relevant every day. The statistic that just came out showing that the majority of videos on the web are h.264 and NOT flash-encoded shows is a stat Adobe would rather not talk about. And why visit YouTube to show Flash on a device? That doesn't prove anything. One can do that without
Flash installed.

Wait crap. Now that I think about it, there is a crash message. It's a lot like the frozen application message, but doesn't give the option to wait. It usually doesn't come up, though, unless it was a system process. I'll try to get my browser to crash and see what happens.

Hahahaha! Wow, does Flash *SO* well that it crashes the browser. Imagine that. Please. Flash has been outdated for years, and now, not just Apple, but Microsoft also has committed to killing the buggy resource hog. IE9 will not support Flash, but will go to HTML5 + H.264 -- just like Apple. The only thing left is Linux... and most of us Linux guys hate Flash with a passion already...
