I just started using Chantix bout 8 days ago and no side effect of killing myself has become present more less I think the 96% success rate of it speaks for itself and for the side effect of suicide is more present in people who are bi-polar and already have mood problems for the every day smoker who just has a hard habit its for sure working to keep me from smoking so far! i only have a couple mild side effects and I quit with Chantix for two weeks now. Much less withdrawal symptoms than cold turkey or other methods (the patch). It is worth it to try this. Many have quit with Chantix. Or just keep on smoking if that is what you want to do. I was just ready to quit and this drug helps tremendously.

@TheAdalaide I took chantix for one month. The first week I continued to smoke. I quit the Chantix early because of stomach problem side effects. Very common side effects from this drug. I am still smoke free but I sure noticed it was harder when I quit the Chantix. I think Ive been quit 9 weeks now. Chantix really helps with the nicotine withdrawal but only if you also have the will to quit. Good luck.

I took this medication and did stop smoking. that was 2 years ago! I was so frikin angry I coined the term PUPPY KICKIN MADD!!!!! I was so angry I thought of killing people all day long. I then droped the dose in half for 7 days then skipped a day between doses for 30 days and then stopped taking it all together. This is bad stuff and I dont recomend it to anyone but then again choose your poison.

I used Chantix and quit smoking. Normally when people have mental side effects the problems already exist. The drug just lets it out. So if you have had breakdowns or are Bi Polar Chantix is not for you. It saved my life and I think it gets less credit than what it should .
