  • Brilliant! So fun to have a video compilation of all the stupid, aggravating stuff we hear and have to bite our tongues about. It helps to laugh about it in our downtime. Thanks for posting this!

  • Dealing with clueless brides is the WORST.

  • Wow, who is the bigger pain in the ass in this video. Tough to say.

  • @PuertoRicanVideo The clueless bride.

  • Yes!!

  • cute animation.. and very nice tip for taking pic...

  • i really love weddings shoots... green surroundings like golf club is also nice as a venue background.

  • If yo are interested in photograph ,you can browse my channel ,wish you like it and sub it .welcome to share the recources with each other.Thank you very much.

  • You know what I love? People who take satire as literal representations of someones opinion.

  • "My uncle has a camera and that's what he says."

  • If you posted a basic bracket of pricing for your services rather than spending an hour getting someone's information only to decide that you'd rather not work with them then this wouldn't be a problem.

I agree that people can be stupid and ignorant about the specifics of your business, but you are supplying a service and the way some wedding photographer's act the couples they work for should feel blessed that they deigned to show up for their wedding.

  • @kalaway -I wish you were right in the assumptions you've made about my business, but you are not. I provide full pricing details as my first response to their inquiry.

Also, I'm always grateful to have the opportunity to work with my clients and always give 100% for them.

Regardless, it's amazing the things I hear or behaviors I see from people. No one person is like the character in this video, but it is an amalgam of some very common and off-putting things many photographers experience.

  • @kraftybkraft I agree that it's an extreme vision. I wasn't speaking directly to you with my comment about pricing details but about the majority of wedding photographer sites that I've visited--most of which contain little to nothing about price.

I appreciate the work that goes into the job, but the prospect of speaking extensively to a photographer about your wedding and coming to the end of the interview and feeling mocked when they quote a price $5000 over your budget is not exactly fun.

  • @kalaway Then maybe you should rearrange your budget to reflect what is actually important. You should be spending at LEAST 10% of your budget on photography.

  • Same thing happens on Ebay

    .

People want to buy a videogame or movie, and then complain that it costs 5 dollars to ship. Have you noticed how much postage costs now? That gas prices went up? Or that protective envelopes are almost a dollar a piece? Or that because you paid with credit card, now Visa is charging me an extra 50 cents service fee? Shipping an item across ~2000 miles is not going to be cheap buddy

    .

  • 10-500mm lmfao........

  • <3 This.

  • Very accurate. Everyone wants something for nothing. I just had someone looking for a photographer and videographer "no amateurs and HD equipment only", for 200$. What a joke.

  • This is so funny LOL.... classic and so true

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH I love this. :)

  • This was freaken great thanks!!

  • lol

  • this. is. fucking. fantastic.

  • this is sooo good;) i wish customers were required to watch this video prior to booking their session;)... priceless stuff

  • You always get the price first and then negociate! It's not good to look cheap.

  • I've shot many weddings in the past! Then as the digital age came to be ... I had a "model" ask me if I would shoot her wedding wth her "model" husband for "TFP!" I nearly died laughing! Then I had a Bridezilla try to have me beat up just before wedding so that she coud get out fo the contract. She had changed her mind after she hired me, but I wouldn't give in to her regarding my contract that said "the deposit is not returned if client breaks the contract" ... I no longer shoot weddings!

  • @bellaimages Wow. That's pretty scary.

  • Ive dealt with this too many fucking times :(

  • so fu**kin funny :D

  • The story of my life!!!!

  • God I would love to be able to say some of these things!!! Id post it to my face book! But that would be unprofessional!

  • lmfao omg omg. it's so true it hurts. but it's so funny!

  • Peace of shit Sony?

  • @HDD42269 yep

  • This is awesome!

  • LMAO! That could not have been better! I actually lost a wedding early in my career to a girl that said she was going to have her friend do the wedding but that her friend didn't like weddings and had only done 1. Good luck with that one :)

  • some people just don't understand the trials of the wedding photographer

and their monotone voices make it even funnier

  • LMAO I have never seen anything more accurate than this

  • o - my - god O_o

genious! :D funny but so true.. and that's sad :|

  • Awesome! Right on the money and hilarious!!!

  • Funny. Vegas Wedding Photographer.

  • Funny as hell and right on the money ! Unfortunately CraigsList and other listing services like are full of hundreds if not thousands of "Uncle" type photographers that undercut real Photographers all around the world.

  • This is why I don't do weddings anymore. Some corporate clients can be this way too though.

  • Love the Starbucks thing, FABULOUS. I have had that happen to me, the family thing where no one wants to sit for photos, people think you push a button and you're all finished. Had a girl with a kid who threw a temper tantrum the whole shoot because she scheduled the shoot during her naptime and then expected me to give her additional time for free because she didn't want any of the screaming me-me photos...people have no sensibilities. At least people will see you in your hummer limousine...

  • I agree, these videos are hilarious (and sad) I am an art student and only a casual photographer but I know enough about Iso and shutterspeed and the f-stop to know that even if you have a great camera it doesn't mean you can take great pictures. You need to know your camera and have an artistic background to know how to frame the shot and get good lighting.

  • very funny!! :)

  • haha so true

  • Can I have the RAW photos?

Do you even know what that means?

    Priceless!

  • haha, pretty spot on!.... Discount?

  • HA HA HA HA! As a photographer, I GET this totally! ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS.. haha

  • HA HA HA HA! As a photographer, I GET this totally!

  • I love this! It sounds like what we musicians go through at weddings. Only even worse. Every time I see a bride walk down the aisle, I have to restrain the urge to shout, "Don't do this! You're making a terrible mistake."

  • story... of.. my.. life.

  • Cool video. I'm just learning myself, I've found a lot of helpful tips at thephotographyclinic (.) com

  • AWESOME AND TRUE VIDEO!!! GREAT JOB!!!

  • Hilarious! Though I am not a professional photographer but I understand the emotions of a pro photog having to face people who are always on a budget but want Ansel Adams quality. The advent of Digital Photography has made the uninitiated to believe that all photographers just press a button and hey presto, you have a great looking image. They don't pause to think that it takes a lot of talent, creativity and imagination to be a good photographer. Weddings are not easy to photograph.

  • Funny because it's true...again and again.

  • OMG LMFAO!!!

  • Had me until the end, then you got pretty hypocritical. Don't cry about 10k worth of photo equipment and bitch about some overhead "ohh super fast computerz" then knock the other vendors. That single limo cost 100k, and the BTS costs and logistics of running a transportation business far outshadow yours. No offense to all you shutter bois! Everyone is just trying to make a buck, you don't think bridezilla hounded everyone for discounts?

  • @hambergerz99 I think the point he was trying to make there wasn't the cost, but the effective use of money. After all, when the wedding is over, the pictures are what you use to capture and remember all the things that happened, whereas the limo ride.... isn't.

I'm with the video on this one. I'd rather pay more for a photographer than a limo.

  • @hambergerz99

That's kind of missing the point. This video isn't "knocking other vendors". Also, you're being kind of ignorant about the cost/labor between these two completely different types of services. Chauffeurs drive for a couple hours here and there, and your job is done. A photographer is there all day, plus literally weeks of editing afterwards. A good photographer will put in at least 30-40 hours of work into a wedding. Add that to the equation.

  • @hambergerz99

Not saying that the price for what transportation services charge isn't justified! It's definitely a pricey business to upkeep, I'm sure. But that's not really what the video was getting at.

  • @hambergerz99 The difference of course being that a limo is an extra and not needed, photography is. It takes no talent to buy and rent a limo.

  • This is hilarious! I'm a wedding videographer and all the same applies...WHAT IS THE DATE OF YOUR WEDDING??? So it's not just me and I'm not alone dealing with these issues :)

  • Respect to all Wedding Photographers. There is a huge difference between taking a picture and capturing a moment.

  • And what 6 retards didnt like this , must be the customer like this one LOL

  • This is awesome , im a wedding photographer from Chicago and this video is so true.

  • OMG, I so loved this! Thank you!

  • cliche to the max man..

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! SPOT ON!!! YOU ARE A GENIUS!!! Thank you so much for posting the truth, not only in regards to wedding photography but in so many other aspects of portait photography!!

    I needed this laugh! =D

  • Funny

  • Hahha thats my life!

  • that is funny as hell.. No wait.. the brides sometimes are from hell.lmao!

  • Classic.

  • holy cow this is HILARIOUS!!!

"there are less people so it should cost me less money" lmao!

  • @yakidk89 I just love people who make claims about someone and what they are doing with their lives based on a 5 minute sitcom style video.

  • @yakidk89 You must be the uncle w/ the fucking Sony camera...

  • @yakidk89

Like the bride, you've missed the point. It's not a complaint about the job, it's a complaint about the people that marginalize what we do. Photographers seldom complain about taking pictures for a living. I had one lady look at my camera and say "That most take really nice photos". Gee, thanks. My skill and talent and creativity have nothing to do with it? Ignorance. The same type you're showing in your comment.

  • @cheshirecat25... Ignorance?? Nice try. I produced wedding videos for 2 years (where creative framing and focus is a non stop process- not to mention audio)

After some time I realised I did not like working with moronic brides-to-be and found the whole wedding industry one big imaginary wank. Therefore, I stopped and did something else with my life... including enjoying my weekends.

  • @yakidk89 Judging by your attitude it is no wonder you went out of business...

  • @yakidk89 we aint complaining you ignorant dick! people are the problem... this is general for all photographers that do their job properly... its a sad thing but hey.

  • I freaking love this because it's do true!!!

  • This is hysterical! I love it!

  • This is absolutely perfect! Made my day! "I'm on a budget." "I've never heard that before!"

  • This was so perfect, so funny, and sad all at the same time!

    Definitely a 5 Star Video!

  • 10-500mm lens BAHAHAHA. this video had me in tears of laughter

  • who were the 4 people that disliked the video? brides??

  • This is the best. And yes, with the cursing, cause its so necessary. Love all the Uncle Bob mentions.

  • You must have a microphone hidden in my studio! It is sad to think that this actually happens a LOT in our business. Loved it...thanks for sharing.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!! I don't know how many times I've heard "but I'm having a small wedding"...that doesn't mean I do less work because you have a small wedding...I give it all I've got every single time! After reading other comments I know I'm not alone. :)

  • This is GREAT! I think I've heard everything she said many times...

  • SO F'ING FUNNY

    (and sadly true)

    relates to anything freelance

  • she's just regurgitating the crap she's been reading by all the "experts" online and in wedding magazine on "how to pick a photographer". Ugh.

  • "My family is crazy, you will only have 5 minutes to photograph them in every combination I can think of..." -- love it.

  • This is amazing. So true. Every word.

  • oh this is just *so* good!! absolutely made me laugh out loud! the sony camera...the direct sunlight. oh.my!!

  • ha ha ha :) This is so true sometimes! Some brides just read too much and expect soo much from you the photographer but Dont want to Pay for it, or give you the time! Thumbs Up!

  • ha ha ha :) This is so true sometimes!

  • LOLOL This has to be the best Youtube I've ever viewed, lol!! This almost had me crying it was so good, lol!! This is so true. I've had so many ask for really cheap and a discount like I've been a photographer for 10 years, WHY WOULD I DO A $400 WEDDING?!?! Do they think I go this far off LUCK?!?! I'm not a BUTTON PUSHER, I'm a photographer! lol!!

  • I'm not even a pro photographer and i still think this is hilarious

  • I don't even do wedding photography and I can relate to what this poor photo bear is dealing with.

The best line: "Can I have the RAWs? Do you even know what those are?" *ROFL*

  • I find it hilarious that a program that "makes movies" if you can type was used to create this video about low-balling professionals, as opposed to using a proper video production crew. As both a professional photographer and also television producer/director, I am highly insulted -- and ROFLMAO!

  • @gerenm63 come back to reality. your sense of irony is inflamed.

  • @kjr22love: Oh, I know reality far too well.

  • Comment removed

  • bitches be crazy.

  • Yep this is so true and so brilliant !!!!!

  • As I wedding photographer I know where you are coming from! Briiliant.

  • Brilliant!!!!!

  • Would it be unprofessional of me to find this spot on and damn funny?! Tough, cos I do!

  • So frickin true!!!

Great job. Been a pro shooter for 25 years. Saw a bride that sounded like and resembled this cartoon character. She wants to go with me but I convinced her to go with uncle Sol who is doing this as a gift. She could not afford me anyways.

  • this seriously cracks me up!! IT IS SO FREAKIN' TRUE!!!!

  • Its so true, it ain't even funny!!! :)

    thanks!!!

  • Whoaaaaaa....great job!

  • Sooooooooo true.

  • This is so true. I have spent over a year working on Photography editing and making pictures unique. No money can pay the amount of time I spent on the computer and studies. Photography is not only about having an SLR camera with the right lenses; it is also about editing, creativity, color and clarity. FS

  • I find it incredible that some of the people who commented on this were critical because it makes photographers sound "bitter." Where's your sense of humor? This is a hilarious satire on what wedding photographers often (not always, but often) have to deal with when encountering potential clients.

"Can I have the RAW files?

"Do you even know what that means?"

That is absolutely hilarious . . . . anyone who can't find the humor in that is taking themselves much too seriously . . . .

  • Classic!

Funniest thing i have seen in ages because its so true!

All so many of them think about is price and relate photography to what they, or someone they know with an impressive looking camera knows.

I would have no problem showing this to my clients. the ones I would want to work with will understand and see the funny side of it and the ones that didn't would pre-qualify themselves as Pain in the butt customers I'm better off without.

    Perfect!!

  • Amazing Video...I love it!!

  • aHahaha LOL!!

  • The fact that you think this is hilarious says a lot about you.

The fact that you can't disagree without slinging insults says a lot about you.

    Together, they speak volumes.

  • @bthphoto - I slung an insult? Where was the insult in my reply? Are you inferring that saying you must be a Craigslist photographer is an insult? Hmm, the fact that that is an insult to you really says a lot about you; truly, it speaks volumes...

  • @bthphoto Dude I'm not a photographer but I sure know that working with people imply dealing with all kind of dumb customers. I find this video very entertaining.

  • This is GREAT!

  • I've been a wedding photographer for years, and I find this insulting. I've dealt with unreasonable brides, but this is just a sad caricature of an arrogant, overinflated photographer who thinks his clients should bow down to him because he has more experience, more equipment, and more insurance than uncle bob. A GOOD wedding photographer is also a good salesman and compassionate artisan who can take a client with big visions and little experience and lead them to their goal.

  • @bthphoto

    Get a life mate.

This is meant to be an example of a stupid customer who thinks that all photographers just click and stick on cd.

Maybe you do but most don't.

  • @bthphoto - If you honestly have been a wedding photographer for years but still cannot see the humor in this, you must be a Craigslist photographer. As someone who's been in the business for years, I think it's hilarious.

  • @bthphoto two things. I think you've missed the fact that this is not someone actually talking to someone. It's a skit, like SNL, so it's suppose to be what you wish you could say to these people. 2.) You are either not human for not getting irritated...or you're not a professional photographer.

  • @bthphoto It's satire asshole. Take that zoom lens and shove it up your tight ass.

  • this isn't funny. wedding photography is a fucking racket

  • @bangbongbong You clearly have NO CLUE what you are talking about. Once you have spent 60 hours working on someone's wedding, we'll talk. Ass hat.

  • @metronomic1 Meh, say what you will but we just rented a high end camera and paid a relative to take wide angle photos incessantly through the whole thing. We have loads of raws and all the time we need to shop them to exactly how she wants for a couple hundred bucks....

  • @bangbongbong Like I said, you have no clue.

  • @metronomic1 you have no clue :)

  • @metronomic1 You are SOOOO correct. People who don't get the humor in this video cannot possibly understand. It's great to have something like this that can make you pile up all the crap we have to deal with and just laugh it off instead of actually getting upset about it. And bangbongbong - you've spent too much time on the bong if you think a rented camera and a relative is going to get you images that can even compare to what a pro can do. Be a pro for one month, then talk smack.

  • Absolutely hilarious. I've watched it three times now and can't stop laughing out loud. It's soooooo true.

  • this certainly sounds familiar

  • 2 Dislikes? Must not be photographers.

  • Hilarious.

  • Awesome :)

  • What the fuck is with all the fucking comments about him using the fucking f-word? Are you retards so fucking offended by his use of the f-word that you have to be fucking douchebags about it? For fuck's fucking sake, get the fuck off your fucking high horses and suck some fucking dicks, you morons.

  • Yes! Would love to see a clean version! That is priceless!!

  • @chelseajaie Clean version is up under my other videos

  • This would be perfection, minus the f-word. Awesome!!

  • @Brewyetphoto Clean version is up under my videos list.

  • his uncle rules dudes , he is cheap he probably has that d40 and will make couple hundreds of images from where you can get like 50 and make that damn album :S

  • umm should I send this in an email to one of my future inquiries whose budget is $1000?

  • did somebody do this off of imvu

  • I also would LOVE it if you made a "clean version", because although the video comes off as funny and sarcastic, you make many good points and took the words right out of my mouth!

  • @Countrygirl81886 Clean version under my video list

  • lmfao!

  • Perfection!

  • Excellent dialog. So true about how it is getting to be dealing with couples.

  • Oh my word! This is sooooo funny!

  • That's it exactly!
