hi nice capture,i have an interesting theory,i think it is either the planet venus in alignment or maybe a ufo, from what you have stated on several bits of infomation as you saw the object as having a flat top and moving up and down quickly, this is common as most planets are compressed in space which also causes them to wobble.if yourself or anybody would like to comment on this theory i would greatly appreciate this.
Congratulations! We believe you filmed the star of the century. On 12/12/2008 Share International announced that a large, bright star would soon appear, visible throughout the world, night and day. It is a sign heralding the imminent appearance of Maitreya, the World Teacher, on US television. Many sightings of the star have been reported. We hope to show them on our website and would appreciate permission to include some of your footage. See star photos on the Share International website.
That is no way a star, stars are generally bright in appearance depending on distance of course, but this looks like an orb just floating in mid air....weird! :)
Well point of fact is that it has not been in in the skies since i filmed it that night (including the following night) to this day (so not a star and not a planet).
I don't know where you live, but I live in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere in Germany and saw one of those hovering above it recently too. There seem to be a real lot of those around right now.
Im not sure this is a UFO, but at the same time i cant explain the flat top. If it were a star, planet, a plane, helicoter, baloon or any of those things, then why does it have a Flat Top and the rest of the circle in the dark?? Thats just odd.
It is a Sony Handycam DCR SR72 HDD. Only 25 Op zoom, Zeiss lens, 2000x Digital Zoom. I sat it down on a fence for stability, so i got nice and close..
Hi. I think, it is due to camera limitations. The question is, how match to zoom in, before the objects gets distorted? Might be to try on daylight with a far away object, till it gets distorted ...
Noted..However if it were camera distortion then surely the same effect would have occured in all directions around the object due to camera movement, but it doesnt? I filmed some stars afterwards to see the effects compared to this one, and they were vastly different, with pulsating colours, no flat tops, some bluryness. This one i zoomed into a few times because i thought the inner circles were due to distortion, turns out they werent...?
Venus is also the brightest object in the sky (next to the sun and moon), by observation, you know it isn't Venus. Try an ask a local astronomer, they usually record all star positions, maybe they can help you solve this.
I saw some really weird lights last night in colchester. Man its a UFO hub LOL

I always found these kinds of ufos very unsettling. They are almost like giant eyes, the eye of Soron anyone?;)

Are you sure you weren't videoing Venus ? It is quite large now due to it being so close to earth.

Ive filmed the Venus before and it does not show on the cam like this at all. It also does not have a flat top .... lol
