Its a credit to our sport that these are the type of falls we see, not the fatal ones in steeplechasing, for example. Yes, there are fatalities in eventing, but it's relatively rare, and I think that says a lot about how far the sport has come in terms of the training put into these horses nowadays.

i think its more like what were the riders thinking, they should be the ones putting the horses in a good take off spot, but its probs a bit difficult at that sorta level

@nutter666f Yeah, it probably both the riders and the horses that screwed up. But it could also have been a bad day for them, I have compete in jumping so I know its not easy to get a perfect jump every time, mistakes happens unfortunately.

And on that level and competition a mistake can get pretty nasty.

Some of those look like some ridiculously painful injuries. Being trampled has to be the worst feeling ever. Luckily, I can say that I've never been trampled. Over the summer I fell off and wound up with a face full of dirt and one fractured neck vertebrae. Not to mention, my face was very cut up. I looked horrific for a week. XD But nothing that's ever happened to me could top what those riders experienced. Major props to those riders.

0:32, there was a girl by were I live that did that when her horse spooked at a bear that was in the area, shes now in a coffin 6 ft under. u NEVER hang on to thier neck when u start 2 fall. and no offence to any1 that does cross crountry, or anything, but these vids are the reason i stick 2 show jumping cuz da polls actually come loose! :) great vid!
