One way or another, the rope still should have underwent some sort of tests, I doubt the ropes have been developed in Zimbabwe, it was probably imported from another country. All in all the fault either lays with the manufacturer or the business owners if they were cutting corners.

FYI, people did rush down to help pull her out, myself included. The "why isn't anyone doing anything?" was directed at the staff, who seemed to be doing nothing (from our perspective it seemed impossible for any of us to get down there)... once it became obvious there wasn't an emergency plan for this kind of thing, I ran down to the water (along with another girl) and we were joined by crew members who pulled her from the river. The girl who filmed the video joined us too.
