  • i like nig nogs

  • Great video, I'd love to have a go at driving that train.

But OMG that horn, I'd be so embarrased to sound that LOL

  • I could drive 47s 4 a living, even tho I've never actually driven one, looks fun

  • Its class driving trains, cant wait till I'm a proper driver

  • Great Video mate i wanna drive :P

  • Listen to the cooker rattling, just like 47004,lol

  • Hey is this engine equipped as a lowrider with alley wheels, loud stereo and a bodykit???, Chavs and 47s eh?????

  • The AWS always goes off when you set up cab if I remember rightly, just have to push reset button.

  • Correct, all trains are set up this way, except it varies on how you turn the AWS on. For the 47 (and such older locos) you pull down the switch behind the cab and slam the AWS reset button.

For units I think its when you turn the master key in.

I don't know if shunters are fitted with AWS, being an ex-driver of 08032 I know there wasn't any AWS fitted on her, but something like FGW 08's might have..

  • you turnt he master key to switch it on in a DMU!

  • theres a small leaver on the front cab baulkhead on the 150/1 as i have cabbed one and saw it, and for a hst you put the master key in the reverser, unlock it, press the AWS reset down then move the reverser and release the AWS reset, the alarm sounds then you reset it

  • correct

  • lol AWS horn goes off, I didnt do it! Do you have to be a driver to do this thing or can you just turn up?

  • You don't have to be a driver, as long as your over 18, not pissed off you head, and not 200 stone you'll be ok!

  • just turn up, but you have to be over 18 i think it is, also with most railways you have to book a course, and its not cheap!

  • DOH! IM only 13

  • Easy just turn up at the gloucester warwick railway when they are having a diesel gala with the driver for a fiver offer on. then just pay your fiver !

  • Just remember not all their galas offer it,

It doesnt seem to be printed anywhere that the spring diesel gala will have it so will probably be in the Summer.

The instructor also told me that it could be a tenner this year and the distance extended

  • grt, how do i get to do this?

  • Ive driven 37215 , 47105 & 73129 and all for a grand total of £15 not bad !

  • hey great vid, need to knwo somthing im an aussie driver and the instructor said vaccum? u guys use vaccume brakes?

  • thanks :)

Yes we still use vacuum brakes, most 47s are also air braked, most can be dual braked (air and vac) as well

  • I've sat in the 73 and 47701's drivers seats, I prefer the layout of the 73, but the 47 is very good

  • That vid is excellent! I done 73129 the other year plus a list of other locos. You can't beat it! *****

  • cheers mate, love your video :D.

Yes I did the 73 last year on the Saturday, love the ED, shame its not in NSE now :(. Thing with he 73 I found odd was the speedo was miles away to the left!

I hear they might extend the driver for a fiver further up the line, costing about a tenner or so.

  • Good video! 5*
