  • i hated micky mouse...i preffered bugs bunny

  • I remember seeing this clip a year ago.

    Still awesome.

  • I love how the fat one practically melts into the side of that beam, then slides off. "errrruughh..."

So strange to see some fun actually slip through.

  • That animation is great. According to John K, Kent Butterworth did it, which isn't surprising. What IS surprising, considering that it's Filmation, is that the written joke is pretty funny too.

  • how did Kent get such creative control over the scene I shouldn't wonder?

  • Here's most of Kent's reply, dated 11/26/2006: "Yes, I animated that scene. Eddie storyboarded the scene and he got in trouble because the producer said it couldn't be animated. I had recently been promoted up to "full animator" and volunteered to do it. It took the better part of a week to animate - because it's pretty full animation (Filmation wasn't set up to do full animation - they were budgeted for very limited animation, and the scene really couldn't have been done limited."

  • @timkelly : I don't know about that. There was some pretty impressive animation for Filmation cartoons like He-Man and Tarzan. Especially when He-Man was picking up a boulder or something and throwing it. Maybe for the goofier cartoons animation was limited, but for the more serious ones I though Filmation did a fantastic job. That's just me.

  • John K wasn't sure who did it when I asked him on his blog (I believe he said it was either Kent Butterworth or Tom Minton), so I asked Kent Butterworth on MySpace and he said yes, that he had animated it and Eddie Fitzgerald had storyboarded it.

There's a lot of clever gags in Filmation cartoons, and a lot of good spots of animation. You just have to watch them!

  • "HANDCUFFS?! ON A SNAKE?!"

    XD

  • maybe it's on ioffer(dot)com so you can use a keyword to search like: "Jeckle" then so you can order it, then recording it, then watching it, to mark rate, comments, and subscribe, everybody misses the cutest heckle and jeckle in filmations, it was surrealistically controlled by paramount/CBS

  • I wish I could watch filmation's heckle and jeckle in every uncut and unedited episodes, Please :'(

  • I have a lot of them, but I don't have the means to transfer them right now.

  • Does that snake have a Irish accent?

  • is this really filmation?

  • Yes, sir! It is!

  • @LeothePatrioticLion

it can't be filmation, that wild take isn't their style but limited animation and recycled animation is... how can it be?

  • This was probably the first cartoon since the 50s to try to bring back wild takes. They weren't too successful - the take

  • I meant to say that the wild takes were more bizarre than funny...much like all the other aspects of this and Filmation's contemporary Tom & Jerry revival...

  • ^^ which was DESPICABLE. Especially the Droopy cartoons. He talked non-stop through every episode.

  • The stretching noise at 00:33 currently made a comeback in Nickelodeon's flash cartoon, EL TIGRE (2007).

There is another wacky cartoon from the 70's. It is called QUASI AND THE QUACKADERO.

  • I love the Quasi cartoons. Sally Kruikshank is amazing, and she's right here on YouTube as laughingsal.

  • Pretty wacky. Way ahead of it's time.

  • Are you kidding??? This was the stuff cartoons had mostly STOPPED doing twenty years EARLIER!

  • It goes from shitty to fucking amazing to shitty again.

  • I'm the real (what?) snake?

  • "I'm the real Fang the Wonder Snake!"

  • Where can i find this??

  • Alan Oppenheimer TOTALLY sold that take. If anyone is wondering he is also the voice for Skeletor on the old He-Man cartoon.

  • HANDCUFFS ON A SNAKE !? Handcuffs on a snake!?

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO

  • Damn, I know this is 12-13 years before Ren & Stimpy, and about 8 or 9 years before "The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse", but this looks a LOT like REN & STIMPY artwork!!

  • It was storyboarded by Eddie Fitzgerald and animated by Kent Butterworth!

  • Essa é uma cena hilária. O Gato Gatuno fica gigantão diante de seu comparsa Bofe. É de morrer de rir.

  • The fat cat assistant of Oil Can Harry reminds me of the Filmation Archie Show's Big Moose character

  • These Mighty Mouse cartoon's owned. Do you have anymore?

  • Quite a few, yes!

  • PLEASE!! Tell me how to get some. I'll pay!!!

  • I'll pay just for this one!!

  • I remember I taped this cartoon and paused it on that take, I thought it was wild too!!

  • You still have the tapes? I can trade you some Rocko or Hoppity Hooper DVD's. Or pay ya.
