@YoureAlwaysRight Now on a different note, let me tell you that even before you can enter into the police academy for my department, you must hold a college degree. Many of our officers have gone on to obtain their masters degree. I hold a B.A. in Criminal Justice and P.E. in Engineering.

I really don’t think you have any idea what the training process of a police officer is. We go through hours of class room training in family counseling, psychology and various other aspects. The only reason in my mind that females should be police officers is to deal with female inmates. Physically speaking, a woman officer has no business trying to take on a male suspect, as men are by and large far more equipped to fight. It's not about political correctness, but common sense. There are things women can do better than men, and things men can do better than women. Denying this in the name of equality has actually made us stupid. We are all equal in worth. But, not in other things.

Also, you have to have females in the force for rape victims and searching female inmates. It's not all about being so tough. Even 3rd world countries have female officers because it's needed.

Do you think the taser has interfered in an officers skill at de-escalating a heated situation? It seems like now officers are quicker to go to the taser than to talk with a person to try to get the person to reason or calm down. Is this a good trend in law enforcement? Does this send a message of a good working relationship to the community the officer serves? Does this mentality help officers perform community based policing? Does this attitude help build trust and cooporation?

I can only answer this from myself. If I was in a bar fight and you ordered me on the ground(which I'd do in a heart beat to avoid getting shot by you) you arrested me, fined me, put me in a drunk tank or prison then I would not care. But the minute a cop puts their hands on me then all bets are off.

@DEADCOPSMAKEMEHAPPY Well I can tell you that when you mix alcohol and egos you will not act accordingly. I have NEVER had anyone in a bar fight do what we have asked them to do. I wish they would because it would save on the paperwork too. You have to remember that when we go to a bar fight a crime has been committed; otherwise we wouldn't be going there. I will ASK once, TELL you once, then you will be doing it my way the third time.

I respect anybody that shows me respect. I have been in bar fights and have been ordered on the ground, I did it, then the cop came over cuffed me, put me in the patrol car, and then questioned the scene. I do have some respect for that cop. He did his job and did not hurt me.

@YoureAlwaysRight Now on a different note, let me tell you that even before you can enter into the police academy for my department, you must hold a college degree. Many of our officers have gone on to obtain their masters degree. I hold a B.A. in Criminal Justice and P.E. in Engineering.

I really don’t think you have any idea what the training process of a police officer is. We go through hours of class room training in family counseling, psychology and various other aspects. As for tasers violating the 8th Amendment, this is obviously your opinion, because there has not been any court that has gone on record defending your statement.

I have already told you ours require a minimum of 96 hours of hands on training, which is 96 hours on the firing range firing your weapon. As for the terminology of peace officer to police officer, my shield states police officer so that is what I am.

But it is funny how you have stated several times. That you would like to disarm police officers without advanced training and experience, but any regular civilian can carry a firearm with a two day general class. Again I will ask you just what additional or advanced training would you like to see a police officer go through?

So 96 hours on the firing range is not enough, but it is ok for a cilivian with a two day general course on cleaning, handling, etc? That make no sense at all. The officers in our State are highly qualified in firearms training and handling. What advanced training are you talking about?
